Skull Island: a place where animals, plants, and insects can kill you. I'm actually surprised that the air doesn't kill you, too. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if there are poisonous berries.

Interesting you should mention the air. I recently published two dinosaur books that feature an island that is as hellish as Skull Island. In those books, even the island's atmosphere is lethal to humans.

I’d also prefer kong crushing me because I think it’s the less painful because it happens in less than a second (even if there’s so much gore left behind)

Theory: After Skull Island was destroyed by Camazotz's storm, some species migrated to the mainland. Meaning that somewhere around the world, some of these creatures could be attacking people in beaches.
Either that or they relocated to the Hollow Earth, which is more likely considering Skull Island is somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.
