Someone like you would love Salem. Not too far from Boston and only 20 minutes by train, great down town area and you can walk everywhere, coffee shops, book stores, right on the ocean. It's like a smaller version of Boston and everyone is friendly as heck
So happy for you, Sasha! Recognizing that where you were wasn't where you wanted to be and taking action on that is so incredible and mature. I can't believe we're only a year apart, you're so worldly and responsible! But I'm so happy that you're making this change and doing what makes you happy. I hope I get to see in Boston some time!
She's made a video before discussing money and stuff, and being 20 years old, building a successful RUclips brand, writing a novel, and being able to support yourself is responsible and admirable in my book. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Julia Leigh if she was really as 'mature and responsible' as you seem to think she is, she would consider her widowed father before moving across the country on a whim. Sasha is extremely immature and naïve, and videos such as this and her 'feel bad for me I'm so poor' rant really bring this is to light.
Whether Sasha not living with her dad is an issue or not is a matter that is entirely between her and her dad. If she has the money, the means and the support to do what she feels is necessary for continued good mental health, why shouldn't she? Literally none of this is for you to comment on.
I'm from Texas and basically everyone I know who has moved here has felt isolated and culture shocked, I guess because of how different Texas and its people are. I also once spoke to someone who felt like it was impossible for them to fit into Texas because so many people talk about being a 'born and raised texan' and the attitude is just vastly different than what she was used to in the midwest. The opposite is also true though, Texans that move out of state generally have a bit of culture shock too. My brother moved to Santa Fe and was miserable bc of the super open attitude of the locals
I know exactly what you mean. I moved to Texas around the same time you did and wow...you are NOT joking about culture shock. I have my family, but that's it. Just living in our own little bubble because we are soooo different than everyone else here. It is definitely an isolating experience and I am STILL waiting to get used to this place after 9 months of living here. Glad you are able to pick up and move somewhere more comfortable for you :)
Sasha, you should totally do a video teaching everything about apartments and how to get them for ppl who knows nothing about it, like me haha, but will soon be in your shoes and have to be an adult and find an apartment :D Loved this vlog
I am so glad I randomly came across this video! I'm in a similar situation (moved super quick from my home town and life just doesn't feel right in the new city). I'm planning a move with friends to a completely new city and this makes me optimistic that it will be better than my first move!! Thanks!!
True! If you don't like where you are and can change it, do it! I know how devastating it can be to move somewhere you're really excited about, and then realizing it's _not_ working out for you... It's always a learning experience, but it's better to feel good about where you live. So excited for you to move into this new place and start a new chapter in your life (:
^ Yes! I live in PA where ticks and lyme disease are really bad this year as well. I've been medicating my three dogs with topical flea and tick preventative (Advantage II) religiously. I would definitely either do that or you can get a tick collar from 1800petmeds, which usually last 3 months and are pretty affordable. Ticks are the devil.
holy shit appartment sizes are so different between france and the us. two students getting an appartment would probably not get anything over 650 feet square tops for like 300 to 600$ per month depending on the city
It depends on where in the US. I own a condo that is only 500 square feet and that cost me nearly half a million dollars. I live in the most expensive part of the country where a dollar gets you absolutely nowhere.
Marianne L yeah I feel you! Here in my town Uppsala in Sweden most students live in coridor rooms that are about 25 square metres( ca 290 s.f) for about 450$/month. Or they rent someone's couch.. or if you are lucky enough to be able to buy an apartment( with the help of your parents) they usually buy one room apartments(ca. 330 s.f) in small high rise buildings for around 200k$... It's crazy expensive living here as a student or a young adult wanting to move out :( though all students ( even in high school) actually get money as a gift from the government every month! Around 127$ in hs and 350$ in college:) we can also take special student loans up to around 1000$/month with next to no interest 👍🏻
Helena Möllerström Oh wow I wanna live in Sweden 😂 I'm in Australia and most people I know don't even think about moving out until they've finished their first tertiary course. It's just too expensive and most people would rather focus on travelling. That being said, I know a lot of people in rural areas who move closer to the city to go to university but most stay with relatives or friends or in student accomodation. I'm 19 and none of my uni friends (that I know of) pay rent.
I live in a smaller and more expensive place as a student in America, but I know others in bigger and cheaper places. There is so many places in the US and lots of space if you are not in a city so it can range a lot from place to place, that's why different states have different minimum wages because of differing costs of living. Also about living at home... I would do that if home was not cross country. A lot of US students do not have the option to stay at home when their school is thousands of miles away.
Yes, Texas is very different. I was born and raised here and was culture shocked when I visited Massachusetts and Rhode Island. But I'm glad you found happiness in your new home!
I was "watching" this while doing my makeup, so I didn't really *see* anything but I really enjoyed *listenning* to Sasha's voice. She seems so enthusiastic and excited about things that it makes you want to be there and experience with her ... Love your vids Sasha !!
So so so glad you're doing this for yourself Sasha! It's hard when you don't fit in & you've dealt with that so well! I remember your vlogs etc from Boston & I feel like it was a very you place! Good luck with the move!
Congrats Sasha! And good for you for doing what's best for yourself! I recently went through a similar situation where I'd moved but was really unhappy there because I was so lonely and just in a really bad place, I ended up moving back home for a bit where I decided to go get my masters degree!
Congrats on your new apartment in Boston!! I was born and raised in TX but I lived in a small town and then Houston which is wonderful!! In the part of Texas you lived in I would never live there because I don't like it. However, I now live in LA and I do love it here and change is always good!
Girl, I moved from L.A., which is home to right outside Dallas/ Fort Worth, and I've been here 6 years and I'm still in culture shock and I still don't like it. Unfortunately, I cannot up and move but the minute I can leave here I'm gone. I hope your happy where you are and things worked out as I realize this was several months ago.
Im REALLY happy for you Sasha!! I thought this would happen when you moved to Texas, it seemed quick, and like everything you just described. Im happy you are making this decision! I believe you will be really happy in Boston!
Ive followed for a while and i could see from SC stories you weren't happy and was not your usual self while you lived in Texas so im glad you moved out of there. =) All the best to your new adventures in Boston xx
I have moved around a lot so I definitely know what you mean! I have been in so many situations where I don't fit .So I'm happy you're happy. Also congrats on the apartment!!
Sorry you didn't like Texas. I'm a native Texan and I like living in Austin. I've traveled to many countries and while I enjoy myself, I'm always delighted to return home. I'm pretty sure the only other place I'd like to live is London. Best wishes to you. Boston is a great place and I hope you find much happiness in your new apartment.
sasha this is such a lovely video! at the start of the year i saved up and moved from new zealand all the way to florida for a work exchange. however a couple of weeks into it i was MISERABLE - i hated my job, it gave me crazy anxiety (to the point where i was physically sick most days), and while i did have amazing friends and awesome roommates i was just not happy there doing an awful job 5/6 days a week so i packed up all my things and moved back home. i ended up getting an awesome job back here in nz so it was meant to be. i totally agree in moving if you're not happy and it seems like you're so excited to be back in a place you feel you belong and it's so wonderful and infectious! so happy to see you happy. everything happens for a reason and it's lovely to see you stay true to yourself. all the best for the big move! x
I moved to Texas when I was eight. I'll travel a lot but I plan to stay in Texas. Funny thing about Texas. People who live here like to live secluded with the occasional venture into the crowd to do various things. If you're a people person I would recommend not moving here. I'm what is described as an expressive introvert. I like being alone and independent, I do like having friends, but I also have preferred seclude for myself for days on end so I can write with minimal social interaction. If that's not for you, then I wouldn't recommend moving here.
Sasha sounds like she knows what she's talking about, and that scares me a little. I don't know why! If you read this Sasha, where is your necklace from? I LOVE IT!

nephilimgirlbooks may I ask why you hate Texas? I personally love it! no state income tax. decent apartment prices. variety of landscapes. different cultures and diverse cities.
Omg this is so funny. I live in Massachusetts and my dad is from Texas :) so strange! I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing you around! And your right, Texas does have a completely different culture.
I've lived in the Southwest US all my life and have been to Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada. I can honestly say that Texas would likely have little difference in culture. Plus I lived in rural and urban areas, so I received a healthy mix of subcultures in my late teens (too.... much... moving.) That said, it's probably better for you to move where you're comfortable. Boston seems nice. Good luck :D.
Congratulations on the apartment! Just out of curiousty what about Lindsey and Zenith, isnt there going to be a second book or are you not going to write books with her again. Not in a bad way but in an Independent way, as she also has published several books on her own which is awesome!
Yessssssss, now that stash his going to live in Massachusetts she can make more meet ups, so I don't have to go across the country to go to book tube meetups
If it's any consolation. I too moved to Texas (with my family, we're a family of 6 mind you) and literally moved within a month. Agreed. It's a cultural thing. Not at all what I expected. Needless to say, I moved back to Northern California and will NEVER move south of California again! I'm landlocked. Love the Pacific North West with every bit of me
Apartments where I live are so overpriced, $1000 a month for places half this size and no dogs over 25 pounds, so I'm curious to know what price range these really nice apartments fell in.
"I'm single.. as heck" girl you and I both
Luisa Arango Applies to some dudes too lol... I can't even get a date.
Siiiigh. Me too.
Someone like you would love Salem. Not too far from Boston and only 20 minutes by train, great down town area and you can walk everywhere, coffee shops, book stores, right on the ocean. It's like a smaller version of Boston and everyone is friendly as heck
All I'm doing is looking for a place for the bookshelves throughout the entire video lol
Evelyn Granados SAME

NextDoorFangirl thanks girl!!
NextDoorFangirl it isn't being 'responsible' it's called 'having a lot of money'. Most people don't move like this cos they cannot afford it.
She's made a video before discussing money and stuff, and being 20 years old, building a successful RUclips brand, writing a novel, and being able to support yourself is responsible and admirable in my book. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Marina Li just google apartments in your location and go from there!
Marina Li I would watch that. I'm planning to move in a year.
I love Boston so much ! So happy for you. There's many people like us there: readers, etc. There's so many bookstores, cafe's, history, etc

diaryofareader what are some of the differences? I live in Texas but am planning on going to grad school up there and want to be prepared :)
My phone is my best filming device! And may as well also be a potato, that's true. But your potato films pretty well!!
Megan Trimble I use my phone too!
Congratulations on getting your new apartment, and good luck on moving. Oh! And can you make moving vlogs, I love your vlogs!
Congrats on getting the apartment you guys wanted! Good luck with moving and everything! :)
I was "watching" this while doing my makeup, so I didn't really *see* anything but I really enjoyed *listenning* to Sasha's voice. She seems so enthusiastic and excited about things that it makes you want to be there and experience with her ... Love your vids Sasha !!
aw I'm sorry you didn't like Texas! I have lived here all my life so I dont know much different. but congrats on your apartment!!! 😄💗
Alex B. Same Texas born and bred. I would need a million dollars to even think of moving out of state. ❤
a lot of panning of white walls lol I love apartment hunting! also your happiness is the most important thing I'm proud of you for focusing on it xx
So so so glad you're doing this for yourself Sasha! It's hard when you don't fit in & you've dealt with that so well! I remember your vlogs etc from Boston & I feel like it was a very you place! Good luck with the move!
When you're getting dizzy because of a shaky camera but refuse to look away because you MUST SEE IT ALL.
I love that 30 minutes is a long way away. That's how far away our high school is from my house.
I'm crying because no youtube that i watch lives in MA! Enjoy it Sasha, i know i do ❤️
Congrats Sasha! And good for you for doing what's best for yourself! I recently went through a similar situation where I'd moved but was really unhappy there because I was so lonely and just in a really bad place, I ended up moving back home for a bit where I decided to go get my masters degree!
Im hoping to move to Boston in about 2 years!! Loved seeing you search for apts!

Yessss Marylou's is the best coffee 🙌🏼 Welcome back to New England!
Welcome to Boston!! We can't wait to have you :)) (although I'll be going to school in NY in the fall and I'll miss my hometown :( )
I'm glad you that you decided to do what you felt was right.
This is such a great video! I love watching people look for apartments and houses.
Ive followed for a while and i could see from SC stories you weren't happy and was not your usual self while you lived in Texas so im glad you moved out of there. =) All the best to your new adventures in Boston xx
Your friend reminds me of the fan art I've seen of Feyre or Nesta! 😍
I have moved around a lot so I definitely know what you mean! I have been in so many situations where I don't fit .So I'm happy you're happy. Also congrats on the apartment!!
I've lived in TX my entire life and hate it. It's great that you're young enough to just go move. I...am stuck here.
I'm glad you guys got the apartment!! :D I can't wait to see videos in your new place.
"Now we're getting hit by a car, so that's our little update!" Hahahahha
sasha this is such a lovely video! at the start of the year i saved up and moved from new zealand all the way to florida for a work exchange. however a couple of weeks into it i was MISERABLE - i hated my job, it gave me crazy anxiety (to the point where i was physically sick most days), and while i did have amazing friends and awesome roommates i was just not happy there doing an awful job 5/6 days a week so i packed up all my things and moved back home. i ended up getting an awesome job back here in nz so it was meant to be. i totally agree in moving if you're not happy and it seems like you're so excited to be back in a place you feel you belong and it's so wonderful and infectious! so happy to see you happy. everything happens for a reason and it's lovely to see you stay true to yourself. all the best for the big move! x

I'm glad you are happy. I hope you find yourself in Boston! Can't wait for Zenith either by the way!
you will forever be my favorite vlogger
So glad you found the situation that makes you happy!
OMG Mary Lou's! So jealous! I used to live near one but I moved to a town without any. I miss those pink cups.
You are soooo lucky! I used to live in Boston, but then I moved and I miss it so much!
Having moved from Chicago to Texas myself... I get ya.
That's weird, were going to move to the Boston area in August too! Were moving from the West so it going to be hard! Good luck!
Honestly I'm extremely excited that you're looking for an apartment in the city. I hope to see you in a bookstore lol.
When there are stairs...you can't really call it a appartment...😄 It is a real house.
Sorry you felt lonely in Texas. It seemed like you and Lindsay hanged out a lot. Based on your videos.
I'd watch their sitcom.
congrats for getting the apartment and also for deciding to make the move that fits your life best
I moved to Texas when I was eight. I'll travel a lot but I plan to stay in Texas.

Good Luck Sasha! Plus Illinois is going bankrupt so Massachusetts is definitely a better move. ♥
Considering the things Frazier would like is realy sweet of you
I really enjoyed watching this video. Can't wait till I move out
This is strange but the first town you looked at is my town and the second apartment complex is one my sister just moved out of! Small world!
I'm glad! You look really happy in that last clip
I was just watching vids on your vlog channel earlier today, wishing you would vlog more . Yay !!
Sasha sounds like she knows what she's talking about, and that scares me a little. I don't know why!
If you read this Sasha, where is your necklace from? I LOVE IT!
Pretty sure she got it at a market in Lake Forest but I could be mistaken
Ally-mai hahaha I know too much about apartments and I got it from an art fair for $5!
That's so cool! Thank you for replying!!!!
As a (really) small BookTuber, I was wondering if you had any advice for finding video ideas, or just general advice?
Thanks!
Sasha, you should totally do a video teaching everything about apartments and how to get them for ppl who knows nothing about it! like me! haha :D Loved this vlog
Congrats on finding your apartment, but I hope you have enough room for all of your wonderful books.
As someone who lives in Texas, I hate living in Texas. Sorry it was a bad experience! I wish I could live up north. Maybe after college.
nephilimgirlbooks me too high five
nephilimgirlbooks may I ask why you hate Texas? I personally love it! no state income tax. decent apartment prices. variety of landscapes. different cultures and diverse cities.
Ahh Boston sounds like such a great place to live in!! I hope u have tons of fun there Sasha! ❤️
YAY CONGRATS ON THE APARTMENT

Please do moving vlogs! I love to follow you around on this journey! :D
Congratulations on the apartment!
Just out of curiousty what about Lindsey and Zenith, isnt there going to be a second book or are you not going to write books with her again. Not in a bad way but in an Independent way, as she also has published several books on her own which is awesome!

You are so cute! Best of luck on a smooth moving transition!
If it's any consolation. I too moved to Texas (with my family, we're a family of 6 mind you) and literally moved within a month. Agreed. It's a cultural thing. Not at all what I expected. Sasha would be a good roommate to have, you don't even have to manipulate her into having the bigger bedroom, she'd just give it to you.
I'm so excited for you, id' imagine that theres a lot more to do in Boston than in Texas (not that i don't like Texas) also Love your vlogs!!
Good luck with the move!
What online school are you attending, if you don't mind me asking?
That necklace is so pretty
I definitely saw my aunts house at the beginning
omg I'm so early, no comments to read. Love you Sasha! :)
Sasha!! how do you maintain your hair so beautiful!!! because you dye it sooo really need to know what do you do to keep it that gorgeous!
MOVING VLOGGSSSS
Sasha I really wish you still lived in Chicago because that's where I am right now😭
Congratulations on the apartment I hope you will enjoy living there more than Texas also Fraser is so cute where can I get one like him? 😀
Necklace goals 😍👌🏼
Will you do an apartment tour when you will move in? (Sorry for my English) 🏠
Apartments where I live are so overpriced, $1000 a month for places half this size and no dogs over 25 pounds, so I'm curious to know what price range these really nice apartments fell in.
I hope you do a meet up in boston😁
