My Dad was a long haul trucker for most of his life and he didn't do it because he had to. He loved it and I never understood the attraction. I think it must be something like being a sailor where you're fighting the elements and hoping your equipment holds up. Great song and cool review

Jason Isbell is the best songwriter and singer he is a inspiring all around songwriter in music and his personal struggles. I’ve always love music I learned guitar as an adult , but Jason made me start writing music. I discovered him in 2015 and I’ve seen him 9 times since and it’s not enough.
I know this is an older video, but im not sure if you caught that Jason uses the word appetite in a couple of songs to reference a drug addiction. Hes saying he was so addicted to drugs they were strangling the life out of him

I'd call it more Americana than country. However, a good song is just a good song no matter what ya call it.

Master Story teller, so many more great songs by him. Check out Live Oak. Remember it's written as a metaphor for him getting clean.
