  • Mesa Verde National Park - What to know before you go! Had the opportunity to camp at Mesa Verde National Park this past week and stayed inside the park at Morefield Campground (the only campground in the park). Decided to give you all a peak at the campground and a little on some of the ruins (which are amazing to see in person). As usual, post your questions/comments and I will gladly answer them. Hope this helps and thanks for checking out the video.

Excellent video! Thanks for the info and loved showing the map and outline of the park. Simple yet quickly informative about what the park offers and where the campground and lodge are. Thanks!

Yep, me too. It's why I started doing campground review videos. I often know the attractions of the park I'm going to but usually not a lot of info on the campground which I really want to see to know before I get there...I want to understand if there are trees, fire pits, benches/tables, water/electricity, how big the sites are, how far from the attractions, etc. Often the stuff that is missing from a lot of reviews, therefore, I started doing them at the campgrounds I stay at in hopes to help others know what to expect.

Campground sparsely used this year. Couple loops closed. Reservations never needed for dry camp. Good wifi as long as you're in sight of bathroom.

We didn't get any Cell service in the campground at all. had to head up to the top before we got any signal. Did not look to see if there was guest WiFi in the campground. Thanks for the tip, good to know.

@Rough Riders Excellent content, thank you! We've reserved a "full hook up" site for first week of October 2022. Couple quick questions: Is the Ute Loop the only loop with full hook ups? My reservation did not specify name of the loop, just that it was full hook up. And along those lines, do the full hook up sites also have sewer? Finally, I've read some reviews on this campground that mentioned a lot of bees/wasps...did you have any issues with that? Thanks again for the great content!

Hello. Thanks for the comment. I believe only the Ute loop has the full hook ups. Other than a quick drive through, I did not get out to explore each loop in more detail but none of the others appeared to have hook ups at all. I don't think sewers as there was a separate dump station on the way out. I don't recall having issues with Bees/Wasps but we were there mid summer so it was pretty warm. We were only there a couple of days as we were traveling back from California. Enjoy your visit...if you can sign up for the walking tour, I wish we would have done that but it was peak COVID and the tours were not offered then.

Do they have hook ups for tent sites? Im visiting in july this year

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to do a detailed tour of the tent only sites, just the drive through of the loops so I am not quite sure. I would expect that the tent sites probably had shared spigots to fill your water jugs. I would not expect any power at those sites. Be prepared for pretty warm days, it was pretty hot when we were there in August.
