  • This week’s film breakdown compares Pittsburgh Steelers’ TJ Watt and his older brother Houston Texans’ JJ Watt. TJ is heading into his 4th year with the Steelers and is coming off a third place finish in the NFL's defensive player of the year voting. Can he develop to be as good as his brother was at the height of his career? This episode uses the all-22 coaches film to analyze TJ and JJ Watt as defensive players.

  • @nashtebelak466
    @nashtebelak466 2 года назад

    You could also look at offensive tackles as lacking some parts of technique. Why open your shoulders? You lack strength when you do so compared to keeping them square until you have to unhinge them. Opening right away just allows the defensive player to get around you easier by pushing your shoulders in. I understand the OL's size is an advantage, but when you are going against people now close to your size and speed, you cannot fully rely on that and must use technique to out-play the other side.

    You can’t compare these two guys. One is a pass rushing OLB and the other is strictly DLine.
    And for all those guys knocking TJ, remember that JJ had Whitney Mercilus, Clowney, McKinney, and Cunningham so he had help on D at times. TJ of course has the better team, but we’re comparing individual skills.
    Not JJ his first 5 years is a top 10 defensive player all time statistically; top 5 D-line. White was the Reggie of his time for five years, then he fell back to earth and while he’s still solid, he’s not head and shoulders above the rest anymore. TJ, is approaching “Von Miller” status and he could progress and reach LT status.
    JJ has a great reputation but if you don’t have TJ>JJ for at least this year and for the future your dumb.

      Sprint Right Option They’re very good! I just think that Watt Brothers are better is all. JJ Watt is a HOFamer and TJ Watt is top 5 edge rusher.

    Brees vs Brady

    Matt Ryan vs Aaron Rodgers (I would love to see this one)
    Also TJ is better he has his brothers pass rushing skills but is wayyy better in coverage

      Thanks Oddysi. Since you're still young, I would try and master one single move. Whether it be your bull, club-rip anything, but work on it every single day. Practice the hand movements against air as much as possible, it'll pay off.

    What DE could do what JJ can do? Reggie White, but that is no slight to JJ. JJ was/is a monster, a super freak. Yet, I believe that modern fans look at stats and analysis and forgets the team game and what you see as a team. How can a #1 defense with an 8-8 record? You can't, the defense is dominating the game.
