I mean, he WAS being racially profiled so like this is the first time I think I've seen A-Train in the right about something? Idk I'm behind on the show and I've seen a couple of clips around him probably out of order
@kuno3336 everytime he's out of order he's usually under pressure it's not cause he's sadistic like HM. Sure he's done some shit that's for his own gain but that's just being part of the Seven lol.
A train doesn’t kill often. In the show he’s killed 3 people. Robin was an accident. He killed popclaw bc he knew what vought was gonna do to her so he wanted to do it himself. Still messed up but understandable. And blue hawk was getting away with everything he was doing. He had to learn in the most miserable way possible to account for his mistakes. We’ll definitely see a redemption in S4
They did such a good job at both highlighting the racism in the situation while also exploring how A-trains mind has been so warped by his fame that he thinks more in how its more of an issue because he's a celebrity then because he's being racially profiled. Its that kinda depth that I wish most fans who jumped on this show from homelanders edits would pick up.
I’m not even this far yet and I’ve picked up the depth.. on the fourth episode and this show is deep, so much hidden meaning, they cover a lot of the issues we tackle in the real world in their own way (like shown in this scene) making the show very relatable which is an appealing point. Especially the titular “boys” Hughie himself is just so much like how most of us would act being thrown into that type of situation lol and the development through even just a few episodes is pretty unreal, really looking forward to finish the show.
Honestly in a real life situation I wouldn’t think A train with a crutch would be a suspicious individual. It’s those with the “walk” or speed of the walk and hunch back or dirty ragged clothes you gotta watch out for .
He literally just looked like any other dude plus he was injured and needs assistance to walk so how tf would he have been able to steal very smoothly anyways lol
I've seen police having to haul folks in wheel chairs and electric scooters into patrol cars because of them trying to steal stuff. Just because somebody is crippled or injured doesn't mean they won't try something stupid.
What makes The Boys so good is that it shows people doing the most horrendous things, and then explains HOW they got there so that as a society we can try to improve. A-train, Homelander, Butcher, and Deep are all adults who are responsible for their own actions, but it’s still good to understand how society contributed to their creation.
@@artloverivyHuh. Wth are you talking about, thats like blaming society for A -Train running through Hughie's ex. You just completely contradicted yourself, how can you say theyre responsible for their actions and then say its societies fault for their actions. Let alone dont understand the premise of the boys
@@darienford860 You do know that life is complicated right? There can be multiple factors for something happening. While society is to blame for teaching toxic masculinity, men are also equally responsible for failing to put in the effort resist it. It’s not their fault that they were taught to be violent and emotionally repressive, but it IS there fault if they refuse to fight against that social programming. That’s why MM is a good person, while Homelander is not. Both were taught the same version of masculinity, but only one of them makes the difficult choice to resist the urges, while the other chooses the easy solution and feeds the urges.
@@artloverivy I don't think you understand. The premise of the boys isn't that the heroes were abused so in return became abusive and violent themselves, the premise is that the power corrupted them. It's supposed to be a more realistic take on what power would actually do to people.
@@JohnDanielRay1 Power does corrupt, but the upbringing of these men made them vulnerable to that corruption. A-Train grew up in a marginalized neighborhood and used his new status to escape from that and focus on his own goals rather than those of his community. Homelander was treated like a science experiment since birth and never learned kindness or compassion. Butcher was brutally taught that life is merely a contest of strength and that violence is the only solution to problems. You are correct, and a big part of the show is how corrosive power is, but it’s important to acknowledge the other statements being made about how we raise people in modern society, especially boys. They’re taught that they have to meet ridiculous standards with their appearance and behavior, and that any display of love or vulnerability is nothing but ‘weakness.’ Constantly we see examples of how these men are actually wonderful people deep down inside, but due to their upbringing, they’ve been taught to repress that part of themselves. Homelander genuinely loves Ryan. He probably would’ve been a great person had he been taught morals instead of being raised as a corporate product. Butcher genuinely loves The Boys, and he’d probably be better at showing it if he wasn’t trained to only display strength and dominance.
I think the point of the scene is supposed to show how each member of the seven is corrupted as people due to their powers. For A train he has a large ego. Also he likes to build his clout. He probally saw the camera and got more agrivated at the guy than normal.
