- Determining the best chess game ever played is a matter of subjective opinion; there can be no unanimous agreement. In this video, we examine a game which FIDE World Champion Alexander Khalifman called one of the best in chess history. This remarkable game was played between the great theoretician Isaac Boleslavsky and the sharp tactician Alexander Tolush, who was Boris Spassky's coach. The game is notable for its wild tactical battle and Boleslavsky’s deep strategic understanding of chess.

The very good choice of variations and also your excellent usage of the english language, even though it is not your native language, allows you to convey a lot of ideas succinctly in a short video.
What a wild game!! Thank you!
My pleasure!
Beautiful game and amazing analysis and presentation
Thank you for showing us this game. Boleslavsky played very well, but I have a hard time considering it a candidate for the greatest game ever given that White's play was so poor. If you looked at the game without knowing the names, you'd never guess that White was a GM-level player and that the game was played in the USSR Championship.
Thanks for the beautiful game with analysis ❤, would have never come across such a quality game.
Thanks 🙏
Very difficult to understand intensions of black from its moves.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
@@chesswisdom Lessons bearing game, thanks once again.
I "liked" BUT "best game ever" is absurd. For that try e.g. Karpov vs Korchnoi (Dortmund 1994) in which Vik K allows former world champ Anatoly to have two queens for many moves but after > 70 moves Vik still won. "Best game" purely subjective of course. 'Chacun a son gout'
In the final position, after Qxa7 exf4, what if Kf2 and if f3 g3? Black certainly still looks winning, but it looks like maybe the battle could be fought.
I think best chess game is where all moves of both players are top best engine moves, I doubt it has ever happened for any game older than 20 years maybe even 10 years.
Definitely a tactic masterpiece. Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure.
Not that I'm such an expert, but "best game ever" is a little strong. Still, it reminded me that I don't think moves ahead, as we saw here.
In the final position, two bishops and a rook have never been moved!
I remember the great Spassky /Fischer Games.
A jewel 💎. Thanks for this beautiful masterpiece 🔥💎✌️⚡️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My pleasure.
Great!
In my opinion, Boleslavsky is the most underrated chess player ever. His contributions to opening theory in the KID and the Sicilian -- the backward d pawn in both openings -- helped to revolutionize chess thinking in ways that are still apparent to this day. In OTB play, he came within a whisker of becoming the challenger to Botvinnik for the world championship in 1951, losing in the candidates' round in a playoff against Bronstein. Yet he seems to be forgotten by most players.
Absolutly agree!! 👍👍
🎉🎉 New video! These are so great. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Beautiful presentation to match this beautiful game.
Only use less over lecture
Only miniatures are top games that happened long time ago
You should get a suspended microphone, because the constant pounding from your keyboard is vere annoying.
Then leave. His videos are extremely informative.
You should say thank you.
Now this is too far.

How sad you did not appreciate this wonderful analysis.
Excellent game and very informative 👍
Thank you, may you examine the tiebreaker game 4 from Liren vs Nepo/ that series?!? Very few videos from that wonderful game, Rf6-g6!!!!!!
Brilliant game, lucid commentary. Thanks.
My pleasure.
Fantastic attacking sequence by Boleslavsky. Very reminiscent of Tal, without all the piece sacrifices lol. Thank you kindly for sharing this game and for the analysis breakdowns
My pleasure.
Boleslavsky played like Magnus here actually. Attacking without sacrificing.
Thorough analysis.
That game was pretty amazing! Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure.
As an Azerbaijanian chess lover I really find helpful this game.
Amazing Game!!!
Amazing game!
I totally agree. One of the nicest chess game ever seen. Spectacular and instructive. Many thanxx🙏🙏🙏
It only instructs one thing; don't put your Queen out there to be harassed.
@@johnsmith1474 Definitely (unless your name is Bobby Fischer😇).
Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
The analysis destroyed a good game. The analysis is an annoying distraction. The people who watch chess games knows all these moves. No need to tell them. It makes it confusing because it is difficult to tell which moves belong to the players. 👎👎👎👎👎
You are a classic chess snob
@@davidwatt7368 it’s a reality that West took chess from India-Persia and destroyed the beautiful game by changing the rules. That’s why most games end in draw and have lost charm because people have memorized the moves. There are no more any miniatures we see. Now decide by yourself.
