Love to have David on. He speaks sense - just because he doesn't agree with the majority that transfers are the be-all and end-all some get a little frustrated with his views. He's very level headed and enjoyed the chat between you both.
@@AnfieldAgendaI agree with a lot of what David says about a lot of Liverpool subjects but on this particular issue I’m 💯 with you on this. We’ve had many situations over the years were the squad has been paper thin due to injuries and having no suitable replacements. If he wants to see an example of this look at the 20/21 season debacle when we had Hendo and Fab at centre half
@@AnfieldAgenda Other clubs need a David Lynch in my opinion. There would be no transfers in the market if there was a David Lynch at every club. He could do a head count on left backs in Man Utd for example and explain there is no problem, they have Luke Shaw and Malacia. Ok yes there is the small problem of them being injured for the last 18 months, but it is still 2 left backs there. Same thing he is doing with the head count on our center backs. He is using logic from last summer with different manager to justify not signing a center back after letting Matip go. Guess what, it is January now, not June. The only thing stifling minutes for Quansah is his own performance and Slot not trusting him. Are we forgetting he was in the starting line up for the very first game before being pulled off at half time? Konate and Gomez are always getting injuries and that is not their fault. We still have VVD and thank God for him, who knows about next summer. If he gets injured this season I am not even sure we will get champions league football.
And I don"t want to criticize Quansah by the way. We all know he has talent, he showed us last season but he is still learning and his confidence is low. No way he is ready to shoulder the burden on starting every game in case of injury in a team that is leading the race to the title and has high expectation of other silverware this season. He is just not ready.
Worrying situation in Liverpool FC at the moment. Contract extension situation of their best players, Drop in form in crucial moment, No ambition from the owners..... Am afraid we might bottle it again 😮😮😮😮
If FSG don’t spend this window there’s definitely alarm bells. I’d be expecting a DM as minimum if we keep hold of all three players on contract renewal
The ongoing unwillingness of the Club to strengthen the obvious weaknesses in midfield and left back is a real concern and could easily derail what looks like a promising season
He says signing another CB would block Quansah, but last season we had 4 CBs and Quansah broke through.... Why? Because 3 of the CBs were injury prone and we still have 2 of them!! We need another option in case of injury and it doesn't seem like there is an academy product that could break through this season like Jarrell did last!
Fans and clubs alike have to realize that this isn’t your granddad’s premier league. These boys are playing so many games a season with an about two week summer break (virtually non existent) and now with winter world cups significant winter international interruptions. I understand that keeping a bunch of first team players happy when they’re not getting play time is difficult but players also have to adapt. Unless they want injury after injury and for their careers to end before 30. There needs to be rotation and clubs the size of LFC need to have squad depth enough for contingencies.
And in 7 years Klopp was with us how many league titles did he win, ONE because the youngsters were simply not to a standard required, but that was his only option, this is why we have only won one title in 39 years. Because we have cheap owners
Great debate from the 2 boys. God forbid we ever have a difference of opinion as fans and followers of club. Please keep these conversations going, great content
This is a great combination. Craig talks from the supporters point of view & David more addresses the issues that the club itself faces when making decisions on recruitment, team selection etc
Chiesa is not match fit, because he lacks a pre-season and if we're honest the EPL is more physically demanding than Serie A. Elliott doesn't seem to be physically capable to battle in the midfield and he won't usurp Salah in Harvey's original RW role.
I would disagree with David pushing back on the CB call. We had two solid starters and two backups with an academy product up until Matip left. Now we have a 34 year old who will need some rest, Konate that is at an elevated risk for injury, and Gomez as a back up that helps cover the whole back line. Quansah is still a developing academy product and would say that position takes longer to develop as they must understand their positioning so well to perform the position at a Premier league level. We need that extra back to have a reliable cover as Gomez is more often needed on the fullback positions this season.
@@allanm3247 Craig has pointed out Guehi from Crystal Palace as an option as he would get rotation into the lineup and is only 24. Another target would be Inacio or Diomande from Sporting now that Almorim left. Young solid talent that is near the point of being starters for when VVD finally calls an end to his amazing career.
Graig, I am also disappointed to hear about the possible selling of Harvey Elliott. He was not even given a chance. He is a player in him I saw a talent when he was playing unde Klopp. It is unfair that he has not been given a chance to play under Arne Slot
David Lynch does not learn. We played 5 games in 17 days-and when it happend to Klopp , we lost Alison, Trent, Salah, Endo, Gravenberch, Jota, we played with kids because of over playing our first team..,Mr Lynch, some of us have been watching LFC since 1956, not 1986
and i have been watching lfc since 2020 even i understand that injuries ruin a squad. lack of ambition fc at it again . we have the smallest club mentality among the big 6 clubs
Remind yourselves that transfers and academy players have helped us win 3 trophies over the last 3 seasons...plus we are leading the EPL and CL...lately we are seeing a weakness at LB (similar to what happened to our midfield 3 years ago) that needs to be addressed (we need Mr. Versatile Joe Gomez back asap / also Endo seems to be very versatile as well, and is underutilized)...I believe we have an excellent midfield that could eventually use another 6...we also could use another CB...at forward a lot will depend on the final decision regarding Mo...a lot of our "over-worked" players (yes...including Mo) need more platooning (60-30 or 70-20 minute splits) to be more rested and productive over a long season...we have a decently deep squad as is...you can't have a super huge squad just because you might get injuries...be more positive!!
Liverpool have a history of having a week or more off say in Dubai and then coming home and playing badly. They were really poor last night. Endo looked so hesitant, Gravenberch looked 😢shot, Jones was dire, Bradley looked nervous, Tsimikas and Quansah nearly gave the game away with suicidal passes, as did Allison thinking he’s a dribbler. Salah only gets a rest because we are playing Accrington Stanley! Also what’s Elliot done to Slot? The way things are going when Slot said “let’s go for an Italian” (Chiesa) half the side went to a restaurant!
If you still win the trophies with fsg model way then why would they sell liverpool to anyone they would think "oh our buisness model is working fine we are winning trophies so why would listen fans" complain
The issues aren't the owners,,, the issue is wages and transfer fees are growing at a faster rate than turnover. Until something is done about that, nothing will change.
The fsg model cannot work for another ten years no signings will burn the players out manager can only do a certain amount and I now believe fsg need to go
With all due respect. Last seasons injury crisis wasn’t a one off! A season or two before we was in the same boat and relying on Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams at centre back etc.. big question marks over the quality of our squad in depth. Could you rely on Elliot and jones to play week in week out and challenge for the major honours! 🤔
City signing 3 players in January stop talking rubbish, most fans understand what Fsg are and we hate them for it they are cheaper then relegation threatened sides.
Why do people keep blaming FSG, it’s Martin Edwards and Richard Hughes who were put in charge of our transfer business. People are straw manning about FSG saying no to transfers. If those 2 wanted a player, they would get them. They are the ones not doing their jobs, including handling the contracts.
David it’s not about numbers in a squad it’s about reliability of those numbers in respect of fitness because our centre halves with exception of a Virgil are injury prone this is a massive concern with very little quality back up,as games now come thick and fast and everyone of them is pretty much a cup final so intense and pressurised.
I totally agree. But if you can’t rely on a Konate you have to sell him because you can’t carry five centre-backs. Nobody is going to come and be fifth choice.
@ I think that could be a decision for the summer Dave and how his and other player’s fitness plays out for the remainder of the season,Jota being a similar problem at the other end, great player when fit but can miss a third of the season to injury as he did at Wolves. We have 6 forwards for 3 places plus Danns so arguably in that area we are over subscribed but I believe that’s what Slot wants? I am with you 4 Centre halves should be enough if they are all fit for purpose predominantly?
Have to say as frustrated as I am after the loss I still agree with david, if we need to get a loss out of the way that was the game to do it. Iv no doubt if we need to we can beat spurs at anfield. It's how we can respond now
David Lynch seems like a nice guy but he is a journo towing the company line that isn’t going to speak out of turn. The performance was shite against United you can’t justify choosing the same players, the performance wasn’t fine last night. With regard to transfers they (David) don’t really know anything just spouting the company BS to blow smoke over the -Robles we have. We have need a LB/LCB and a DM for years now and it is clearly unacceptable no excuses
The fact that Slot had to go to Endo (who he doesn’t trust at DM to go CB) is prime reason why David is wrong. It’s not blocking Quansah’s progression if you are good enough you’ll get game time. Hincapie would be ideal can play LB or LCB. As for Chiesa I see it is a way to make a few £m by Edward’s, he’s on £150k a week and we are saving him to play against Accrington Stanley or the under 21s it’s baffling.
I’m inclined to agree. I could listen to Craig and David talk football for longer than this but I hate to say it but journalists don’t wanna lose their access to press conferences etc and I think that’s true with him.
I for one am still a bit scarred from our demise at the end of last season . Not am I suggesting that it will reoccur, but I would like to see Slot rotate more frequently. No reason why Chiesa , Endo , Elliott and Darwin can't start in lower profile games The manager tends to stick to the same players which he did in the Netherlands, but the pl as he agrees is a different kettle of fish
Well said, craig . that one needed to be done call it out no messing around and done in the right way . I think David enjoyed it to hopefully he gets the bottle to call the club out now 👍
Was craig's microphone recording for this video? seems like a different audio source to usual i.e a camera etc or is it just me? Just don't know whether I'm imagining it
@@MegaTcarr That cant always be the cop out excuse. Look at all the world's best defenders when they were young through the decades. They don't commit the AMOUNT of all the mistakes JQ has done so far, and its A LOT of mistakes. At best, Jarell is just a mid to bottom club or Championship material. Sad really cos I want him to do well, instead have been going bonkers watching him thus far.
10:50 Can you tell me a club with 5 center halves but oh lets exclude the one club thats won the league 4 seasons on the bounce who we are trying to dethrone....
Totally agree with David on this, I was watching the Spurs game - we deserved at least a draw - we lost at the end because of a terrible decision by the ref. This makes the second leg more difficult now but if we’re on it we turn it around and go to Wembley still. I think Quansah might benefit from going out on loan to top end of the Championship if possible, which means we would need to bring in a cb though.
Craig, great respectful debate. I respectfully disagree with David. Its not about numbers, its about having the players you can rely o to jump in to help the team. The defense needs an update...a new CB (VVD is not getting any younger) and a new LB (robertson cant hack it anymore and Kostas is not up to standard). If Trent goes, Bradley will be RB but will need a backup. Im all for bringing youth in but other than Quansah, dont note any other academy players breaking through for the defense. And whether David like it or not, liverpool fans or not going over the top about transfers. As fans we can all see where the weaknesses are and just want thwm addressed. This nonesense of no need or happy to go with what we have season on season is crazy. Its about addressing the key areas not about trying to become a chelsea or city.
Klopp has had a few really bad January's are we on for another one with Slot or are we going to turn it around, if so is a new or underused player the key?
We are incredibly spoiled as fans. I've been a fan since the early 70s. In 1977, for example, winning the league (by one point) we had only 23 wins, along with 11 draws and 8 losses. No one would argue that that was a bad side (Kevin Keegan's last season).
Respect Craig but his overuse of the word “unacceptable” really takes away from the meaning of the word. I think saying last nights performance was unacceptable is way too harsh, even though it was poor
It needs context though and what I believe I said was that it is unacceptable off the back of another poor display against United. Either way, thank you for watching and for your feedback. Have a lovely evening 🤝
Arne Slot the "Head Coach" is being made a scape goat before press conferences when the team performance dip whereas Michael Edwards,Richard Hughes & John W Henry do not because they would come under scrutiny when there's no transfer activity taking place.
Another great team with David! I love the debate, and David's experience & knowledge are top-notch. There is no way that I could calmly argue like him!
We are no longer mentality monsters. We take teams for granted with some sort of elitist mindset especially towards mid table to lower table clubs.. We need to respect the opponent no matter their rank and punish them.
No we don’t at all. Klopp has been gone half a season some of these players are adapting from playing for years Klopps way and are doing amazing with this new coach. Liverpool show everyone respect as they always have. Mo Salah trains as hard now as he ever has Virgil is still the best in the world. Where do you get that they are “elitist”? The reason we are doing so well is because they are professionals. Usually a team is a reflection of their manager does Slot come across as elitist and disrespectful? I have been watching Liverpool since the 80s and I totally disagree with your opinion but each to their own.
That’s why we’re top of the league top of champions league and in a semi final of the first knockout competition we have entered this year Wtf are you on about
@nickfallon81 you watching the club since the 80s is irrelevant. I'm talking about the pattern of us doing poorly against some of the clubs on the lower end of the table.
In my opinion David is right about the number of centre backs. Four is the right amount. No need for 5. With quansah you either have him as forth choice or sell him. No point bringing in another centre back ahead of him blocking his minutes. We can discuss if his position can be improved upon but it’s a waste of a squad place having a fifth centre half. All my opinion. YNWA!!
Sometimes I think even with that the manager should accept that he made a mistake trusting quansah and rectify it. He can freeze him out and sell him in the summer. He’s 4th choice cb at best and even at that he’s not cutting it.
@@somy-mz8cd 100% agree. And we get more leverage since he signed a new deal a couple of months ago. Im sure a lot of clubs will look at him even with his stocks diminishing.
We have players on the bench we never use. Seems we want to sell them without buying replacements. Then there is the contract situation with three of our top players. Dark days ahead.
Fair enough. Changed my mind about squad selection now makes sense. CB can be an issue if both Ibou and Gomez injured but main concern is Gravenberch and him being over played we need another DM. A left back but before that sell Nunez, wonder if theyve even tried giving him to Frankfurt and getting Marmoush in, though now he looks city bound and when he's on fire here then we'll realise we should have gone for him like we do a lot of the time. N i dont wanna see Harvey go
David, you're underestimating our intelligence and thinking we haven't thought these things through that's insulting. Kwanzaa could be loaned out. Get valuable minutes at a nice mid-table team that I'm sure would love to have him. We could bring in a top rated center back to shore up our back line
Well done, Craig for calling David out on the transfer situation not saying he’s wrong but I do agree with Craig but I also agree with what David said as if you’re not gonna play Joel sell him and the same with Endo
We also can't forget quansah only has half a season of first team experience. And like most academy players there's going to be highs and lows in their performances. He shouldn't be treated like a seasoned veteran and should have some lean way.
I think with the Goal keeper situation on who should get what games, Alli should get the prem/Champions league for obvious reasons, Kelleher should get the caraboa cup and then Jaros should get FA cup. We have 3 top keepers that should have their own tournament to play in. Just my opinion on the keeper stuff
Thanks guys always enjoy these vids, this 1 bit more heated than usual,i like it,lol. See both your point off view regarding centre backs, hope no more injuries but i think we either play ebdo more or sign dm,left back a must for me,preferably in jan,Robertson lost it,he was great but sadly no more kostas just not good enough. YNWA
I agree with David on the CB issue but we really need another midfielder I just don’t get how Hughes is getting away with doing F all since he’s been in.
Elliot really could've played more, obviously Chiesa. Though I'm Guessing we're building Chiesa for if/when Salah drops off like he sometimes does late winter, early spring
Just read Doak could be on his way, a 20 million deal with ten in add ons. Also two clubs are weighing up a deal for Elliott, Brighton and B Dortmund. Don't know if these are serious but I really hope we don't sell either. The way things are going FSG are gonna have to buy a new team next season with all the players possibly leaving.
Like David, yes I expected a strong starting team, but he misses the point of why Harvey Elliott wasn't brought on, even just for fitness. Against Man U he played 5 minutes or so, not enough time to make an impact, but made a fantastic pass to Salah down the right. Take Salah out of the equation, Harvey is our most creative player. Jones created zip in 90 minutes.
Lets be honest the only positions that we have abundance of options on is goalkeeping and left wing all other positions are areas of concern. Chiesa is a great backup for Salah and the front 3 and Elliot is a better player and more creative and a goal threat outside the box than Jones plus Quansah is not good enough to play for a big club. Endo was one of our best players last season but let me rest my case..
Finally a good debate. David seems like a nice guy but his narrative is way too positive which makes him look like another cog in the fsg pr machine. I hope you guys can have these kind of debates
Would of liked to of heard David Lynch starting 11 this Sat, if he was to rest Virgil who would he start there, cannot be Quansa and Konate as both right sided, so if he would go for Endo who is not a centre back how can he say we don't need a centre back signing.
True but sometimes he pushes the boat a little bit. Like its a bad thing to say that we are in a crossroads and we haven’t done enough in the summer. Its as simple as that.
100% agree with DL always gives context , measured & balanced on this, easy on career mode, get him out the door, sell him, buy that one ,start him, cant stand sensationalism.
I find myself agreeing with both Craig and david , yes we need CDM and CB but the players we have are good enough to beat teams like spurs and united YNWA
I personally agree with Craig rather than David. I still respect David’s view, and I also have immense respect for him as a person and his career. Keep it up Craigo, Maybe try and bring back the peterbrough united chairman too 🎉
I loved that. The fire in david 😂. Look! we will beat spurs on the second game BUT i do think Newcastle will win the Cup. Can't win every game but yes we have dropped off a little but hopefully we can finish rest of the season off strong.

Craig makes his living feeding fake foreign transfer news to people . Bad news sells subscriptions.
I for one am still a bit scarred from our demise at the end of last season .
Not am I suggesting that it will reoccur, but I would like to see Slot rotate more frequently.
No reason why Chiesa , Endo , Elliott and Darwin can't start in lower profile games
The manager tends to stick to the same players which he did in the Netherlands, but the pl as he agrees is a different kettle of fish
Well said, craig .
that one needed to be done call it out no messing around and done in the right way . I think David enjoyed it to hopefully he gets the bottle to call the club out now 👍
GOOD EVENING GREETINGS FROM THE HEATHROW AIRPORT AREA OF WEST LONDON CRAIG n DAVID ✌🏽
Was craig's microphone recording for this video? seems like a different audio source to usual i.e a camera etc or is it just me? Just don't know whether I'm imagining it
I don’t think so but I will certainly double check it
i hear the difference too, i believe it occurs when craig is doing interviews. it seems fine when he is on his own.
@ thought so must be the software they use fairplay
Well said Craig
When are we going to say that Jarrel is not good enough for Liverpool..needs to move him on.
He's young and just needs time and experience.
Endo was WAY better at cb when he came in
@@MegaTcarr That cant always be the cop out excuse.
@@MegaTcarrhe is 22 at the end of this month not really young anymore
10:50 Can you tell me a club with 5 center halves but oh lets exclude the one club thats won the league 4 seasons on the bounce who we are trying to dethrone....
Kostas has to start infront of Robbo im afraid to say.
A squashed road-cone should start over Robb right now
We had Endo at the back in an important game. Nuf said.
Great discussion lads.
UCL and EPL trophies for lfc will fail again this season mark my words, the aura of bottling has begun to be felt
1. predicting someone NOT to win a UCL is not impressive
2. if liverpool win the league you better remember that you aren't as smart as you think
No that's what your hoping for
@@DavyMagowan There is nothing more to expect from them they will pack all the trophies in the next month, bottling and seasonal routines
@@siim_mar000defenses and nonsense that are always heard every season
youre a Manc
We need a left footed Joe Gomez (plays across backline) and then Tsmikas or even Robbo would need to go
Jorrel Hato - LB/CH
Arne Slot the "Head Coach" is being made a scape goat before press conferences when the team performance dip whereas Michael Edwards,Richard Hughes & John W Henry do not because they would come under scrutiny when there's no transfer activity taking place.
Quansah could be loaned out to a Championship club to get minutes
@ I agree at the minute he’s not cutting it. So I think we can improve on his position by selling and replacing rather then get a fifth
@@somy-mz8cd 100% agree. And we get more leverage since he signed a new deal a couple of months ago. Im sure a lot of clubs will look at him even with his stocks diminishing.
@@celestinotannous2170 how much you reckon we’ll get for him?
@@somy-mz8cd we can get 30-40 million for him
We have players on the bench we never use.
We need a centre half and a new left back
We also can't forget quansah only has half a season of first team experience. And like most academy players there's going to be highs and lows in their performances. He shouldn't be treated like a seasoned veteran and should have some lean way.
We are done. Every season we bottle it. It's not good
How about you get your own Podcast David... would luv that
twas indeed an enjoyable conversation.
arne is ace but it seems to make sense using endo more.
FSG are a 1 summer signing only club,
end of….!
Scrooge mongers
I think Craig goes go pretty hard and heavy on signings and transfer windows
YNWA
loved it craig!!great show
I agree with David on the CB issue but we really need another midfielder I just don’t get how Hughes is getting away with doing F all since he’s been in.
Elliot really could've played more, obviously Chiesa.
Though I'm Guessing we're building Chiesa for if/when Salah drops off like he sometimes does late winter, early spring
We don't sign ANYONE.
Why can't Quansa get loaned out?
If Liverpool get £40 Million for Darwin, that's about all they will get.he isn't worth any more.
Quansah has been poor, terrible against Newcastle, terrible against Fulham.
David lynch hasn't a clue what he's talking about, he just has a job in football.
That’s not true and I always enjoy his thoughts. I might not agree with him all the time but his views are sincerely held
Ange said it wasn't recklessness, so no yellow 😅
Do we go with and sign a another gomez or endo type of player who can play different positions?
Signing a CB doesn't mean you're blocking Quansah's pathway. It means you're giving him competition, and if he's good enough, he'll thrive.
Even if we are fine at CB, we aren’t fine at DM or LB.
I do like this more back and forth debate! I don’t normally watch these but I think it was a Good show
Glad that you enjoyed it and thank you for watching
Like David, yes I expected a strong starting team, but he misses the point of why Harvey Elliott wasn't brought on, even just for fitness. Against Man U he played 5 minutes or so, not enough time to make an impact, but made a fantastic pass to Salah down the right. Take Salah out of the equation, Harvey is our most creative player. Jones created zip in 90 minutes.
Honestly lots of us giving up on this ownership Liverpool spending less money compared to smaller teams
We do need a new LB with ability to defend, use both feet and cross the ball well
Finally a good debate. David seems like a nice guy but his narrative is way too positive which makes him look like another cog in the fsg pr machine. I hope you guys can have these kind of debates
Glad you enjoyed it
Would of liked to of heard David Lynch starting 11 this Sat, if he was to rest Virgil who would he start there, cannot be Quansa and Konate as both right sided, so if he would go for Endo who is not a centre back how can he say we don't need a centre back signing.
I think David talks a lot sense and he is very good at what he does.
True but sometimes he pushes the boat a little bit. Like its a bad thing to say that we are in a crossroads and we haven’t done enough in the summer. Its as simple as that.
Not a bad thing^
He certainly is very good and I always enjoy chatting with him
@@AnfieldAgenda Craig really enjoyed that video, it’s good to see ye have a good debate without insulting each other 🤣.great job well done 👍
100% agree with DL always gives context , measured & balanced on this, easy on career mode, get him out the door, sell him, buy that one ,start him, cant stand sensationalism.
What you consider sensationalism is another man’s honest opinion
Great craic boys
There’s no one behind Virgil
The whole team is tired, we need some new players to refresh the team. We can't win the league with the way we are playing now
I find myself agreeing with both Craig and david , yes we need CDM and CB but the players we have are good enough to beat teams like spurs and united YNWA
Love a good debate guys two cleaver people talking proper football talk keep it up guys class video @david @craig
Thank you sir
22 nearly level.players in ability is ok providing they have a decent injury record
How about having four good CB’s?
I personally agree with Craig rather than David. I still respect David’s view, and I also have immense respect for him as a person and his career. Keep it up Craigo, Maybe try and bring back the peterbrough united chairman too 🎉
I’ll definitely get Darragh back on for a chat before the season ends
@@AnfieldAgenda thanks Craig. See you next stream. Look out in the chat 👍👋
Asneal got more than 5 centre half
I think sell Qanza and sign a CB that will replace and be understudy for VVD
Why can't you sell Joe Gomez? Just curious. David?
I like David, but he did feel like an FSG mouthpiece on this one.
I loved that. The fire in david 😂.
Look! we will beat spurs on the second game BUT i do think Newcastle will win the Cup. Can't win every game but yes we have dropped off a little but hopefully we can finish rest of the season off strong.
City has signed marmoush under our nose
The Lynch Mobb came to beef
We need players in 2 minimum
