Great video. I read Carmilla back in October, I’m a massive fan of Dracula but arguable Carmilla is much better. It predated Dracula by about 25 years but it feels much more modern. If another prompt comes up that fits it, it’s definitely worth a read. The Name of the Wind is pretty great, it was my gateway to modern fantasy which I hadn’t really read much as an adult until a few years ago. I agree about Tress, it’s good and standalone, but it helps if you’ve some context for his wider Cosmere series. Looks like you’ve an interesting month in January 😁
Thank you so much! Love the book feedback 😄 I am thinking I miiiight save Carmilla for October, as it does seem like a perfect spooky season read. I will 100% be reading it sometime in 2025 though, that is for sure! Also The Name of the Wind and also Tress (and hopefully the entire Cosmere), haha. Those three books are all *high* up on my TBR.
I love your monthly tbr picks so much, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on all of these! Also thank you for the mention 🫶 I think Carmilla would be great in October, definitely gothic Halloween vibes! I love Baldurs Gate 3 haha and D&D is sooo fun haven’t played since middle school but gosh where those days good! Hope you can find a group who’s up for playing one day!! P.S. I’ve heard that you need to read the series Amber in The Ashes first before reading Heir! Apparently it’s a continuation of the same characters and you’d be spoiling yourself a bunch if you read Heir first 🥲
Thank you! 💜 And thank you for so many good recommendations all the time! I will *definitely* be reading Carmilla this year, maybe in October, but also maybe sooner, haha Thank you! I hope so too, but until then I am happy playing BG3, haha And oh my goodness, thank you SO much for this notice!!! I had *no* idea and I was about to start reading Heir soon!! 😱 I will just cheat and swap it out for the EIA series then, haha. Thank you so much!!
