Never in my life have I watched a movie or played a game where I wanted the protagonists to reflect my gender. At least not before this whole neo-feminism / woke stuff started.
I didn't want Ellen Ripley to be a man, I didn't want Sarah Connor to be a man, I didn't want Lara Croft to be a man... I also didn't want anyone to share my exact melanin count either.

Personally, I prefer to play as a woman. Plus, there are plenty of men out there who do and have thrown fits about being forced to play as a woman in games meanwhile forgetting we have been forced to play men for so long.
I do agree with you to a degree, but I think its more nuanced. Lara croft is written as a woman, if you want to play tomb raider as a male you subscribe to that idea of experiencing a story with a female protagonist. The character doesnt reflect you, you just play it.
But if its a game where either can choose a character or create one it can become important because its you who writes the character. At this point it doesnt matter if you are a male who wants to play as a male/female or a woman wanting to play as a woman/male. Both is fine, they key is having the option to choose.
I support this as long as we dont start to get silly characters that dont fit counter strike.

Helldivers did armour properly, once the helmets on and the protection is there the only thing left is the voice (which I left in random for the “disposable soldier in my persistent ship” feel).
If people can do the job their builds trend towards homogeneity as each physical job tends to need specific things.
There is agreement in CS pro scene, that everyone uses default models, at least during tournaments. And for default models, there is just 2, single T and single CT model. So that there is no issues with enemy recognition interfering with games. The fact that they're requesting for default female models simply means that they're not serious competitors.

I believe that last clip have more impact on "lack of female player" then no free female operator.
I'm not playing games because there are male characters, I'm playing games because they are fun.
If you add a female character in a competitive game, you should make a correct hitboxes to the body scale. And since that - everyone will start playing on female characters because of the same was a told before - smaller size of body and hitboxes.

If they just said "We want females because we wanna play as women by default too" instead of claiming sexism it probably would've happened
Please don't let them dilute CS's realism more than they already have. COD is such a great example. The franchise went from gritty realism to Starbucks' rush hour. Like holy hell.

i love seeing the shift. when i was playing xbox 360 if there was a girl in the lobby her friends list would be full within minutes and everyone would be simping. now its an instant kick because its too dangerous, you may say something wrong and get cancelled lol
I honestly think that, to a non-casual gamer, adding more character models can only be hindering. The past release of skin models is evident of the fact how game disruptive it can be.
A solution to make everyone happy would be to make models client-sided, which would allow for any ridiculous wish these casuals may have, but it would need to be well implemented.
So.... Like how Counter Strike Source worked? For context, you could add client-side skins fur models, sounds, and textures.
A real solution to make everybody (God's of the 4th dimension too) is to release the freaking HL3

Its a game based around being an operator that is dropped into an active warzone situation. Women aren't default characters because they are not operators. They still can't pass the reduced requirements for entry level special forces training. But yeah, lets cry about them not being in a videogame about this.
