True. Sometimes watching the movies with many people can really ruin the experience. Like the times I hear people laughing at sad moments or all of the audience being generally being loud. Watching the movies by yourself or watching with you and your friends is a really great experience.

My daughter told me that after her husband left for work & she got her daughter to school she would go to the movies ALONE! She said it was " her private special time" and told me to try it. The theater is 5 minutes from my home, so I went the very next morning and I LOVED IT !!!😁😂😁Now I have my own private time TWICE A MONTH !!!😍😎
I think it's happened to me two or three times, and the very first occurrence was a horror movie, where the lights and screen went dark at the start of the end credits, and I sat alone in the dark for 10-20 minutes before a staff member came in to clean up and got spooked to see someone sitting in the dark. I didn't move for three reasons: my phone was dead, I was patiently waiting for the film attendant to reset the movie in order to light the room, and I was pretty scared from the movie to walk around blindly.
“Don’t need to make energy making conversations” Literally me with my friends or family at the movies: “I wanted to sit there!” “Scoot over!” “Pass me the popcorn!” *people constantly passing through the aisle to use the bathroom* “Can I have some?” “Lemme have some!” “Share!!” “Move!!” Anyone else relate?
I worked at a local three screen movie theater all throughout high school, and while I was home during college. It was my favorite job ever! Sadly, it recently got sold and is now owned by a church. I’ll miss Showplace 3! Movie theaters are probably one of my favorite places to be. I’m with you on the nachos, I love that neon orange “cheez” sauce haha!
I’m the same way. I ADORE going to the movies by myself. I love going with friends also but there is something special about going alone and just being in your own world getting into the movie. I love it.
I can't ever leave the house so my me-time is usually hot tea/coffee with music, comic books, video games, or tv/movies in my room. Or just go for walks around the block whenever I can. Its not much but its something I really enjoy. Your movie thing seems pretty tight though can't lie
SAME GIRL, SAME!!! love my friends but there's much less hassle when going by myself. I've also found that going to concerts by myself works too. Never thought in a million years I would be comfortable enough to do that but here I am 6 concerts later (2 of which were BTS), most out of state, and more on the way. But with concerts, you can show up alone but leave with a handful of new friends.
I used to laugh at my old teacher for going to the movies alone, he said it allows him to “actually watch the movie” About a decade later, I see how valid his point was/is I can enjoy watching a movie by myself (mostly do it like this) as well as with others Lisa, you are not alone 😃
@@lee-pz8ww i watched it couple weeks ago and in my opinion it was really garbage. thats maybe just me but all these "super hero" movies are way too predictable and i found the story way too boring because it was like 5% story and 95% fighting. at some point it was such a long intense fight i forgot why they even started fighting
It's healthy to get time with self and don't spend energy through gathering like you said. It's a yin yang circulation. You need to sometimes be alone to appreciate the company of friends and sometimes be surrounded by friends and people to appreciate the calm of loneliness. But the most important part is to appreciate each during the time spent to earn energy and not regret the othe
Going alone is the best! (Though I usually do matinee screenings when I can.) You can see whatever you want, eat whatever you want, dress however you want, and sit wherever you want. I’ve really missed going to the theater. Even if the movie’s not that good, to me the experience is worth it. My local fancy theater likes to do a Miyazaki month and I hope that someday I can catch Howl’s Moving Castle or Princess Mononoke on the big screen for the first time. But, covid’s still icky and I’m currently doing a dental plan that makes snacking irritating (and you can’t not get that popcorn when you can smell it!)
I'm asking my friends from a week but they aren't going with me, but I'm scared to go alone, please tell me how did you gather the courage to go to the theatre alone
@@UnknownGuy_22 Admittedly, this question is a tricky one for me to answer. I’m a pretty nervous, low-risk person. And even though I love going to the movies on my own, I still experience a lot of anxiety up until I’m finally in my seat. I think, in general, it’s really just a matter of weighing what’s more important. “Doing something that might be nerve-racking in the moment, but ultimately having a good time and building a fun memory” vs. “not doing that thing for the sake of immediate comfort.” I’d much rather go out there in spite of my anxieties than just… do nothing. And I also try to detach myself for a moment and look at things from a more realistic perspective. As long as you’re polite and quiet, no one’s gonna notice you or care that you’re by yourself. They’re gonna be focused on the movie or their friends/date. I also try to streamline the movie-going process as much as I can (which can vary depending on which theater I go to.) I buy my ticket/seat online, I plan out what snacks I want in advance so I don’t get analysis paralysis in the moment, I make sure to go to the bathroom at home before I leave, I get there a little bit early so I have plenty of time and so I don’t rush. And that gives me time in my seat to just kinda wind down before the movie starts.
@@KlutzyNinjaKitty thanks man, I'm also planning to go alone, all by myself and since its a latest movie theatre will not be empty atleast, if not full, let's see what happens I'm just 17 so it would be my first experience going alone to the theatre
I love eating and going to movies etc alone. I moved in with a girl at 18 due to us both going through some stuff and I've been with her ever since. I'm almost 28 now. We got pregnant, had kids at 19. I've literally never been alone so the once a year outing I get alone and with peace and quiet is treasured. However both kids are in school and she just started working yesterday. I can finally have more consistent alone time
I remember I went to the movies alone a few times. I remember when Black Swan had first came out back in 2010. I came out of class early that afternoon and I decided to just buy a ticket and watch the movie. The movie theater was practically empty and I was so absorbed in the movie and enjoyed it that it was a pretty great experience. Imagine having a whole theater to yourself. I don't know if I would be able to do that now though I feel like I would be more self-conscious/judged by others but it was pretty great that one time. Pleasant memory
Tip: Buy your snacks & beverages at the $.99 store. Then catch an early matinee for a similar experience with extra money in your pocket. 🥤🍫🍿🍬 Anyone else like their popcorn mixed with peanut M&M’s?
I was just considering going to see shang-chi by myself cause all my friends have seen it already! I reckon I will now actually. I can still enjoy a movie by myself but I do like enjoying it with others as well

I totally agree with the solo movie runs. I actually like to go early afternoon or late morning when it's empty and everything is fresh! I used to do it every chance I got. I dont mind eating out alone either. It gives me the opportunity to immerse myself in the atmosphere and enjoy my food without a bunch of idle chit-chat. It also gives me a chance to meet new people and determine how good or bad a restaurant is on every level.
If you have problems with anxiety like me, going to the movies alone is an amazing way to cope. It's hard buying the tickets but once you get into the actual theater it won't be awkward especially if there's only a few people in the theater.
This is very relatable! No one will interrupt you, you don’t have to worry about making a mess and cleaning it up later, you have the whole theater to yourself, and I also eat all or majority of my snacks before the movie starts lol
I’ve never thought about going to the movies alone I feel like I would be nervous or feel judged, but it’s great to see other people so comfortable with it.
Going to the movie theaters with a huge bucket of popcorn, a large soda, and lots and lots of different snacks and candies used to be one of my favorite things. I miss that
I watched the new My Hero movie in theatre alone! It was so enjoyable to watch a film about a show that means so much to me, it was such a personal, self-loving outing.

@@l.lawliet1838 but still, i feel anxious in public places
My daughter told me that after her husband left for work & she got her daughter to school she would go to the movies ALONE! She said it was " her private special time" and told me to try it. The theater is 5 minutes from my home, so I went the very next morning and I LOVED IT !!!😁😂😁Now I have my own private time TWICE A MONTH !!!😍😎
Being the only person in the theater is so awesome and so rare. GO Milk Duds! 🤗
@@rosalee477 oh man that sounds so scary lol ! how did you hold out in the pitch black after a horror movie for like 20 minutes >
It’s very important being comfortable being your own person in a group
I do the exact same thing! I go by myself and love it! Thank goodness someone else does it to. I always go alone and I feel free!!!
Dining alone and watching a movie alone is almost like a therapy.
“Don’t need to make energy making conversations”
Literally me with my friends or family at the movies:
“I wanted to sit there!”
“Scoot over!”
“Pass me the popcorn!”
*people constantly passing through the aisle to use the bathroom*
“Can I have some?”
“Lemme have some!”
“Share!!”
“Move!!”
Anyone else relate?
Not anymore since March 2020
@@freshacado4304 That’s kinda depressing
@@freshacado4304 yikes. We opened up sorry 😬
Family gatherings definitely consume energy making conversations 😂
Honestly i really enjoy sharing emotions during movie with my family but also i like being alone
I literally love all of your videos and now I'm addicted. LOL 😂
I used to laugh at my old teacher for going to the movies alone, he said it allows him to “actually watch the movie”
About a decade later, I see how valid his point was/is
I can enjoy watching a movie by myself (mostly do it like this) as well as with others
Lisa, you are not alone 😃
Popcorn is the best 🍿😋 + thank you lisa My appetite is back because of u
Same
If I go to the movies alone I usually go early in the morning when they just opened
This is the perfect example of being in the present.
Definitely always finish the nachos before the movie starts.
Ah that is so weird! I literally watched Shang-Chi yesterday at the movies! It was so good!
Off topic, but Shang Chi was awesome. Love that movie. Have fun, Lisa.
Bruh, just being alone and doing something you like feels so relaxing, being your own company and not having to worry about anything is the best!
I used to think it was really sad and humiliating to see people alone at the movies, but now that I’m older it’s absolutely blissful 🥰
Side note: Just watched Shang Chi yesterday and it’s *so good!* Literal *10/10.*
I watched it last week! And yes 10/10!
@@virikameni 8/10 for me
10/10 for me also i watched it around the time it first came out.
It’s so beautiful
@@lee-pz8ww i watched it couple weeks ago and in my opinion it was really garbage. thats maybe just me but all these "super hero" movies are way too predictable and i found the story way too boring because it was like 5% story and 95% fighting. at some point it was such a long intense fight i forgot why they even started fighting
I love seeing a movie with my wife, but sometimes seeing a movie on my own just hits different. Snacks are mandatory!
Thanks for the vlog. I really needed to see someone still enjoying a day at the theater.
YES! Buncha crunch is strictly a movie snack! Same with cookie dough bites, maybe raisinets and twizzlers too
Going alone is the best!
Also, for a fancier snack, I prefer pretzel bites with that plastic cheese. Yum 🤤
I can finally have more consistent alone time
I am a nacho person too and I like to eat all my snacks before the the movie starts
Yessss I love doing things alone and even started a series to inspire others, I loved this so much! 🥰🥰❤️
Tip:
Buy your snacks & beverages at the $.99 store. Then catch an early matinee for a similar experience with extra money in your pocket.
🥤🍫🍿🍬
Anyone else like their popcorn mixed with peanut M&M’s?
I was just considering going to see shang-chi by myself cause all my friends have seen it already! I reckon I will now actually. I can still enjoy a movie by myself but I do like enjoying it with others as well
I’m going to go alone too!
I've been thinking of going to see the new Wes Anderson film The French Dispatch by myself. I don't know who I would take with me. This video really helped. 😊
It looks so good.
You’re amazing❤️
I 100% enjoy going to the movies alone, especially weekend mornings. It's comforting and relaxing.
Day 123 of asking
Can you instead of just eating the level 7 noodles right away do it step-by-step? so by the time you get to 7 you’ll be ready!!😁
What's level 7 noodles??
@@Cat_tiee One of her first challenges was trying level seven noodles at this restaurant, she failed at first so I’m suggesting that she starts from level one and keeps going step-by-step to level seven so that she has a better chance of completing it

I remember when my parents were going through a time of seperation, and No parent was there at home most of the time so I was like 15yrs old then I used to feel so empty and lonely so I started to go movies all by myself and without even telling anyone! That was the best adventure:)
SO TRUE! It was my first time going to the movies & eating out alone again (after a breakup). Best birthday treat ever 💯
I've done a ton of research and bought a popcorn machine, but nothing can replicate movie theatre popcorn. Im so glad the theatres are still around.
I used to be comfortable doing this sometime back, but I appreciate the company a lot more now
I am obsessed with spacing out my snacks over the runtime of a movie.
I'm binge watching you. I just love you!
Lisa such a person bro like I appreciate her existence :)
Finally someone who doesn't think it's weird going to the movies alone
This is very relatable! No one will interrupt you, you don’t have to worry about making a mess and cleaning it up later, you have the whole theater to yourself, and I also eat all or majority of my snacks before the movie starts lol
I’ve never thought about going to the movies alone I feel like I would be nervous or feel judged, but it’s great to see other people so comfortable with it.
In reality, no one cares, trust me, just live ur life happily, enjoy the moment☺️
@@zhofz thank you I will.
Omg I love buncha crunch and nachos! Literally I always do that combo
The way you explained how special the movie theater experience is is exactly why I chose to work at one
"Energy making conversation" I like that
Going to the movies alone at night is actually really scary.
Yes Lisa same 👍👏 I love going to the movies by myself, it hits different! Also movie theater nachos are the only worthy movies snack, but as for candy I usually only get skittles and I usually get a coke.
GREAT ADVICE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS 😊
You sound like a really grounded person. It is really nice enjoying me time

I love this, it's so relaxing and I can watch a movie at my own pace
Bunch a Crunch are the best! Great choice, good taste!
Buncha crunch + popcorn is my go to movie snack. Perfection!
There have been times I’ve wanted to go to the movies but nobody was available, so next time I would like to go on my own so I can get that experience too :D It’s definitely on my bucket list now, thanks for sharing 😁
