Wow I just got whipped back to the early 2000’s when I had those airbrush markers. It was like one of those kids craft kit with stencils and coloring pages lol
Blow pens are the name of those markers 🤗 I think with the value of this box in particular they could have provided a cutting mat or some kind of protective surface 🤷♀️ Seems like a fun idea though just seems to fall a little short in supplies/value. Very unusual for upcrate
Yes totally agree with you , the idea is cool but the value is a bit lacking, is okay though because as you said this is very unusual for upcrate, actually it never happened to me , and I have been a subscriber fo over 2 years... Thank you for watching have an amazing day ❤
Thank you for sharing this. I hope all is well , I know it can be challenging maintaining a creative schedule and parenting. I think your doing an amazing job. Maybe one day I may try Upcrate you make it look like so much fun❤❤
Thanks for watching!! Yes sometimes it is , and I know you can relate, you should try a subscription art box , they are a lot of fun and Upcrate is definetely one of the best.
I like the box, is strange but fun is a new technique , so I enjoyed the idea, the cutter is 15 euros by itslef is true, and I am not convcerned about the value neither is always good with upcrate, just the free samples were a bit misleading but nothing big ... anyways thanks for sharing your opinion I really a ppreciate it !!
i totally agree. this box was not the value. 24€ (plus the shipping bc lets be honnest its not free for all countrys, my country is not free. so i pay 24€ on th end) is was NOT 24€... i was REALLY REALLY Dissapointed. i agree should be at least the same value.
Right...Ididn't know that! Where are you from? Anyways regardless of the shipping yeah I do think it should be the same value at least , I am ok just because this has never happened with one of their boxes before, but yea that free sample being listed 4 e each..didn't really like it ... Thanks for watching have a nice day!!
I agree with you that this box is underwhelming. The combination of what seems like a kid's art supply (the blow pens) and paints labeled "free sample" all in neutral colors feels like I didnt get anything good to play with. That's my main objective in getting subscription boxes, discovering new materials. Often I am immediately shopping for more of what came in the box. Not this month though. I feel like Upcrate is generally good, I dropped ArtSnacks and Sketchbox because they both were sending so many pencils!
Yes , it was a bit, not for the idea but for the content really, the free samples are definetely underwhelming... the trying new materials is probably my main objective too anyways as you said normally upcrate is a very good box so , in two years it can happen so let's hope better for the next one!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
I'm conflicted regarding the value of these boxes, sometimes I think it's ok if it's a little under value and you get to try out different types of materials- but only if they're generally worth more 😂 The box I get seems to generally be worth it, but once I take postage into consideration it's definitely worth it! I was disappointed as they seem to be really heavily pen based (albeit many different types) which has me considering cancelling as I'm not mega into having loads of pens. This month's upcrate would be good for kids, but it seems a little meh for adults- maybe if it'd came with a wee pump thing it would be more interesting, and the pump attachments for blow pens are quite cheap 😔
I think they should give you at least the full value of your money ... maybe not exactly in every box , but mostly...obviously is just an opinion, but I don't think they pay the full price ..and well you can check the opinion above to see my full opinion if you want , but I think upcrate is always on point for value etc, so I wouldn't have said something if it just was a couple of euros less , we normally get a lot more , what really rubbed me wrong was the bottlepost saying 12 euros retail on a free sample...I was a bit ...confused ... Anyways I would love to see some hukibox unboxing too !!
@@Romysartjournal I think it's fair to discuss value for money, no one wants to pay more than they need to. I must have missed the part about a sample being valued as part of the box- I think stickers, prints etc should not be considered! It was really the blow pens that got me thinking I would not have been happy with that particular box, although I'm usually impressed with what you have in them. I guess it evens out over time. I'm waiting on a batch of Christmas cards drying then I'll be sampling that tin. The paintbrush looks better than most kids sets so I'm hopeful 👍🤞
@@Romysartjournal I'm also just finishing my most recent hukibox video- I messed up the art by layering faaaar too much and ending up with dirty brown blobs in front of a lovely sunset 🤣
You seem to be very focused on the cost to the point that it took up most of the commentary on the box. I did not find that valuable because I'd rather hear more about your use of the products. One things I think we need to remember about subscription packages is that there is more than just the cost of the items, there the time needed to research products, to reach out to other artists who contribute, to get the products from the supplier, to conceptualise and write the text found in the monthly zine. And that probably most definitely cost more than the subscription price because of time. So when you spend time focusing on just the cost of the supplied, I think you miss all these other things that go into the subscription service. I'll be honest, if this is your approach, I would probably unsubscribe because I would get little value of how you engage with the products to create your art, and hearing your art story is more interesting. I don't think every month will ever be good, but I think the service that they offer overcomes that disappointment. And I can sympathies with your disappointment in cost, but I wouldn't want to listen for the bulk of the video audio, unless the video topic was to talk about the cost of subscriptions and products across alot of different art subs (eg upcrate, arsnacks, scrawlrbox) - that would be interesting and valuable.
Hey there Haunani, thank you very much for taking the time to write your opinion , I geniunely appreciate it , if you have watched my other Upcrate and scrawlrbox unboxing you know I don't normally focus on the price or value of the supplies that much , or at all in most cases , but what got me this time was the retail price on the zine being 12 euros while the bottle said Free Sample, I felt a little bit misled to be honest, and I am sure it was some kind of mistake , so I thought this time it was a good thing to discuss and get a conversation going, but I am sorry if you did not enjoy it. Anyways even if I understand the work behind these boxes is very valuable , and I appreciate it , I firstly think that subscription boxes owners do not pay the retail price of art supplies, as companies get value from getting people to sample their products and talk about them, and buying them in bulks aswell, also they get the value of having people subscribe and pay monthly, in some cases yearly and quite in advance , which as an entrepeneur I understand the huge value of, I do not believe their cost is higher than the box price, it would be a flawed business model in that case, but this is just my opinion. Thanks for watching , hope you'll have an amazing day!!
Thanks Haunani, that makes me happy!! :D but rest assured I really appreciated your previous comment too, you made some very interesting and valid points , so thank you for that , I hope my response did not read " aggressive" or offended, it was not my intention at all. Hope to talk to you again soon!!😊😊
@@Vagabondwitchh If this is how you feel, you may want to let upcrate know as I've seen from past boxes that they respond to feedback with added value to subsequent boxes (refer to the one about pencils). I totally disagree about the Zine. I found it great to refer to items but mostly, I'm introduced to other approaches and artist - my Instagram list has grown with artists. And I appreciate that exposure to techniques and art inspiration. But this is my opinion in response to yours. And as they say, "opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one."

The little Cutter Kniffe is quite expensive, so the cutter and the liquid color together equals the value of the Box, but it is a strange box
