I have both this set and the 72 PR Haiya set. The PR set you are featuring is more like the Mungyo Gallery set which I also own, they are soft but nowhere near as soft as both the PR Haiya or Sennelier sets, those are truly soft and a joy to work with if you like a very soft oil pastel. I do like the set you are talking about but for my taste much prefer the Haiya set (the 72 set is unavailable right now in America 😭).

What a beautiful cloud picture. I have ordered the Mungyo 48 set today. Sadly they do not appear to provide pigment or lightfastness information, so are not ideal for work that will be hung in the light. I intend to practice with these, and if I become proficient will gradually replace with Caran D'ache or Sennelier.

I just bought these, in the wooden box. But mine don't blend like in this video, no matter what I do! I tried both light and heavy applications, and it just looks like crayons. It refuses to blend away the lines. I tried using the side of the pastel, tried blending with different things...I tried on two different papers, both mixed media. One was Fabriano 135 lbs, textured, the other was 120 lbs and a bit smoother. I even tried with alcohol. I tried spraying it on then using a paint brush. I tried dipping a paint brush in alcohol. I tried dipping a paper towel in alcohol. I tried using a blow dryer to heat the pastel, and that did make more of it go on, but it only stays warm for about 10 seconds. I've watched dozens of videos, and even if I just put down one single color and do light to dark, it won't blend. It doesn't move the pigment. It's just the same as if I bought crayolas and then rubbed it with a paper towel. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have followed simple vidoes, and mine looks just like theirs before blending, but it just doesn't change to the more paint like consistency, even with alcohol.

More oil pastel tutorials please. Compare with Mungyo and other professional or artist grade oil pastels.

Hello there! Quick question. When you say Ivory Black, do you mean Black? Cause Sennelier doesn't carry an Ivory Black in oil pastels, only Black and Mars Black. So, I'm thinking you're using Black. If so, is that Black cool?

My pastel package from Crelando says "chalk pastels"... It says "25 pastel chalks" on the package. They unfortunately have quite a lot of fallout, even though the colors are very beautiful. What was your opinion on the amount of fallout/dusting of color?

I really like mungyo, my sister and her husband bought me the large set in the wooden box for Christmas I was totally surprised! But they just feel there investment will come back to them in the firm of paintings, which they do, surely they can't possibly have any wall space left!😄. Thank you for your review, yeah I can't find any singles either, but I did get a box of whites through Amazon I think the brand is basics.

They now offer a set of 120 in a nice wooden box. I'm gonna buy it one day. I have the 72 set now. These pastels are the best. I absolutely love them.

This is the exact video I needed, thank you! I had the Mungyo set in my Amazon cart along with the pack of whites from Paul Rubens, but I wanted to be sure, so I'm super happy that that combo is the way to go, lol :D

I've tried many Crelando branded art and stationery items and overall I think they're pretty good. unfortunately I didn't like the watercolors because I think they don't have the transparency of watercolors, so I don't recommend them. I like all the pens, the dry pastels, the charcoal sets, etc, but the watercolors didn't really convince me... Thanks for the video, it was great!

Try those small eyeshadow blender foams on sticks. They should last longer, and you can wipe off the color on a paper towel or old tshirt rag. You likely only need one per color family, and on for white and another for black.

You can use spike lavender to blend. Smells good and it’s natural.

I was torn between the two brands so this helped a lot, thank you. I'll be going for Mungyo pastels.

Hi I was watching the Mungyo vs Paul Rubens oil pastels video but comments were turned off. So I'm commenting here. Have you tried odorless mineral spirit instead of turpentine? OMS works well with colored pencils.
