Having traveled to Venice many times, we have always felt it is the most romantic city in the world. The memories of having dinner at Harry's Bar will never be forgotten!
Thank you for your walking videos. I love that you keep the street sounds in. I always feel like I took the walk with you! Look forward to the next one.
I'm heading up to Pisa and Florence tomorrow. I'll do a walk around Pisa and in Florence I'm just planning on a doing an evening Christmas lights walk. I hope you enjoy it.
Very nice! My first Christmas in over 20 years that i haven't seen Rome and Venice for Christmas and either Paris or London for New Years. Instead... I hang out in Little Italy in Manhattan and celebrated the ball drop in Times Square. See you all again soon.
This is my favorite of the Venice videos! No tourists to spoil it, beautiful Christmas lights, and nighttime to capture the true beauty, magic, and mystery of Venice! 💖
Beautiful city and mysterious! Traveled throughout Italy many years ago but never got to Venice! Youngest daughter is there right now on vacation then going to Greece and Romania! This allowed me to really be with her in spirit! She had just shared a photo of the Rialto Bridge with me but I didn't know it was one big outdoor mall behind it along with all the cafes! In Florence there's the Ponte Vecchio Bridge with shops famous for their leather goods. I remember in Paris walking around all the shops like Dior, Chanel and Yves St. Laurent etc. a gorgeous city and was super clean when I was there. I told my daughter to not go in the canals as they are very polluted and have been for decades. The late great actress Katharine Hepburn made a movie in Venice in 1957 "Summertime" and part of her role required her to fall into a canal and she got a bad eye infection that lasted the rest of her life...she lived to be 96! So let that be a warning to all who want to visit Venice! Thanks for sharing~ a truly Italian Renaissance city, noticed the shops selling ornate creative masks, famous for their masked costume balls and the same masked cape outfit that was worn in the movie, "Amadeus" about Mozart.
I lived in Venezia in 2001 for most of the year - your video takes me back to my beloved city, in a very visceral way. Touches my soul on this Christmas Eve. Buon Natale

This is awesome. Do you mind sharing which settings you used on the GoPro 7? When I try recording during nighttime, the footage gets VERY disjointed for some reason, even with stabilization off!
Hi Linda, so I turn the auto stabilization off and use my EVO Gimbal instead, especially at night since the Gopro 7 stabilization doesn't work too well in low light. I shot this at 24 fps with protune on. Are you shooting at 24 fps? I think my ISO was set to 800, auto white balance and auto shutter. The color was set to flat. In post, I just use the Curves feature in Premiere Pro to make the blacks more black...mainly until the grain disappears. I then increase the vibrancy and saturation a bit. The city was pretty well lit up that night too in Venice so that helped.
@@ProWalks Thank you so much for sharing those details I got the 7 thinking in part I could walk around it without having to hold a heavy stabilizer; guess I'll have to pull it back out for night shoots. :) I'll try setting it to 24 fps and look at how to do similar post-editing in Final Cut Pro. Thanks!
Yoiu have the best walking videos on RUclips. Thanks for sharing them. Is it possible you can tell me the camera you use to make them. I would like to try to make a video like this here where i live in New York. Thanks. Keep up the great work!
Hey, thanks! I'm using a Gopro Hero 7. I shoot with the Protune setting on in flat color, low sharpening, auto white balance and auto shutter. Sometimes I used Native White balance but auto usually works fine. In post processing I increase vibrancy, saturation, and use the Curves feature in Premiere to create an S-curve making the blacks more black. I also just bought an Osmo Pocket but it hasn't arrived yet. Good luck with the walks!
That’s very cool😍 such a beautiful city... so nice to see all the walking space and nary a car in sight! My only question is, how do handicapped or elderly people get along?

I love your videos, but I don't have access to high speed at home so I download as mp4 so I can use while on my treadmill at home. Why can't I down load some of them? It says no access.
Hi again, loved your latest effort. Made me want to be in Venice. Just like all your walking videos it was excellent. I made a $US50 donation a few minutes ago and hope fully this will help encourage you to keep making these wonderful videos. Merry Christmas to yourself and your family, Rod
Hey Rod, Thanks so much! Yes, that helps for sure! Just bought a train ticket to head up to Florence this weekend. I'm hoping to do a short walk of the Christmas markets and then another Christmas lights walk in the evening. I think I'm going to wait until the Spring though before I do a full Florence walk. I am really hoping I can grow the channel. This region has endless places to walk and I hope I can continue sharing them with everyone for a long while! Thanks again for your donation. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
My God! I live in a Central Mexico colonial city. Every church is lit at night with very spectacular lights. In fact, they remain lit all night long. And now you tell me San Marco in Venice isn't lit with huge spotlights and the like?
yeah that is weird, normally St Mark's Square is beautifully lit up at night. The basilica itself, not so much (but I think there's some laws about it given that its 1000 years old)
Hey Brett, I'm using a Gopro 7 with Protune on, 24fps, native white balance, low sharpening, and I think this was at shot at a max of 800 ISO, maybe 1600..I don't remember, and in flat color. I'm pretty sure I set the shutter to 1/48 but it might have been on auto. Sorry for not giving a super clear answer. In post, I increase the vibrancy and saturation a bit and then use curves to make the blacks more black....usually just enough so a bit of the grain goes away. I hope this helps.

Dying to go here 😩😩
I love your videos, but I don't have access to high speed at home so I download as mp4 so I can use while on my treadmill at home. Why can't I down load some of them? It says no access.
we are headed there in a few months. so the flooding has receded?
Yes, there is currently no flooding and everything was open.
Was there two days ago. No flooding at all 😀
Venecia es maravillosa! A pesar de los turistas
Well....I suppose that's what I'm telling you. :) Maybe I was there on an off night.
yeah that is weird, normally St Mark's Square is beautifully lit up at night. The basilica itself, not so much (but I think there's some laws about it given that its 1000 years old)
Welcome go Tethys the Glass Sponge Reef!
20:05 Disney store.
How do you get your gopro to perform so well in low light?
Hey Brett, I'm using a Gopro 7 with Protune on, 24fps, native white balance, low sharpening, and I think this was at shot at a max of 800 ISO, maybe 1600..I don't remember, and in flat color. I'm pretty sure I set the shutter to 1/48 but it might have been on auto. Sorry for not giving a super clear answer. In post, I increase the vibrancy and saturation a bit and then use curves to make the blacks more black....usually just enough so a bit of the grain goes away. I hope this helps.
