- With World of Warcraft Classic just around the corner, we thought it appropriate to do a tribute to one of our favorite videogame soundtracks of all time!
Here, the theme is played by the amazing En:1 Duo from Århus, Denmark. I met them at a folk music convention in Gothenburg, and instantly thought that they would be a great fit for the show.
I asked them if they could play this tune for a video, and then they made this fantastic arrangement!

No, there will never be another video game, or digital experience, that feels the way playing WoW in 2008-2009 did. And that is OK.

meh. I guess i'm better at enjoying video games than everyone else. because I love all the expansions since starting in 2004.
I believe it was the best because after WotLK Activision was in full charge.

So lovely! I just did an interview with the nyckelharpa fiddler Cajsa Ekstav who plays on the original recording. She told me a few people started playing nyckelharpa because of World of Warcraft. Maybe you’re one of them? 😃 The interview is on my channel if you want to see it.
Actually not! :) Carina started playing Nyckelharpa after having played violin for many years. She played Swedish trad. music for a long time and was fascinated by the harpa and eventually got her first harpa as a birthday present.

I wish I played in wrath. I was about 4 years old at the time and my only memory of wrath is seeing my father running around Dalaran on his lvl 80 Shadow Priest. I wholeheartedly wish I could've been able to play WoW back then.
This and Glory of the Sin'Dorei are probably my favorite songs from this game. Very well done

For the people here reminiscing about WoW - If you are willing to return to the game, but don't know if you should, you should. The new Azure Span region in the Dragon Isles is pretty much Grizzly Hills 2.0, and just as aesthetically wonderful. It may not have the same sheen of nostalgia you crave... But it's still pretty damn close.

As an avid World of Warcraft gamer, I am very happy they did this piece justice! It's one of my favorite scores in the game.
Is it just me or is that subtle noise that I always took to be distant tree-cutting actually the button pressing on the nyckelharpa? Either way this is unbelievable.

Yes, they can be! You can get a cheap beginner one for a decent price but it will not sound as good and be a harder to play and keep in tune.
