The guy who asked Zoro to join was Mr. 7. He doesn't appear in the anime but in a Q&A section Oda explained it and drew a little sketch. That sketch is what the live action used to bring Mr. 7 to life in the first episode. Well and death lol
They paid more attention to a random Oda sketch than the actual main characters in the series like Usopp or Garp whom they did completely dirty. Screw the live action. Oda, being the typical Japanese person, is just to polite and cautious to voice his real opinion tell them he doesn't completely agree with the material being sent or with his story/characters being altered left and right. Oda has to run with everything they come up with out of their ass pretenting it's based on his manga so he feels like he has no choice but to keep the polite submissive mask up and play along under the pressure of these pushy westerners which he may feel intimidated to say anything against. Japanese never tell their real opinions or criticize anything even among themselves, let alone say anything to a big scary pushy foreigner. It's a culture where people never say "no" straight and would instead use like 20 ways to evade rejecting someone. Oda wouldn't be able to do anything about the production even if he completely hated it. Add the sheer amount of pressure of his fanbase expectations for a live action being filmed to that and you get an utterly trapped man who can't reject it. Early in the production of s1 he already said in an interview that there was constant miscommunication going on, so I feel like he simply gave up trying to convey his vision and gave them carte blanche because a cheesy hollywood style adaptation is still better than nothing I guess.
The female partners of Baroque Works are named after holidays. Golden Week is a major holiday in Japan. Since it's not celebrated elsewhere in the world, it makes sense you haven't heard of it.
@@Shigeru0508 Mainly those who watch/read on a weekly basis. For reactors that are binging content like this, they wouldn't really be aware of any breaks at all.
