There was a hush quiet and then the caller said well you sing our lips our sealed. It was so funny and has stuck in my head ever since. Golden times.
One of the finest rock and roll bands in my opinion. One of the few really. Jane Weidlin would be my first choice for rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist if I was able to build a 'cool' supergroup to write, record and play with.

Possibly since they are playing in a different key... the usual for older bands... particularly vocals suffer eventually... happens to even the best after so many tours and shows. Pat Benatar has lowered many of her songs live. She can still sing very well, but the high notes get harder to do.
If you're comparing this with the single, I believe both are actually played in the same key (G), and standard tuning. The single was "sped up" and is somewhere near G#/Ab +- a few cents. I cannot find ONE live video of them on RUclips from the 80s to present day where they aren't playing it in G. Try playing it in G, it is tons easier, and matches Kathy's fingerings here and in all the other live videos.

Technically not a cover even though it was released after the go-go's version. As Terry Hall co-wrote the song when he and Jane Wiedlin were "romantically involved" both versions can be classified as an original interpretation of the same song. NOT a cover.

I've been a musician (guitar/drums) for over 30 years and I actually never knew who the bass player from the GoGos was. I remember Jane on "The Real World" talking about how she played lead guitar in one of the most influential punk bands ever. Seriously? The GoGos? I still laugh about that. Oops, it was on "The Surreal Life"
