  • What you are viewing in this video is a compilation of WMATA Metrorail legacy trains arriving/departing Glenmont station on the Red Line. This also includes a set of Alstom 6000 series cars, which have recently returned to revenue service, but rather each week, after being out of service since late 2020 due to coupler issues. The rest of the clips show Breda/Alstom 3000 series trains coming in and out of Glenmont.
As with the ongoing pandemic, it is also quite rare to see two older trains on opposite sides of the platform due to the Kawasaki 7000-series railcars making up the majority of revenue vehicles due to their improved ventilation systems (well they are sidelined for now).
In the future, the 2000 and 3000 series railcars will be replaced by the newer 8000-series vehicles, which will be built by Hitachi Rail, while options, if exercised, would eventually replace the 6000-series also, hence eliminating the entire legacy fleet from Metro.
Also pardon the video quality not being HD full screen since I haven't posted to RUclips in a while and didn't realize my camera wasn't set to that, but future videos will be full screen resolution. Also, with the fact that RUclips editor was abolished back in 2017, the videos grouped together may not be perfectly edited, and I used a different editing tool called Kapwing.
    Thanks for watching!

    Hello.
I don't know anything about the railroad situation in Washington, D.C., but I wonder if there are usually few customers at this station.
    I was a little surprised.
I understand that this picture was taken at a time when there were few customers.

Well during rush hour, it can be slightly crowded since the Red line is by far the busiest line on the system
