They seem to be the easiest to get a good picture.
@@SonyEnthusiast yep. Got it in like 2018 for $170 at Walmart. 4k 60hz and would support down to 240p. Was a big change from my 720p 32 inch. I never really noticed how bad it was until recently. Was playing hitman and the trails on bright backgrounds were unbearable. X85K isn't the best of the best, but it supports everything I need for my series x. Colors absolutely pop out of the screen. Makes me giggle using a Sony tv with an Xbox.
I wish TV makers would make HDMI ports on the right hand side of the tv as well. Most PC cases has the internals showing on the left hand side of the case so you would have to put your tower on the right hand side of the desk. It's just another hassle buying a longer HDMI cable and cable managing it.
Whoa I thought that the Bravia S-Center proprietary jack was the only option for center speaker on these TVs, I literally gasped when I saw the classic speaker wire connections on the A95L. I guess that's only on the really high end Bravias?
So why did they make the eARC port one of the only 4k 120Hz ports? If you've got a PS5 and Xbox Series X, how do you plug both of them in and also use a soundbar/receiver?
You simply can't, unless you use a splitter or some other kind of work around. But you can't do it naturally. Others have commented here that the reason Sony's tvs don't have all 4 ports being HDMI 2.1 is because they (and a few other manufacturers) use the SoC/main chip from MediaTek who is the one who keeps making new chips with the 2 HDMI 2.1 port limit. However, Samsung and LG both make their own chips, so they have control/choice to make it so theirs have all 4 ports being HDMI 2.1.
Sony has some amazing OLED panels and I'm always jealous because of it and because it's expensive , like LG does. I have a 2022 LG OLED model and its not perfect but it's the best thing bought when it was on sell.
LEDs are still goin according to Sony apparently. IPS and VA are good to me, however TNs no matter what, will suck bad. I have a Satellite L305-s5955 laptop with a browny lookin 1280x800 screen that oddly enough makes analog old films like Nausicaa (Bluray to WMVHD conversion) look amazing and nostalgic to look at??? Yeah, apparently terribly old LCDs had benefits in similar ways CRTs have.
Would like to see a option for a "one connect box" like on the samsung tv's just because I like a connections on the right side of the tv because of my setup so I wouldn't have to change everything around. I think it should be a standard
This never gets as much attention, but I kinda wish you went over their X80L. This year, the X80K had incredible picture for an LED tv and I'd argue, was par with the TCL MiniLED for value
even looking at these through my monitor, its easy to tell that the image id incredible considering its going through a camera lens and being replayed on my cheap monitor and it STILL looks uncannily vibrant and realistic to the point it almost doesnt look like its in the room
2:34 Coax is definitely useful in the Netherlands. We recently moved, and used that cable to watch some of the basic TV channels available that way, before our internet and TV subscriptions started (some channels don't required an active subscription).
Most important question for me, does this TVs have Gigabit-LAN? I need to use a f*ing USB-Adapter for my high priced LG TV because they go cheap and save some cents to use a 100Mbit LAN instead of 1Gbit.
Normally love the content, but a fair few mistakes with this one which isn’t ideal - a said increase of 200% when actually in an increase of 100% for number of nits, and the 93/83 issues… Also, 2 hdmi 2.1 ports being more than enough - I know a fair few people with a soundbar and 2 current gen consoles and only 2.1 hdmi ports is massively limiting. You guys churn out so much but the QC was a bit off with the script this time
Do you really expect fair and balanced content when it's a marketing piece paid by Sony? This is why LTT is no longer the go to place for actual information, it's just for entertainment now.
Yeah...to be fair I wonder why it's always with Sony, Samsung and a certain two or three companies that they suck up so much. They speak about doing high quality videos, maybe production value is up but content value is dropping down quite a lot.
Yep. I use my C1 as a monitor and my main TV, and have been considering switching to QD-OLED. The S95B is prone to failure, but Sony has avoided the issues while using the same panel. But going with Sony, I would either have to not run a soundbar, or not have my pc and ps5 connected at the same time. That's not a compromise I'm willing to make on a $4,000+ tv
Bandwidth. HDMI 2.1 allows for uncompressed high bitrate audio. Important for technologies like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. As a side note, lots of soundbars will have HDMI inputs that you can hook things into, so you're not losing a port. Mine has 4, so it also acts like a HDMI hub, all passing through to a singular 2.1 port on the TV. Cuts down on cable clutter, as only one cable is going to the TV, while the rest hide behind the soundbar.
Blooming, to me, is like getting a peak behind the curtain for tv’s, which always tarnishes the viewing experience for me. You’re seeing something the the wizards don’t want you to see, but it’s unavoidable with LED’s. It may not be as bright, but OLED all the way for me. I never knew what watching tv was until I saw perfect contrast.
I'd really like to see Sony making something similar to Samsung's Frame tv it looks great and with qdoled and Sony's processing it'd look awesome 🔥 Also I hope this qdoled tech gets more easier to produce and better so it can get cheaper, I want to buy one too!
Because some rich people, like linus, uses expansive sound amplifiers that are also a hub. But only the ones that are costs above 1000 dollars has at least 2 HDMI 2.1. The ideal in this case would be 2 eARC ports.
I just bought a 55" X90k a couple months ago. I love it, its perfect for me. OLED is cool and it looks amazing but it's way more expensive, it's still not the best for any room that gets sunlight, and I can't get past the burn in risk.
I've got an LG CX 55" OLED and it kicks ass. Had it for like 3 years now, I use it as my gaming PC monitor + TV and still haven't had any image retention whatsoever. Plus it was only like $1299 which wasn't bad at all especially at the time. The new C2 series is even better looking, brighter, and has the same pricing scheme. Now that I've experienced OLED, I can't go back. The perfect contrast/blacks is such a game changer for enjoying content

I really hope they are finally giving the 90L the dimming zones it needs to compete with the likes of Samsung and LG, let alone the likes of TCL and Hisense.
if this video is representative of the products Sony probably should have never put them for sale. the demo of video on the first one was lagging bad. the audio on the others sound sounded so bad on my old samsung monitor speakers that I would have returned it as soon as I heard it(I know that my monitor normally handles that type of thing much better) I couldn't understand a single word. I was also disappointed by the lack of smaller options being shown.
it's great to see TVs that doesn't have LG's truly terrible WebOS (the 1st thing to do after buying any LG is to get an Apple TV or Roku box to bypass WebOS).
“Flagship” tv with only two HDMI 2.1 ports. This is exactly why four years ago I went to LG after buying Sony for more than 20 years, going back to CRT. What are you supposed to do when you have a Series X, PS5 and a 3080 Ti PC and only two HDMI 2.1 ports? Even four years ago I was looking further forward than the end of my nose and knew that within a couple of years that two 2.1 ports wouldn’t be enough so got an LG CX but Sony still haven’t figured it out.
This is a really nice video thankyou. Please advise...I know it might be a swear word here but for me its out of the QN95C (Samsung led) or Sony. I have a very ambient front room and watch mostly 1080p hd stuff and was very interested in what you were saying about upscaling as thats very important to me... Which tv is the absolute best out of all the models for pure upscaling? Thanks
Sonys mini led is the best tv I’ve ever had coming from an oled that gave me headaches from bad motion. Motion is best on mini led, with oled color, crazy bright hdr highlights, and zero blooming. Ps5 is a dream on this set and will buy mini led from here on out.
Is there a history to why the "best" HDMI ports aren't 1, or 1 and 2? My instinct would be that 1 should be HDMI 2.1 with eARC, 2 should be plain HDMI 2.1, and then 3&4 be 2.0b... But this never seems to be the way?
I wonder about that too and completely agree. It's such an odd choice. The only reason i can think of is it has to be some kind of physical layout of the internal components thing. Like flipping the I/O card the other way must cause some kind of space or layout issue internally or something.
If I had to assume, and I have zero knowledge as to why, maybe it's because people generally have their cable box or media player inputted first, then comes the speaker's onto HDMI 3. Then gaming system will be last. Idk

Antenna input is great for over the air HD TV. If you're in a place like Toronto, you can pickup HD TV Channels from the CN Tower and from buffalo with an antenna. Cheaper then cable TV.
I was hoping to see the A80L and get a brief comparison with the A95L
I was hoping for an a85l qd oled but no heating but alas no
I have been telling friends/family that it's either Sony or LG that are worth buying. Sony has always been the top dog and LG is the more "value" option if you get QNED or top end LED "Nano Cell"
But you miss out on all the QC / firmware issues.. I mean features of Samsung! 😂
@orbitalalpha Will they? Doesn't Sony use Android TV? I don't have any ads on my Android TV
Now I have heard bad things about Samsung's Tizen OS and ads/intrusive Samsung apps
@@damyr55LG Web OS and Samsung Tizen are behind Sony/Google TV
Just upgraded from a onn tv to a Bravia x85k. Feel like I stepped into the future. Few more years and I'll upgrade to a c2. Hard to find stuff in 43 inch
I have experience with a 90J and then the replacement the 90K. I think they were both great going from 1080p or a cheap 4k. Yeah you can see some blooming in all black screens with white text but in normal watching it is barely noticeable. Went with the Sony because of its ability to show low res content and its color. They seem to be the easiest to get a good picture.
@@daveonezero6258 I love my X90J. I got it in 50in. for bedroom use. What size did you get?
Onn, the Walmart TV?
@@SonyEnthusiast Onn. That’s the one ☝️lol
We have digital 4K TV coming in through the cable port, so having one is still relevant today
At first I heard “Anker” instead of “Anchor” in the sponsorship segment…
I wish TV makers would make HDMI ports on the right hand side of the tv as well. Most PC cases has the internals showing on the left hand side of the case so you would have to put your tower on the right hand side of the desk. It's just another hassle buying a longer HDMI cable and cable managing it.
I think the 5 people in the world who put a 65“ tv on their desk are fine with getting a longer cable😂
First world problems haha
Why would you need to see the internals on a PC?
@@imnotbreno because the RGB makes it faster
Whoa I thought that the Bravia S-Center proprietary jack was the only option for center speaker on these TVs, I literally gasped when I saw the classic speaker wire connections on the A95L. I guess that's only on the really high end Bravias?
Why would you put eArc on one of the only 2x VRR hdmi ports?!?
Any update on Sonys Sound-bar and Ht line up this year ?
Sony has some amazing OLED panels and I'm always jealous because of it and because it's expensive , like LG does. I have a 2022 LG OLED model and its not perfect but it's the best thing bought when it was on sell.
Sony buys their OLED panels from LG and QD-OLED panels from Samsung. They do not make their own.
@@shibaspeed Yes , we know. It has more to do with their kind of optimization as explained in the video
@@shibaspeed well, it's still a very high quality screen.
@@A.Froster yeah
LEDs are still goin according to Sony apparently. IPS and VA are good to me, however TNs no matter what, will suck bad. I have a Satellite L305-s5955 laptop with a browny lookin 1280x800 screen that oddly enough makes analog old films like Nausicaa (Bluray to WMVHD conversion) look amazing and nostalgic to look at??? Yeah, apparently terribly old LCDs had benefits in similar ways CRTs have.
Sony has always been the king of tvs
Would like to see a option for a "one connect box" like on the samsung tv's just because I like a connections on the right side of the tv because of my setup so I wouldn't have to change everything around.
I think it should be a standard
Maybe if they fix the blurry 4K120 on the X900H I'll consider getting a Sony in the future.
This never gets as much attention, but I kinda wish you went over their X80L. This year, the X80K had incredible picture for an LED tv and I'd argue, was par with the TCL MiniLED for value
Loving my X80K since October last year! No blooming!
85L with full array will be amazing 🤩
even looking at these through my monitor, its easy to tell that the image id incredible considering its going through a camera lens and being replayed on my cheap monitor and it STILL looks uncannily vibrant and realistic to the point it almost doesnt look like its in the room
Yeah looks incredible as the price!
2:34 Coax is definitely useful in the Netherlands. We recently moved, and used that cable to watch some of the basic TV channels available that way, before our internet and TV subscriptions started (some channels don't required an active subscription).
Plus if you want good quality sports broadcasts cable is still the only way to go.
plenty of hd free over the air channels in the usa as well
Most important question for me, does this TVs have Gigabit-LAN?
I need to use a f*ing USB-Adapter for my high priced LG TV because they go cheap and save some cents to use a 100Mbit LAN instead of 1Gbit.
Im just glad they got rid of the thick bottom bezel on the a95l that they had on the a95k. Thats what put me off buying it
Normally love the content, but a fair few mistakes with this one which isn’t ideal - a said increase of 200% when actually in an increase of 100% for number of nits, and the 93/83 issues… Also, 2 hdmi 2.1 ports being more than enough - I know a fair few people with a soundbar and 2 current gen consoles and only 2.1 hdmi ports is massively limiting.
Why do you need 2.1 for consoles?
@@ruukinen 4k 120 Hz, Dynamic HDR Metatdata, VRR, Auto Low Latency Mode to name a few
Hey, don't knock the coax input. There are a lot of us that use antennas because, free.
I don’t know where you got that X95L will only come in 85”. Sony clearly said they’ll come in 75” and 65” too.
I can't wait to own a 4K QD-OLED
Tech Tip required: why has always one of the hdmi2.1 ports to be also the earc-channel? 😅
@@vash_dakari Thank you Vash Tech Tips!🙂
Blooming, to me, is like getting a peak behind the curtain for tv’s, which always tarnishes the viewing experience for me. You’re seeing something the the wizards don’t want you to see, but it’s unavoidable with LED’s. It may not be as bright, but OLED all the way for me. I never knew what watching tv was until I saw perfect contrast.
Now they just need to make a movie to watch on it that is not crap.
This video isn't a sponsored video, it is Plouffe's holiday package.
4:10 - 4:20 make sure to refill the sponsor spot to correct this. How did the editors not pick it up?
I'd really like to see Sony making something similar to Samsung's Frame tv it looks great and with qdoled and Sony's processing it'd look awesome 🔥
Also I hope this qdoled tech gets more easier to produce and better so it can get cheaper, I want to buy one too!
Thats basically the LG Gallery Edition like the G2 or upcoming G3.
Why do you consider removing original film grain a positive? I:think it has its place and is part of the movie.
Ya'll need to make a video on how to fully utilize all those ports in the back
What options does the motion blur reduction have? Does it support 120hz bfi?
why they don't use ARC in HDMI 1 or 2? The moment you want to plug a sound bar through ARC, you lose one of the only two gaming connectors.
Because some rich people, like linus, uses expansive sound amplifiers that are also a hub. But only the ones that are costs above 1000 dollars has at least 2 HDMI 2.1. The ideal in this case would be 2 eARC ports.
Sony sells soundbars that have hdmi 2.1 pass through so it’s not as much of an issue if you buy a bundle from them.
(or 4 HDMI 2.1 as anyone else is doing it)
@@pedro4205lol. Plenty of middle class families own these things called "receivers." 😂
@@DrakonR yes, but not the ones with 120hz VRR support. those cost more than the TV
If im interested in getting the A95L for a Gaming Monitor / RUclips Screen basically treating this tv as a large Computer monitor. Will i have to worry about the images being Burned-in?
It's gonna be hard to beat my LG C2. The OS is the best.
Those stand feet look enormous. It looks it would have to sit too far out from the wall and require a deep tv stand
They are 18.3 inches long …at least on the xr98x90L, I had to custom build a TV stand 24’’ deep
0:12 even Sony themselves don't put the base thingy on their PS5

The amount of times Plouffe has said "Reality" makes me think the XR Reality chip inside the TVs are getting to him.
I can't wait for this to make it down to 27-inch gaming monitors and be way cheaper.
Great video so far! Have a great day! Stay Safe! Stay Hydrated!!
I really hope they are finally giving the 90L the dimming zones it needs to compete with the likes of Samsung and LG, let alone the likes of TCL and Hisense.
Remember when sony made the best TVs? the Trinitron was truly amazing
if this video is representative of the products Sony probably should have never put them for sale. the demo of video on the first one was lagging bad. the audio on the others sound sounded so bad on my old samsung monitor speakers that I would have returned it as soon as I heard it(I know that my monitor normally handles that type of thing much better) I couldn't understand a single word. I was also disappointed by the lack of smaller options being shown.
Somehow the video on A95L is lagging...?

Putting your electronics over a heat source is super smart! 🥴
it's great to see TVs that doesn't have LG's truly terrible WebOS (the 1st thing to do after buying any LG is to get an Apple TV or Roku box to bypass WebOS).
But does the built-in SmartTV features still gather my app use/viewing data and send it back to Sony?

“Flagship” tv with only two HDMI 2.1 ports. This is exactly why four years ago I went to LG after buying Sony for more than 20 years, going back to CRT.
What are you supposed to do when you have a Series X, PS5 and a 3080 Ti PC and only two HDMI 2.1 ports? Even four years ago I was looking further forward than the end of my nose and knew that within a couple of years that two 2.1 ports wouldn’t be enough so got an LG CX but Sony still haven’t figured it out.
Have any idea when sony plans on releasing the A95L and pricing
This is a really nice video thankyou. Please advise...I know it might be a swear word here but for me its out of the QN95C (Samsung led) or Sony.
I have a very ambient front room and watch mostly 1080p hd stuff and was very interested in what you were saying about upscaling as thats very important to me...
Which tv is the absolute best out of all the models for pure upscaling? Thanks
2:30 wait so in my area everybody has cable TV
What am I supposed to use if I want to watch TV channels if not cable?
Sonys mini led is the best tv I’ve ever had coming from an oled that gave me headaches from bad motion. Motion is best on mini led, with oled color, crazy bright hdr highlights, and zero blooming. Ps5 is a dream on this set and will buy mini led from here on out.
Is the full feature set of the game mode available to all consoles or just one in particular
if only they could make an 85" OLED
Idk
I guess that lan port is still stuck in stone age at 100mbit :x
