I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ruclips.net/user/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
Good job dad, way to be supportive and active in your kids life, this is something he’ll never forget and really appreciate later on..it’s funny how some things that seem so small or meaningless can have such a positive impact especially for the fact your kid has got some hands on him for sure he mite be able to go somewhere in the fighting sports. Amazing design and you have a lot of nice tools, one last thing..don’t pay any attention to that socket guy he’s an idiot, it’s a fkn socket for cryin out loud, and if ya damage it..I’m not really sure how but I probably have 20 in that size and I’ll replace it and send ya one lol..again impressive design great job
Awesome job. The chrome socket comment is probably from a mechanic or someone who has very expensive sockets like snap on. Chrome sockets are plenty good enough for everyday stuff. If you were doing heavy mechanic work you would want something a little tougher. Chrome is perfectly fine for everyday uses. Keep up the great work.
Crome sockets aren’t hardened for impact tools and can shatter However In the application you were using it in I don’t think there would be an issues. Great home gym Thinking about building one now
crome sokets are for genral use and black are greanrally used for lug nuts stuff like that really no reason for someone to point that out but it is what it is good job
They probably gave you crap about the sockets because the chrome ones aren't designed for use with impacts. I use the chrome ones if I don't have the right size hardened (matte black) ones. I just don't get too crazy when I torque them down.
This is awesome! What are the dimensions? And I couldn’t find the parts list on the description. Can you please share? Would love to make this for my son.
Sure! I used 4x4's by fours for the pillars and 4x6's for the top beams. You can make it whatever high in dimension you want, but I would try to Max out the height in the Room to give you Max leverage for whatever you want to use.
Cool video I’m trying to build something similar thanks for the reference. May I recommend the spar bar attached to the outside of the cage near the shelf’s, it can swing out (away from that window) toward the heavy bag.
Awesome video, totally going to copy your build!! Thanks! Also they were giving you shit with you using the chrome socket because they’re not impact rated..I use chrome ones on my 1/4” impact all the time lol
Someone got mad about the chrome socket because it isn't impact rated. Wether or not it matters if you are not using it for a high torque operation is a different thing.
Just found your channel. I've only seen two vids so far and I gotta say you seem like and awesome guy and a wonderful father. In a time where society is just pumping out beta male snowflakes with no practical skills it's great to see you building things with your hands and getting your son involved and teaching him practical skills. If was near you I'd love to buy a beer and your son a root beer 🍻 keep up the great work and you got yourself another subscriber.
How tall are your ceilings? how tall is your rack? And do you mind telling us how much you spent on this? I want something similar but I want my bags to be hanged super high
The price of would spike so it's going to be a little more but it really was not that expensive because it's just a bunch of studs and some hardware. I have it all the way up to my ceiling and I think my ceiling is around 8'
Your an excellent Father. You love your young son so much to do this for him
Thank you!
It cool how u put it in his room, so he can access it whenever he wants
Thanks! It's super convenient.
Your son got some HANDS!! Watch out😂
I know...

I praise your son! Good job teaching him that dedication early on!
Thanks!
If there ever was a pandemic shut down dad contest. You would definitely be a contender!

And this is only motivated by love omg. You’re a crazy good builder and father ! Hope your son is getting sharper in his amazing home gym ❤️💥

What a great father
That would have been my dream come true as a kid. You're a champion for making that happen!
Thanks!
super dad!! thanks for the video.. great idea even while gyms are opened.
My son uses it daily

Great home gym
Thinking about building one now
Got it
I know I just commented but dude I’m just blown away, incredible job man seriously
Dad of the Year !
This video is very awesome thanks a ton for the help ideas and advice
Happy to help!
You did a good job, excellent
That’s a dream bedroom for me
Get it done, bro!
You could add a speed bag to that wall
Amazing gym, your son is a absolute weapon
Thanks!
Impressive!!! Helluva job!!!
Thank you!
Damn impressive both conceptually and in its implementation!
Thanks!
You're a beast with the tools bro!
Awesome dad wish I was handy
crome sokets are for genral use and black are greanrally used for lug nuts stuff like that really no reason for someone to point that out but it is what it is good job
Great work
Thank you! Cheers!
FYI your a great dad!
Thanks!

Interesting
I like how u built it 😮😀

this is kool man good job

The m12 fuel 1/2 impact wrench is a must for big lag bolts
Yeah it's nice. I got one after this project.
Chrome socket could crack and hurt you is my only guess. They do sell high torque sockets for cheap at harbor freight. Worth the investment.
You deserve more views
Thank you.
Awesome video, totally going to copy your build!! Thanks!
Also they were giving you shit with you using the chrome socket because they’re not impact rated..I use chrome ones on my 1/4” impact all the time lol
I finally figured that out....month's later. Ooops!
Damn I wish my dad did something like that for me
Try asking him?
Where's my money? 😂💪💪 Great video keep up the good work Mike!
Thanks!
Thumbs up, but, why not create one outside so u can have more room for kicks? I would love to see a project lile that
Too hot
19:43 How to calculate weight to heaviness ratio?
Someone got mad about the chrome socket because it isn't impact rated. Wether or not it matters if you are not using it for a high torque operation is a different thing.

I appreciate that!
MMA AND BASS FISHING LIFE IS A GOOD LIFE
Yes, yes it is!!!
Is it a possibility for you to link the various products you bought like the boxing spinning bar?
Sure thing.
How much money did this cost to build? Great job!
Not much but this was pre-2020
How tall are your ceilings? how tall is your rack? And do you mind telling us how much you spent on this? I want something similar but I want my bags to be hanged super high

Nice effort. did you lose any weight. or just like other people who spend thousands enthusiastically then it rots of disuse.
Still going strong. Hard for wood to rot when it's inside
What kind of saw is that that you’re using the Milwaukee
Band saw
Because the chrome sockets are not Impact sockets, good thing it's not their money though huh?😏 nice build, don't you build tiny boats to?
Yeah
This might be kinda a stretch but if he practices mma is there something to train grappling
He had wrestling pads for a while but he goes to the gym for that
@@CrushedEMTB oh ok
Im not seeing the parts list
Did you attach the cage to the wall or on the floor at all?
No, there's no need. I built the cage specifically to avoid having to do that.
is it ok if i get all the plans and materials used??
It should all be there. I can update the description later on.
@@CrushedEMTB it doesn't show anything
How heavy is your aqua bag?
Around 100lb
What wood did you use
Just standard 2×4 and 4x4 studs from the hardware store
share size of everything
I know im late but how much did it cost for all the material
2-300
@@CrushedEMTB awesome thanks you mean $200-$300 correct
I can’t seem to see the parts list ???
It's 4x4s and 4x6" with lag bolts
Hi what’s the punch bar called pls
The Spar Bar. I have it linked down in the description,
@@CrushedEMTB ok thanks
@@CrushedEMTB sorry I can’t find it
use wood and glue and clmp and screew
I don't want to imagine the pain of doing a wheel kick at the heavy bag and your foot accidentally hitting one of those wooden beams
Yeah, it's mainly for basic strikes at the moment. If he ever wants to go into advanced kicks, we will just center the bag.
Foot condition 😅
What are the dimensions?
Not sure but you would want the biggest studs you could get away with
Chrome socket non impact
I wish u where my dad
the socket deal ig because its not impact rated. but ppl are annoying like that.
gaming is destroying kids. how to get them to do some physical work.
