At one point those combat troops didn’t see combat at the beginning of the war. By every war America has had the combat personnel from the previous war have left that’s why you have to train as you go you can’t rely on experience when you won’t have it if the next war is 50 years from now

As a recruiter I never gave out many sign on bonuses except for a small few. But majority of Marines at my unit (2/6) receive $45,000 for reenlisting. This is about recruiting not reenlistments.
