Engine ws-10 and irst will be Nd should be changed and addition of more composite material to reduce radar cross section is mandatory to escape from S-400 and aircraft radars, make it more stealthy .. and it will increase its manurability
B-3 is final block of Thunder project
@@pakistanstrategicforumi think b4 will have minor airframe design & composite changes to enhance stealth, engine upgrade, avionic upgrade; radar, rwr, mwr, mission computer etc. on 2028 top tech standard as b3 has about 2018 tech standards, and it will be in service by 2031

I happen to know somebody who was in the original team involved in the avionics of this jet he said thatJF-17 will have ongoing blocks like F-16.
How you can compare a MWT with an LCA, how one can totally forget the export success of F-16 & the overall aviation experience of the LM.

in block-4 you can increase composite materials, Apply stealth coatings and include more powerful engine.
also the nose cone can be redesigned to include a more powerful AESA.
There won't be any B-4, however RAM coatings can be applied to any block, using more composite materials will sky rocket the program cost, we must focus on the next generation.
IRST needs to be added.

Future blocks of JF-17 can't be totally ruled out. However, it will based on the substantial experience and utilization of Block-3 to its maximum potential and the development of new technologies. The need and specs of future blocks will be based on the data from past experiences, real combat experiences, capabilities of the enemy, and advancement of technologies. All those who are interested in new blocks of JF-17 must not look backward at all technologies available in present-day warfare must look forward to emerging technologies and their fusion with JF-17. Exports shouldn't be our priority but outperforming and outsmarting our enemies should be the key priority.
Without exports you can't fund the project, today whatever F-16 program success you have it, the exports played a very very significant part in it
@@pakistanstrategicforum Exports could be one way to fund the project but not the key priority of any project like JF-17. The F-16 and JF-17 projects can't be compared with each other. The doctrine and thought process behind both were totally different.
Keeping in view the US role in the West and NATO, any US weapon always had an export market but that clout and reach is not available to Pakistan or even China at the moment.
I still feel that exports could be a icing on the cake but can/should never be a major part of the cake. 80-90% of the total number of JF-17 builds will be used in PAF in the next 3-5 years.
India is aimlessly targeting exports of Tejas while not using it in its own Air Force fully. They lost track from day one and they spoiled the Tejas project from their own hands by offering it to the export market and destroying the reputation of their own product. Sometimes they pitch it as LCA, sometimes as LED in Fighter, etc.
The conclusion is just to use your product to its maximum potential in all domains of war, and that is the best return on its price. Learn from the experience for future improvements and better and more advanced machines as per future needs. Don't run aimlessly behind the terms 5th Gen or 6th Gen.

Block 4 might not be possible but block 3+ is possible. You guys need to get radar absorbent radar retradant paint. Moreover to reduce radar cross section and increase fuel efficiency and loiter time look into composite materials to upgrade portions of the external fueslage. It is a concept worth trying if it works it works if not learn from the mistake and make improvements in later projects.@@pakistanstrategicforum
Block 4 should be redesigned internally with Turkish Aesa radar and F-16 style side stick control etc so that F-16 operator countries (Turkiye and Iraq) feel comfortable for easy conversion to JF-17.

Jf-17 must be upgraded with a better Gun that is up to date as per the recent AoA warfare.
The use of gun is very very limited, specially after the addition of PL-10 HOBS WVRM
Can't we redesign it because I have seen many foreigners talking about its frame to be of a 3rd generation aircraft, we can make variants of JF-17 Thunder just like how Dassault is doing with their Rafales or what Boeing did with F-18 Hornets (they redesigned the whole F-18 Hornet jet and named it F-18 Super Hornet), we can do something like JF-17 Mighty Thunder? or similar, we must make more and reliable variants of Jeff

which will increase the climb rate,it will be a punch area for B4.

Btw last year I heard some news that Pakistan and china have agreement upto block 3.. So if we saw block 4 means it's totally Pakistan based.

excellent points made. Most people just like to opinionize their wishful thinking instead of making logic objective resolutions. Jf-17 was supposed to be a light weight fighter that was slated to replace many old aircraft and become the backbone of the PAF while being equipped with the most possible capability for its design. The only shortcoming and possible major upgrade i see in the jeff is an engine change, we saw the Chinese testing that themselves, and with how old our current options are, we will likely be inclined towards that upgrade. Besides that all we should really look forward to are mid-life upgrades or minor avionic upgrades as u mentioned. If PAF needs the capabilities these armchair analysists want the jeff to have, that would require a separate program destined for a different medium weight fighter. And that, to a extent, we are already doing with our 5th gen options.

People think upgrading and modifying a jet or making it a stealthy can be done with Emotions and Jazba alone. There will be no B-4, however engine will be replaced in later stages, it will be WS-13, no chance of any US or Western engine with Thunder
Fine.But Indian HAL Tejas is also a light attack fighter with a smaller airframe than JF-17 but they are going to make it a medium category aircraft in Tejas mk2 variant.They are also going to install canards in the MK2 variant.If airframe limitations occurs then how it is possible.What will you say about this?
All on papers tejas in last 42 years have proved nothing they still need to use it fully operational then world will see its capability thats why Indian navy rejected it they are forcefully inducting it in air force and about MK2 and Amcaa india need atleast 10-15 years to build them untill that Pakistan will have 100 Kaan fifth gen jets 100 J-10C or even D electronic warfare system and untill that Pakistan will have 200+ Jf17s all block 3 or 4 also be their. Pakistan is far ahead interms of modernization
Last 40 years india was far behind Pakistan Interms of technology as we had AMRAAM 105KM range missile india had 80Km range BVR missile. Now India have 150km range meteor and Pakistan have PL-15 145km range now on same page but still 1 huge issue india have is RCS 272 SU-30MKI are flying ducks with 15 meter square RCS JF-17 RCS is 1-3 Meter square Block 3 have 1.5 RCS means its very easy to detect SU-30 MKI and india can not retire them till 2060s than same with Mig-29 and Mirage 2000

You can make a bomber, a civil jet liner, a spacecraft, UFO from HAL LCA Tejas since all you need to do is waste 4+ decades in advertisement, making useless CGI, & most of all start writing imaginary articles on its capabilities, so Tejas is an exceptional case.

F-16 is not an LCA, it's a medium weight fighter jet
Thunder is LCA, hence airframe limitations.

F-5 was a dual engine plane whereas its variant prototype F-20 (F-5G) was a single engine. F-5 has several similarities with JF-17. So we can guess where are those single engine and dual engine comments coming from. Another idea on paper is TEDBF, a variant of Tejas.
Tedbf isn't a variant of tejas, it's a Indian concept version of rafale M for it's navy

We were buying Russian Engines RD-93. But they were smoky and the russians were delaying assistance. So we went for the chinese WS-13 Engines.

forget about those clueless funny channels In Punjabi/ Urdu accent who talk about ridiculous upgrades to JF-17 but lets not completely rule out the possibility of future blocks of this jet.
its variants from block 1 to 3 can be seen within almost a decade span. as the miniaturization continues we might see more compact and more powerful avionics package, better performing engine. maybe more use of durable lighter but affordable materials replacing the legacy metals with fiber glass. so in future versions of its existing components would qualify itself to be called a next block JF-17.
that JF-17 in next 10 15 years (even if called block 3) for namesake will be much different to current block while remaining true to its spirit and doctrine of a single, light weight force multiplier and a workhorse of PAF and potentially other countries.

#PSF o bewakuf! work on Blk 4 has been started since 2018 atleast. Blk-4 will be a major update just as blk 3. Blk 3 still lack, stealth. IRST, and Towed Decoys etc. Blk-4 will be semi stealth version.
BTW there will be a Blk -5 too. This was all decided in Sohail Aman's era!

plus the huge difference in R&D budget of F-16 and JF-17,, the R&D budget of F-16 is about 100 times more than that of the JF-17.
