When I first started using mine I was always told to set the compound at 29.5 and all the treads were at a weird slope, one side would look really nice but the other would be really long and leaning.
Stumbled on your video, You remind me of me at one point in life. Aside: go make a tool height gauge for tool setting. Joe Pie channel called " Setting lathe tools on center " It was on my to do list for long time, finally did it yesterday. Easy to make and sure makes height settings so much easier. Think I will add a counterbored Magnet on bottom, figure to use as is for a bit 1st. Joe Pie also did a video long ago about threading from the chuck towards the tail stock. Took me a while to convert. Sure is much easier and no crash potential. Not to be picky, but already started comment, try a thread relief on the end.
