- Gigantic 30x60 beautiful Angel Wing pour technique in only 4 Colors: Golden's Quinacridone Crimson, Iridescent Gold, Bronze & Black
Hello Friends!
A couple of weeks ago my friend Sarah Mack posted a video of an incredible Wing pour by Kristin Oladatter Steen, her first one ever.. it was so beautiful and really inspired me to try a wing pour. My first try came out pretty good, and of course I wanted to do one on a huge canvas.. this is that video!
I used a gigantic canvas, a huge 30 x 60 gallery wrapped level three canvas from Masterpiece, its amazing, it has 2.5 inch thick sides!! The rectangular shape was begging for something that would be stretched and I thought it would be perfect for this pour!

Golden's
~Quinacridone Crimson
~Iridescent Gold Bright
~Iridescent Bronze
Artist's Loft
~Flow Acrylic Black
My pouring medium is:
Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish
Water as needed
Floetrol
This pour was so much fun! Watching the 'wings' spread out was so beautiful to me, I hope you enjoy it too.
I have not Varnished this piece yet, when I do I will probably use a UV protection Archival Spray Gloss Varnish.

Good for you... The paint gives what the paint gives... and we are blessed to be able to create...We can do some tweaking...but sometimes what we end up with is even better.

I was thinking that it looks like a native Indian angel maybe because of the reds and black and I don't usually like pours with squiggly lines but this has something that draws you in, I find it quite beautiful
To me, the squiggly lines are fabulous. I love when my art comes ‘Alive’ (angels sing in my head).
Once you have created one you might appreciate them more, just a thought. :)

OMG Mina...this is so very very beautiful! I didn't notice the name at first and as I was watching my first thought was it should be oriented exactly as you have and that it looked like a lovely silhouette of a women wrapped in a golden halo of light. This piece brought a tear to my eye....but in a good way! I lost my beautiful vibrant 94 year old mum 2 months ago...she died in my arms. My mother has called me Mina all my life and this piece reminds me of her. Thanks. And thanks for trying the quin. Crimson, your pairing with the bronze, gold and black is stunning.

How pretty! I love these colors so much!!! While I did see the hair thing.....it looked a lot like a black sword with fire coming off it at the beginning....Oh! And I loved that little comment about the air strike! I live near an Air Force base, so we get that constantly....if there ever was an actual attack, we’d never know until we died...

Wow, I don't know how you can hang on to that big of a canvas. I kept thinking it was going to slip off the table because that what would have happened if I was trying to tilt something that big. You, on the other hand, had total control, and it turned out fantastic! It does look like some mystical figure, with angel hair, materializing from unknown places! LOL Wonderful!
