Tip: No one at this point is good at the editor yet. The standards I terms of polished-ness are really low. You can have simple and quick levels - just make sure the gameplay is kinda fun and it uses new features in an interesting way. Then they will be received well.
Just to let you know, if you set the UR and UL vertices to the same group, you can make triangles, which allows you to make every polygon. That could be revolutionary.
@IonRuby if you are talking about squares, then it can be made by two triangles. If you are talking about the 3d cube, then it can be made by a lot of triangles.
Thank you so much!! I’ve tried messing around with the trigger a bit on my own and couldn’t figure it out too well, so this is super helpful!! Thanks Viz!!
Yo thats so cool, i could make an invert thing with gradient and vertex mode follow you now :o Seriously thanks alot, it helped me like WAY too much, and the fact that this is just 8 mins is awesome, because other videos are like 15 or 21 mins, but this is just so cool, and epic, new sub btw!!
BRO I LEARNED SO MUCH FROM THIS! Gradient trigger tutorial was simple to understand, but i finally learned how to use the follow trigger, too! (REALLY hoped youd get more in detail with the parralax tho) Gonna make some insane stuff with this...
I’m so confused with the 3d part. He didn’t show the follow trigger. I make the big square turn but not the little one, even though I did everything right that was shown in the vid.
The moment I touched it, I knew the gradient trigger was a game changer. After 2.2 released I messed around with all of the triggers in a level and the gradient trigger stuck out to me instantly and I took to messing around with it instantly, I knew it was only a matter of time until something like this happened. This is absolutely crazy
I didn't realize the Gradient trigger had that much potential initially and thought it was overhyped, but this really showed me the power that it holds. I wouldn't compare it to the greatness of the particle trigger or even the scale trigger, but it sure is fascinating what you can do with it.
This has singlehandedly become my favorite tutorial on any gd video. You explained this feature so well, I might just remember how to use it within a week of watching this! I wish there were more teachers like you!
Yes!!!!!!! NOt just explaning how it works but also having fun with it, seeing how you love it, just like a little kid with a new toy... Love this video!!!!!
Dude please make more of these I love messing around in the gd editor but I don’t know how to use like half of the triggers and this was really entertaining 😂
here's a cool tidbit: as long as you are able to link the groups properly, you can condense this entirely into 13 groups. you can even make literal meshes with groups
So I found a way to make a entire level with just the gradient trigger, advanced trigger, move triggers, and hitboxes it’s gonna take so long but it’s possible with just the four blocks so I can make a level with probably less than 5k objects that also looks really cool.
Hi there! You may look up rotate trigger tutorial on RUclips Here is a basic You set a center object as an id (the center object is the one where you want everything revolving around it) Then get your outer objects and set it as a new id (these objects will rotate around your center point aka id 1) Then place down rotate trigger, add center id as 1 and other id as 2. Then make (x360 = 10-whatever you want) Then make move time anything above 30-400
i've tried something like this in the editor, and for some reason only two of the sides work at once. it shows two sides, and then if i deleted one of the sides that was showing, another side then appears so that there is still two. i cant seem to make a shape like this. does anyone know whats wrong
WHAT , omg this makes me wanna mess with triggers too , I didn't actually knew gradient triggers can do that! , that for showing this , real eye opener 😭
He didn't because it's kinda easy. Just set center group id to group id of object in the center, and set group id for objects that will rotate. Set the move time and how many times it's rotating 360⁰ and done.
2.2 is genuinely overwhelming. i want to make so many different things at once
Thats too relatable 😭
and you pretty much cant make any of them without help but no one else figured it out 😭@@Audieo

yeah sputnix allready made a 3d rendrer in gd not even lying
Does setting two vertices to the same group make transparency issues?
