Once the recording for Sgt. Pepper was over, the Beatles settled into a routine of low-key, continuous recording instead of squeezing as much into a three-month album schedule as they had while on tour. This fit their more carefree lifestyle, but it also had an inherent lack of tension that would taint the final product. They didn't have to pay studio fees; all they had to do was find some spare time in the Abbey Road schedules and show up, regardless of what they had to record. As a result, they now spent a large portion of their time at Studio 2 not recording or even rehearsing but writing songs. Meanwhile, the group's dr@g use had started to affect their judgment and decrease their level of self-criticism.
They worked on the track from April until May 1967. Biographer Hunter Davies writes: 🗣️ "When The Beatles arrived at the EMI studios, all they had was the title and a few bars of music. Paul played the opening bars of ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ on the piano, showing the others how it would go. He gestured a lot with his hands and shouted, ‘Flash, Flash,’ saying it would be like a commercial."
Although Paul is in charge of this track, the admirable team effort is evident because John's vocals are very prominent in the harmonies. Ringo's drums, with their smashing cymbals and all, play a huge part in keeping the song alive.. And the percussionists and trumpet players deserve their share of appreciation.

Great episode. Adore MMT
Just want to say how much I appreciate you ditching the AI voiceover. 100% improvement 👍
Thanks!
The MMT album definitely represents the wackiest of the film while being psychedelic and experimental
And riven with occult imagery
Great historic information, I didn't know Mal was so involved ' ...brilliant video thank you '
Glad you enjoyed it
Who knew it would be used for the Minecraft Movie 😭
Can you do a video on the Beatles friendly rivalry with the Beach Boys?
Sure!
"When a man clicks on a beatles Bible video, he knows what to expect, we guarantee the video of a lifetime and that is just what he gets. "

Well made! I didn't know a lot of this yet, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
One piece of historical information that I often refer back to in my head is from when I became a Chicago fan in 1998. I read their history, and I learned that when Peter Cetera first saw the immediate precursor to Chicago, the Big Thing, it was December 1967 when they were opening for his group, the Exceptions. The American version of the *Magical Mystery Tour* album had just come out, and these guys had already put the title cut in their repertoire by the time they first met Peter. That might have been one of the catalysts for Peter deciding to become their bass player, a role that hadn't yet been filled.
My favorite album of theirs.
You’ve gotta bless Paul for being the driving force behind the band from 1967 onwards. Kudos.
Was Billy from that point forwards
YESSSSS!
Paul was the heart and soul of the Beatles ❤
Whatever or whenever you talk about The Beatles remember the essential and fundamental is the music...the songs.

the Beatles were very good at stealing songs.
What?????????
@@alinedehors8438 Yes they stole and ripped off most all of their songs, from old 40s and 50s rock songs
@@SagaLartonthey never stole anything you big baby. You are obviously butthurt because they’re beloved by the entire world. Or you’re a troll. Either way the Beatles are the best selling and most loved artist of all time so suck it. :)
@@SagaLarton Yeaaaah no, that's Elvis Presley
@@crunchtaco5542 Yes Elvis of course, but also Lennon and McCartney from the beatles.
