She makes this fearsomely difficult piece sound almost easy - the mark of a true artist and a tribute to the years of hard work such musical stars have to put in.
I watch this performance several times per week. I really like your interpretation and of course this is my absolute favorite Chopin piece…and has been for over 30 years.
Te lo agradezco de verdad :) Nota: Saludos desde Perú I don't really know if you would read this comment, however you would like you to read it. Personally, I will not live on music, as I will be an Industrial Engineer. However, I plan to take classes in order to be able to play like you, because how you play the piano, the charisma that characterizes you when doing it, and your great and undoubted talent, have inspired me to want to play like you, whatever the cost. Thank you for inspiring me to do so. I really appreciate it :) Note: Greetings from Peru
Such an exquisite performance! And your videos are perfection - no fancy faux-artistic angles - just simply watching you play and focussing on how your hands interact with the keys. A pleasure to watch and listen to. Thank you for making your performances available on youtube.
Yes, my favorit Ballade. I am also working on this piece for over a year now. To me it is a journey, starting from home, visiting places and facing situations of life. It is quite difficult for players to find the subtle breath permiating throughout this piece until the coda brings all to a finale. Thank you.
"I know nothing in music like the F minor Ballade" said James Huneker. Nor do I. From tingling my body at 17 I'm still here at 71 feeling much the same as I did back then. The pinnacle of Chopin's works. And that is saying something.
Flawless. You're really amazing, I've been following you since 2015, I can't believe we are the same age and you're already this successful. Greetings from Peru ❤️
Absolutely sublime! What an achievement mastering this piece is. You deserve millions of views. I understand why pieces like this aren’t popular since they are so distant from modern music but damn is everyone missing out.
Ah, Youth! We have here a perfect rubato. This is fine pianism. I only wish that the sequence from roughly 7 minutes in to 9:40 or so had a greater, almost explosive, climax; not necessarily louder or faster, but more pronounced, as here is what the piece appears to aim for. The remainder of the piece thereby becomes the thoughtful resolution of all that had come before, giving us the full dramatic impact of this Masterpiece. Maybe I have heard too much Arthur Rubinstein, as earlier I had imagined him reacting to this in a Master Class setting and felt he would have been speechless she performed this so well. Up until that above mentioned sequence. But Mr Rubinstein spent a lifetime to come to an understanding of this piece. Given Ms Schwamova's youth, I can't imagine she will not one day play this with the overwhelming power it deserves. Again, a really fine, almost riveting performance.
One of the most beautiful perfomances I hav ever heard ❤❤❤ I love you, you are an amazing person and I look up to you, your achievements snd your unique playing style
That rubato approach reminds me of Horowitz's style. The piano is well-tuned and voiced. This lassie is about to take her rightful place amongst the stars - a born and phenomenally gifted musician.
How did it happen that Natalie does not compete in Warsaw this year? I remember her from the previous edition of the contest in 2015. She was then the youngest competitor. I liked her performance very much, I expected that she would come and win the next time! What happened?
The feeling of a dotted rhythm in the first bar was disconcerting. Those three repeated octaves are meant to firmly establish tempo and pulse (6/8 times), in my opinion. Still, it was a lovely performance.
I think it was an interpretive choice on her part and I respect that. She was very consistent with the “push-pull” that seemed to evoke waves of emotion. Chopin purists are very picky about the way this particular ballade is presented, but I think it is the one that most begs for artistic license.
@@orlandocfi You make valid points and I agree with you. I do think it is more convincing to "play" with the pulse after it has been clearly established.
She makes this fearsomely difficult piece sound almost easy - the mark of a true artist and a tribute to the years of hard work such musical stars have to put in.
Chopin + Natalie = un instant de bonheur
Merci merci merci !

Heart stopping. What a gorgeous demeanor she has and what a sumptuous sound.

Yes, for me it is also like and incredible journey. Studying this Ballade is like going up to the Himalaya. Great music.

You are more than amazing, this interpretation is one of the best I've ever seen. Wonderful
Perfect, like everything you do! Wherever appropriate (through most of the piece): gentle, relaxed, tender melancholy!

Always Talented! Now she's a Beautiful Lady!
The signs on the seats...thanks Natalie for this great performance amid the covid pandemic
Wonderful, wonderful artist, always showcasing the music to the best of her ever-increasing ability, instead of herself.

I've been waiting for this! Thank you! I really enjoy your Chopin and your interpretation of the ballades. Hope you upload the 2nd one too!
Splendida, come sempre...
Très beau et très senti. Merci pour ce moment de bonheur musical.
Aussi bien que zimermman
