Sound of the RC142 is so similar to the then production CB92 125 twin which I got to see race at Dodge City, Ks in 1959. A friend of mine from Wichita won the 125cc race on his new CB92 fitted with as many of the factory race parts available at the time. Hearing those little twins scream down the straightaways was a thrill then, my h.s. senior year. The Honda importer had an RC142 on display as well as one of the then current four-cylinder 250cc factory racers but I don't recall them being fired up for any demonstration.

There was the name "Eddie" on the windscreen of the NSR 500. More, the bike had traditional forks, and not upside-down. So, this could be a tribute to Eddie Lawson, too? ☺It's so nostalgic to me watching at this marvelous 2T, I think the most beautiful race bikes ever. Bikes of today are exasperated to the edge, they seem like spaceships, all is electronic, riders are at the edge risking all for all. I find it would be much more interesting and funny watching at these "unrideables" bikes and the evolutions they made with those, than arriving at 360km/h without "romance" and the emotions of when riding was such a "rodeo". Yes, I am definitely nostalgic.😉

I'm wondering if that's Eddie Lawson's old bike? I ask insofar as Eddie was the last rider to ride with #1 in Rothman's colours.
On Edit: Dopey Me! I just read the comments in the description.

My first bike was a 1962 CB92 Honda Benly Sport. I loved it and taught me how to ride 👍 Handsome, Fast & Beautifully Engineered

In a couple of interviews he actually said it was a far better bike than his Yamahas, and easier to ride.

88 nsr (same bike less power) ended Bubba Schoberts career Gardner described as unrideable thru everyone who rode it down the road
89 nsr same thing broke Gardners leg etc yet everyone on 88 yzr won or podiumed (lawson rainey magee sarron) same on 89 yzr. I think the great man was trying to stick it to Ago and Yamaha for what they did to him....
