Hi, kinda cis guy here and i looooove getting my nails done. I feel naked when I dont at least have a top coat. I'm surrounded by women who love to practice on real hands and mine are a rather large canvas. I will never understand straight men and their genuine disgust for anything pretty and femininity. Just do all black. I will never leave the house without painted nails again tbh

One day my friends and I were joking around with each other. One of them had just got new nails (thses things looked like claws, a red color and were loooooonnnngg), and one of the guys in the group was wondering how she did just everyday things. She started to explain that she just kind of got used to it, he was amazed to say the least. Then we talked about different styles there are, and he was wondering if he could slowly work his way up to long stiletto's. We kept talking about it and encouraging him. Eventually he said something the lines of "What if I don't like them though?". So we suggested having someone paint his nails first to see if he even liked them(nothing fancy, it'd be like if you painted them one color at home). I offered to bring some nail polish the next day(because I was the one person who would do my mails at home instead of a salon, so I had quite a bit).
I got to school the next day and asked him if was still down to do it. He was surprised that I even remembered(I forget things really easily), but we got to place down some paper towels that we found on a table and I pulled out the nail polish from my bag. He made a comment about it being black and that he was about to look emo, but I assured him it was because black goes with everything and I didn't know what he was wearing(I also didn't think he had nail polish remover). A few minutes go by and I finish painting one hand(we did one because he was getting used to color being on his nails), I told him to wait about 10 or 15 min. before touching anything, he came back to me latter because he accidentally brushed a finger with semi-wet polish on his clothes. No one could tell though, he was wearing a black shirt that day. I re did the finger he messed up and he was super careful the second time. By the end of the class we did it in(don't worry we weren't doing anything that day in the class) he told me he had fun doing it and wouldn't try much anything outside of black polish.
I'm actually kind if happy that he tried it!

QUEEN TRUTH. Toxic masculinity does not refer to masculinity as a whole. Being masculine is fine. What is not okay is when people begin to feel that they are unable to express themselves in any manner not perceived as masculine, when in reality it’s completely fine. Toxic masculinity refers to people who believe the only way men are allowed to act is in a masculine way. Which, in itself, is completely objective in today’s world as “gender norms” begin to fade away (for example, it was mentioned in the video that more men are going to nail salons when it was previously only something women, gay men, or drag queens did). People are allowed to express themselves however they would like. But, toxic masculinity prevents many people from doing so because it is telling people who it deems as “masculine” that they must act that way. As I mentioned earlier, masculinity is fine but it becomes an issue when people take it to the extreme and feel that men cannot be anything but that.
I hope this didn’t come off as an attack. Feel free to discuss this with me, as I am sure I’m missing some crucial points!

well there is a large difference between experiencing someone in reality and simply getting to know them virtually. they edit a lot out of videos however, I believe there were a ton of signs. for example, how he always had his complaints as if his children were an issue. I understand needing to vent and having real world issues within marriage but go to therapy, no need to cheat and embarrass everyone.
