Peppino is a war veteran. I don't care whether or not McPig confirmed it and then decomfirmed it before the game, he has been through a war either way. Edit: surprised by how many people who forgot the WAR level existed. People, use your brain and stop arguing over drunk comments made by the dev.
if peppino is able to run a sonic speeds, kill entire armies and kill a entire squad of bosses at once at the end, he is definetly gonna be a killing machine in war.
Exactly, and these are his capabilities when he's a middle aged man. IMAGINE what sort of killing machine peppino would be at 18 when he joined the war. The TV in WAR even portrays him as a ripped guy (while I think that purely for the lolz, It could also be a younger version of peppino).
I got spoiled on WAR and knew exactly what was coming. I knew the requirements for the War Camo outfit/clothes, so I did every level and P ranked John Gutter in preparation. And my efforts were not in vain. I ran through that level like my life depended on it, like the entire game built up to this level and I only had ONE shot at accomplishing what I wanted. As I got further into the level and watched as the timer slowly ticked down, I panicked more and more. Every mistake was a “major time loss” and my brain completely overestimated what a tiny mistake like missing one shotgun shot could do to hurt my chances. In the end I made it, but I was *shaking.* Not even kidding. It felt like I was in the level itself the entire damn time, unlike every other level I went through. Lap 2 is fun, and finding secrets and the secret treasures in levels are also fun. The final boss was amazing, but nothing gave me as much adrenaline as WAR did. I can’t wait to P rank this level, god I love pizza tower.
I started playing Pizza Tower with the upfront knowledge that Peppino was a war veteran and pretty much nothing else besides like, P ranks and the release trailer. I'm the sort of lad who an English teacher would praise for immediately looking for things in any piece of writing that can only be interpreted, and DAMN does this game have so many PTSD motifs and references. Peppino did something during that war, and this game is just his version of accepting/getting over it.
I went in only not knowing the boss’s songs, cause I had the whole thing spoiled by the internet but I still wanted to have some part new so I didn’t look at the boss’s songs
@@МатвейМасалов-ф1р Oh yeah the timer and the other sounds is damn cool , but hearing the cocking just made me question, why not before the song started?
Sorry to break it to you but I'm pretty sure the timer's rhythm is slightly changed from how it plays in game to be on beat rather than play once every second
The amount of Hotline Miami vibes this have is fucking insane, the level is already pure anxiety and existencial dread, it's just sounds so heroic and completely different from other themes in the game. This game fucking rocks.
2:08 is so incredibly hype and ominous. The beeping in the background, the single synth chords walking up and down, the frantic thumping kick all the way into the whistle and timer rewind as the music kicks into overdrive. It’s all so well-executed.
The fact that this one level drops all the silly pizza themeing and goes out on the war aesthetic, along with the oppressive timer sound, makes this a huge tonal shift that I wasn't expecting. Really well done. Also, I love how after the Lap 2 bells chime, there's no more time increases, just like in the level
This level FEELS like the final level. Its like the tower is sending everything it has at Peppino. and Peppino uses the shotgun like its the last thing he has. I feel like throughout floor 5, Peppino's fear grows. Yet his determination grows stronger. And dont even get me started on this part of the song 2:22. Absolute fire
The whistle at 0:40 makes me think of how in World War 1 a whistle would be sounded to signal men to “go over the top”. Leave the trench and rush across the “no man’s land” between the trenches in a nearly suicidal charge. Wow this level is dark lol
Hello, I just want to make it clear about Peppino being a war veteran. It's canon due to The Noise update. There are war medals in Peppino's room. Now shut up, sit down, think of all the positives of Peppino being a war veteran, and just listen to the music. Oh, and I think this video is a FUCKING BANGER It just does something that I love that I can't explain.
From what i've read so far I want to theorize that due to the emptiness of the first areas and the full-ness of the later areas, I like to think that Peppino was was known to be the fastest to make their way into some super secret bunker inside the level to steal something before it was nuked to hell and back
I know that the creator later backed off about making a Peppino a war vet, but after he also said Peppino doesn't play TF2 because "It hits close to home" made me thing that at his "war" he prolly had the role of Scout He's fast and his main weapon is a shotgun, secondary a pistol. If he indeed where to fight in a TF2 style war he most certainly had the role of storming/flanking places and get as many enemies possible, as well capturing something of value and return to base (Maybe even carrying explosives about to go off on trenches before he ran out of time)
@@Teknanam He indeed did. It wouldn't be so much of a deal if it happened once or twice but it seems he constantly do this Say something is canon out of the nowhere, reaffirming it is only to backpedal and deny it even when the community liked it for what it was (like the War Vet stuff)
I was listening to music while playing New Super Luigi Bros U, and this song came on when I was playing a level in star word where you need to run or get crushed by falling blocks. Never played Pizza Tower, but I bet it gives anxiety to an effect like that.
WAR is just *phenomenal,* especially on your first attempt. In my opinion WAR is the best level in the game, especially because of my experience with it, leaving me *shaking* after I beat it.
I was re-listening to Thousand March and its various remixes here on RUclips and kept feeling they were all missing SOMETHING... In hindsight it seems so obvious, this is the only truly complete version of the Thousand March!
I like the attention to detail at 3:45 of there not being a timer extension sound effect here despite there being one the previous time the song hit this part, and that’s because you played the Lap 2 sound effect, and anyone who’s gone through the hell that is Lap 2 WAR should know that you get all your timers at the start instead of periodically, just like every other level. Great mix!
I think S-Ranking it the first time took me 11 attempt to get everything, then another 2 getting the second lap. Much easier when you can just skip parts of the level so very nice touch indeed, but my unwanted opinion is that if you never stop its not too bad :]
lap 1 is just speeding trough the level, in lap 2, there is time for the secrets. P ranking WAR is kind of fun tho, the satisfaction when you hit the corners right :)
i like to think that when the timer runs out in war they were calling an airstrike on you and you were just delaying it long enough so you could escape
i love how this gives the feeling: " i feel heroic being a soilder here fighting in the chaos. but just like everyone else, even i dont want to be here.. "
Petition for Peppino to have a War Camo helmet in the game when you wear the War Camo clothes or just enter war by yourself. (Please for god sake, sign this.)
2:50 this part hits very hard, it reminds all of the runs that you failed, and when you hear it you say: I can't lose again but BRUH I sound like a npc💀💀💀💀
"Memories can be good, but horrible at the same time. When you suffer, when you're in pain, anxious if someone is behind you, worried that someone is aiming at you, you never forget it, *and you never will* "
Fun fact: if your hear closely you can actually hear marching in the background. I personally think is a nice detail they added for peppinos memories of being in war
I have a theory that the reason the timer still goes on in the secrets unlike pizza time timer is because he has a bomb strapped to the shotgun, and needs to destroy computers to add more time, which is also probably the reason why the timer starts AFTER picking the shotgun up? I also have a theory that real time stops in those secret eyeballs. Which is why pizza time timer freezes
@@ДаниилОрленко-ф6п maybe the shotgun has some c4 on the handle or something so that when he passes the no gun zone the c4 still stuck? I dont know its just a random theory i made up in the shower
You would think the music doesent fit well because the amount of intensity the song has is always constant. Thats because every second you are rushing for the computer to get more time so you dont die. It fits so well out of all of the levels, truly a masterpeice
It’s important not ignore that on the WAR title card, the running Peppino is has the Thousand Yard Stare on his face. That little detail freaked me out.
I kinda look at this level as a sort of “final exam” before the fight with Pizzaface. It’s usually the last level players complete on floor 5, and it’s the last level left for me to P rank at the time of writing (aside from Pizzaface and the Crumbling Tower of Pizza).
I don't care if people headcanon Peppino as a war veteran (regardless of whether or not it's confirmed he is), the idea that he had such a lucid dream of some war that he gets PTSD from playing TF2 will never stop being funny for me. (Or not funny. Sorry, veterans.)
I'm surprised I didn't find anyone pointing out how the timer in the thumbnail is the same as the length of the video. I don't blame them, took me putting this on the background as I do stuff for the hundredth time to notice..
I was curious to see if the timer would actually run out given the "timer going up" sound effects being where they are. WAR starts off with 40 seconds on the clock. To be generous, I'll go from where the timer starts beeping in the video, 0:15. We have until 0:55. The terminal destroyed at 0:42 extends it to 1:25. The one at 1:24(!) extends it to 1:55, and sadly the next one isn't until 2:21.
Peppino was augmented during the war to be a super soldier able to run at incredible speeds and have incredible strength against his will, to control him they strapped a bomb to him
0:43 That bit is less of war and more showing that Peppino is suffering the whole time and the despair that he feels But keeps the same tone at all while doing it
Never play this in your car
You will accidentally start speeding

Exactly, and these are his capabilities when he's a middle aged man. IMAGINE what sort of killing machine peppino would be at 18 when he joined the war.
The TV in WAR even portrays him as a ripped guy (while I think that purely for the lolz, It could also be a younger version of peppino).
Anyone else noticed that Peppino entered the pizza portal without grabbing extra time? Thats such a badass decision.
I love that the timer is on beat instead of counting in seconds. Adds to the anxiety of the track so well.
What if it's both
I honestly can't tell, I think it's actually counting seconds.
If you see the time of the video it actually goes almost perfectly in seconds
I think the timer goes at 60 BPM so yeah, but in the game it’s normally off time.
exactly what i needed to relive the trauma of going into this level for the first time, thanks
i ran out of time in the very last room on my first time
and i mean like my very first time seeing this level
2:08 is so incredibly hype and ominous. The beeping in the background, the single synth chords walking up and down, the frantic thumping kick all the way into the whistle and timer rewind as the music kicks into overdrive. It’s all so well-executed.
1:53 for extra buildup!
4:15 With the marching and beeping, it sounds like a heart beat in the mix (while using headphones)
It does
That's cause the beep sound effect has a heart beat. At least that's part of it
This level FEELS like the final level. Its like the tower is sending everything it has at Peppino. and Peppino uses the shotgun like its the last thing he has. I feel like throughout floor 5, Peppino's fear grows. Yet his determination grows stronger. And dont even get me started on this part of the song 2:22. Absolute fire
Legitimately terrifying lol
The whistle at 0:40 makes me think of how in World War 1 a whistle would be sounded to signal men to “go over the top”. Leave the trench and rush across the “no man’s land” between the trenches in a nearly suicidal charge. Wow this level is dark lol
Hello, I just want to make it clear about Peppino being a war veteran.
It's canon due to The Noise update. There are war medals in Peppino's room.
Now shut up, sit down, think of all the positives of Peppino being a war veteran, and just listen to the music.
Oh, and I think this video is a FUCKING BANGER
It just does something that I love that I can't explain.
Noise update is just a Pizza tower film, made by Noise, so those medals are fake, but Peppino not being a war veteran, is a huge mistake
From what i've read so far I want to theorize that due to the emptiness of the first areas and the full-ness of the later areas, I like to think that Peppino was was known to be the fastest to make their way into some super secret bunker inside the level to steal something before it was nuked to hell and back
I know that the creator later backed off about making a Peppino a war vet, but after he also said Peppino doesn't play TF2 because "It hits close to home" made me thing that at his "war" he prolly had the role of Scout
He's fast and his main weapon is a shotgun, secondary a pistol. If he indeed where to fight in a TF2 style war he most certainly had the role of storming/flanking places and get as many enemies possible, as well capturing something of value and return to base (Maybe even carrying explosives about to go off on trenches before he ran out of time)

I was re-listening to Thousand March and its various remixes here on RUclips and kept feeling they were all missing SOMETHING... In hindsight it seems so obvious, this is the only truly complete version of the Thousand March!
I believe the timer is for when the bombs in the background explode bc they are pretty much ww2 era nukes the shape and the parachute indicates so

2:21 I honestly love these sounds here
3:29 Lap 2!
Much easier when you can just skip parts of the level
so very nice touch indeed, but my unwanted opinion is that if you never stop its not too bad :]
lap 1 is just speeding trough the level, in lap 2, there is time for the secrets. P ranking WAR is kind of fun tho, the satisfaction when you hit the corners right :)

Your theory breaks on lap 2 because you running 2nd lap without shotgun.

After the load of the shotgun I imagine Peppino jumping off a plane in free dive and using it to destroy missiles in mid fall before they hit him.
Peppino was augmented during the war to be a super soldier able to run at incredible speeds and have incredible strength against his will, to control him they strapped a bomb to him
