You just saved us more aggravation than you could imagine. Wireless sensor kept glitching up and going off completely randomly. After several battery changes and not wanting to pay 200 dollars to have the tech come and replace it, started searching for a way to delete that zone. This morning, the alarm went off, jumped up with gun in hand, found that same zone triggered again, that I thought was fixed two days ago....that was the last straw. I found your video, followed your instructions and now the house is CALM again! That sensor was not needed in the location it was at, and now it resides in the trash can. Thank you!
You are absolutely GENIUS!! I know this is probably what you do day to day but thank you!! I work in low voltage for satellite and could not get mine to do anything. I searched for 6 hours to find a step by step for the 6150!! Your a god send and things are working great so far. I goes off without reason or code but stops with the push of a button.. Thank you for being so kind as to share. I will post your video on some of the websites that people said, if you have a 6150 your SOL.. Thanks a lot!!! And would love to get more advice from you about the random beeping!!
Alleluia - finally a video that shows the programming entries on alpha and non-alpha keypads side by side. I've been trying to solve wireless device programming on a non-alpha keypad for months and now I've succeeded, thanks to this video. Much appreciated!
Wow, this is really awesome. I bought a house over a hear ago and was able back then to do a reset to put my own installer code. However, yesterday I started playing with zones and got lost ... left it in an unknown state overnight and was able to get out of it today by luck. Now that I found your videos, I know exactly what to expect and how to do those thing on my non-alpha keyboard. I paused your videos and created cheat sheets based on yours. This is great, thanks for creating those videos! I can finally replace what seems like a broken door sensor!
i’m late to the party …. but thank you so much for this informative video! i just recently gotten this alarm system and had no idea how i was gonna program door sensors. really big help here.
This video is perfect! We had a medical pendant that was programmed from the previous owner and showed a check zone number! Deleted the zone! Thank you so much!
Thank you very much for having this excellent instructional video available to the public. I have a ProWatch 3000 and without your video, I would not be able to program additional wireless window/door sensors[Honeywell 5816WMWH] into my system because the panel showed nothing with each step but only a few numbers. Having an Alpha keypad along in your instruction was so much helpful. I would be really good also if you provide a more detail explanation of the zone type during the set up. I was a little confused over this. Good job.
Helped a lot. My old house system skipped the first question, "Set to confirm". Right after typing *56, it displayed zone number(01~96) -> * -> summary(blank) -> * -> zone type(00~90) -> * -> report code("10", when type, 01 00) -> * -> summary(the same with report code) -> * -> something with the same report code(???) -> * -> next zone.... To escape menu mode, type "00" on the zone number. Then type *99 again to escape programming mode. Thanks.
great help i just stared a new job and know nothing about alarm system programming. Concord 4 systems and new installs and trouble calls in various homes. So thank you for the info.Share more
Thank you for the video, this is great. while you are talking about the zones, how to program the panic keys the A,B,C,D for panic, away and stay? To program to call the police, medical and fire directly I have to use a 2 way keypad right?
Thanks I reset new master, but previous installer set the duress but I don't know which user is there way to check? Also is there way to check which user is being a standard user? Do I need Zone 92?
Excellent video!! Just what I needed to see. One question though, I have a sensor that went bad and needs replacing for zone 13 door entry. Do I need to delete the zone to add the new sensor or will the defaults still be in there and I write the new serial number over the old or learn the serial number like you did with the magnet twice?
I didn’t have installer code but got in through the back door. I tried reprogramming but it was like the zone didn’t exist. 13 was the fault so I reprogrammed 13 and entered new serial number and it’s like 13 is not longer in the system.
I am trying to assign a zone to wireless transmitter 5882 RF. what type of the zone do I use? What about serial number for transmitter? Do I put anything in?
I have Ademco Vista 10, and 6510RF keypad withe remote keyfobs. The system is show 'Batt' on zones 53-56 which is one of keyfob. I replaced with new batteries but the keypad is still slow 'batt'. Please help.
Nice tutorial. Thanks! Helped me get out of a sticky situation where I was stuck programming a *56 option with a standard keyboard. How do I tell if my Vista 20-P is capable of accepting wireless devices such as a wireless motion detector? Does it need to have some wireless module installed? Thanks.
Although my newly installed panel shows as ADT SafeWatch 3000 Pro, it looks and works like the Ademco Vista 20 .. it took me 2 days to find the correct instructions ... this one works. I typed up the instructions into a text file to help others, but couldn't upload it here. @Kraka069, Thanks.

Thank you for the video you saved me a lot of headaches. I have few questions. How do you find out master code because I only have installer code and it is not 1234. Also how do you program duress code? What zone type do I use for Fire button(1 and *) zone 95, I used 24 hr ax for zone 96? Thanks AGAIN!!
This is a great help, thanks. Do you know if there is any way (I have non alpha keypad) to see what zones are currently programmed and what type type of zone each is? I want to verify each zone is programmed correctly and see what type (entry or perimeter).
Hi, I tried your method to program the front door entry wireless switch with a standard keypad; followed exactly your step. (steps seem to be correct despite limited display on the panel) Now there is no chime when I open the door and no fault showing in the panel. I can alarm the system while having the door open. It was working fine (beeps when opening the door) but I just want to try your method to re-program the front door to different zone type and partition. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know where went wrong? Thanks a lot.

Helpful video for us non-professionals working with professional systems. I have two non-alpha keypads wires to my fa168cps first alert system. Is it possible to add a wireless keypad; one that is not wires to the main box/circuit board? Can I purchase a cheap alpha-keypad to wire to the board for programming? although I think with you tutorial, I can add a couple glass breaks. My goal is to add several glass breaks and a siren (if possible for basement) and motion sensor. I probably need the model number off of the keypads...which I have not attempted to take apart yet to see model number on back. any help I'd appreciate. thanks. Adrian
just ebay yourself a 6160 Keypad.. should be good to go .. Set the address to 16 , then you have to enable address 17, 18, in programming if not done.. set your other keypads to 17, 18 and your good to go
Before I read your answer, bought a 560K? which is wired and replaced my Master keypad with this to program. I added the glassbreaks and a 5800TM and wireless keypads to go with this...the 5827bd's. Unfortunately, I cannot add a wireless siren with the 5800TM...so I read...but the 6160 would have allowed me to do all of this. I referred to the manual for the choice of the 560...but the 6160 came out after the manual I suppose. Maybe I'll replace the 560 eventually with the 6160RF and add the wavesiren. Thanks Much!
My vista ademco numeric pad is showing message (100) or at least that what it looks like because it is so confusing screen!! Any idea how to get rid of that message and another question will that keypad display time and date or is unable to do that. Thanks for help.
i believe check 100 is missing RF receiver. I don't think it can be done as a permanent display. you can do a code-#63 (I think) to display and/or edit the date.
This works for adding new zones correct? Or if I add new zones will I have to reprogram all my wireless zones? I'd like to program zones 17, 18, 19, 20 but don't want to have to reprogram all the others. Thank!
I have a ademco vista 10p. The video helps since I don't have an alpha display. But after *56, I dont get a blank screen. I just get 01. After hitting 1 digit(0), the display goes to 00 (or 10 if I hit 1). I hit 9*. display=09 () so maybe I am at zone 09. Hit * then 03 (perimeter) then * but the display shows 30. Is this what I type or now Report Code? Hit * the display shows 05. What the.. Not sure what that is. Still hard without the alpha display. Also the wireless contacts are on the door and windows. Could they still be learned into the system from a distance from the keypad. They use to work before my previous security company reset my system because I am switching to a new monitoring company.
Kraka069 Thanks I had downloaded the manual. Since I cant see the questions I am still not sure about the responses. Would it help if i updated to a HW.Ademco 6160 keypad? Do you think a new keypad could coexist with the old keypad model (I had 2) hooked to a vista 10P?
I think installer code +802 +new code should set a new master Master code - 8 - User Number - #13 (this changes user# to a duress code) 95 Fire is zone type 9 96 can be an 8 for medical 99 07 for audible panic or 06 for silent panic
Yeah we should talk about the touchscreen know keypads disturb is a piece of crap a piece of junk yeah I don't like that Vista system and nothing but trouble since us it overheats we had a best the system and I'm glad it got rid of it piece of crap either drunken it's a big nightmare yeah this is this is Fred yeah the one wants us to mock the best interest of fire fire light panel bye honey well that's the system I like the best is a lot better than that of Vista the crapola
Great video. Very clearly explained. I have a Vista 10P security system and having trouble programming a wireless door/window transmitter. I'm using a 6150RF keypad, so I'm trying to program blindly guessing at the prompts. Can you tell me the difference(s) in the prompts for Vista 10P programming. If I don't hear the beeps when tripping the transmitter (assuming my programming steps are correct), what are the common causes of this? Thanks in advance.

Thank you 🙏🏽. So kind of you, greatly appreciated. Regards.
This works for adding new zones correct? Or if I add new zones will I have to reprogram all my wireless zones? I'd like to program zones 17, 18, 19, 20 but don't want to have to reprogram all the others.
Thank!
you dont have to reprogram old zones , just move to an unsued zone
Kraka069 thank you!!!! Added 4 new zones!!!!
Could they still be learned into the
system from a distance from the keypad.
They use to work before my previous security company reset my system because I am
switching to a new monitoring company.
go to site.aesecurity.com/Manuals/vista10pprogramming.pdf
page 7 should help
Kraka069 Thanks I had downloaded the manual. Since I cant see the questions I am still not sure about the responses. Would it help if i updated to a HW.Ademco 6160 keypad? Do you think a new keypad could coexist with the old keypad model (I had 2) hooked to a vista 10P?

just delete all the codes your not using. if its a 20p you can set user authority., of older 20 , it will be user 16. zone 92?
I think installer code +802 +new code should set a new master
Master code - 8 - User Number - #13 (this changes user# to a duress code)
95 Fire is zone type 9
96 can be an 8 for medical
99 07 for audible panic

Great video. Very clearly explained. I have a Vista 10P security system and having trouble programming a wireless door/window transmitter. I'm using a 6150RF keypad, so I'm trying to program blindly guessing at the prompts. Can you tell me the difference(s) in the prompts for Vista 10P programming. If I don't hear the beeps when tripping the transmitter (assuming my programming steps are correct), what are the common causes of this? Thanks in advance.
