Honestly this has to be one of the best looking SUVs. It reminds me of Bumblebee from Transformers. It is very futuristic and elegant. I love it !

Where are manufacturers getting their info regarding people actually liking touch screens all over the place? I absolutely cannot fathom how a person would prefer a touch screen to a dial or button in regards to climate controls and seat adjustments...

@Amine WOOF Fair enough if thats your opinion. From what ive seen, people do tend to like this more than the x6 and gle. I think the front looks aggressive and mean, and the rear three quarter angle when Matt is demonstrating the boot, is stunning. What is it you dislike about it?

I might be biased but this "coupé" SUV looks quite handsome (compared to X6), the roofline & its height it's just in the right proportion 👌🏼i so like the interior it's slick & modern, but still imma stick with my statement that in general "Coupé" SUVs are stupid.
@Cave Edico there's a few main reasons, 1st the proportion it's so awkward (look at the bmw x4, x6, or tesla model x), 2nd you don't get the practicality of a suv because of the roofline cuts the rear seats & boot space, 3rd people who bought coupe wanted a low driving position which again you don't get that in those vehicle because it's suv

VIZIN audi are shit, they were always cheaper to the like of Bmw & Mercedes so approx some 15 years ago they decided to bump thier prices up to the German rivals. So they look classy and expensive! Makes me laugh you could buy an audi a5 front wheel drive? Bmw & Mercedes would never do that to a car in that segment because it destroys the handling!

The way you explained the grill is on another level
The Audi Q8 is a beautiful SUV. I like the fact that the Q8 is very spacious in the back and have two USB ports and a 12 volt jack. the dashboard and the infotainment of the Q8 are awesome. the Q8 design is gorgeous. I like the fact that the Q8 four wheels turned when you make a turned.

@@the-boring-car-guy Except you can't get the RS6, RS4 as a saloon which is mind boggling as they try to compete with the M5, M3, C63 and E63, and there is no A3 5 door hatchback it's just a dull mini estate.

Great review as usual Matt, But I would like to see you do a comparison test of the latest SUV's ie; this new Audi Q8 vs the new Bmw X5 M50D vs the new Mercedes GLE, to see which one in your opinion would be the best all round buy.

I know the voice commands work for the heated seats on my A6. I ordered a Q8 yesterday so will find out in a few months if it works on a Q8. Saying "Set heated seats to level 3" usually does the job!
Matt on point, infotaiment is much easyer and safer to use in Audi Q7, with rotary wheel and you dont have to take your eyes of the road so much and I really hate touch screen and streaching your arm all the time. I drive the new A4 with MMI plus, virtual cocpit and that system is great and safe !

I think Audi are doing it right when it comes to their new design(except for the tips in some models..), as well as compared to Merce or BMW..
And just the way that they went for the frameless door windows!

Yes, it does save money, but it's more complicated than that. By using fake exhausts, manufacturers can, for example, use different rear bumper designs without needing to change the design of the exhaust system. For example, the S-line and non S-line versions of the Q8 will have different bumper designs but use the same exhaust layout. Also, many cars that have minor rear-end collisions will just need to replace the rear bumpers and not the entire exhaust system (dependant on the damage of course). There are also other factors related to thermodynamics/physics, but I don't know too much on that but I am sure you can research it if you are really interested. In the end, it is cost saving and really doesn't make much of a difference, to be honest. You might think the fake exhausts look ugly, but a potential buyer might not care at all about the fake exhausts. It is just aesthetics, and there are significantly more important factors to consider when buying a car than how the exhaust system looks. If they can save money whilst not negatively impacting sales, then why not do it?

Great SUV and entertaining review- typical Mat. Now please more sensible choice- comparison review of Santa Fe, Kodiak and Sorento in 7 seater versions. Usual comparison plus how they are with airbags- safety for third row of seats as that's where mostly the most important passengers- small kids spend time..Thanks

I really hate the cruise control stick . Those controls should be on the wheel. I always mistake that with the turn signal stick. Also at VW I mistake those controls for the audio volume.

I have a theory, they send the reviewers these dodgy colours to give them sales exposure.
