We left 'crazy' land and moved to Italy in 2021 - no regrets here. The cost of living in Southern Italy is less than half what it would be in the states. Keep up the good work.
Curious, have wages risen along with the costs of goods and merchandise? Where are you from? Vancouver Canada where I am, prices are crazy. $2200 (€1500) for a small 1 bedroom apartment
We’ve moved to Liguria from Minnesota , US in June and everything is cheap compare to US. We don’t have a car anymore, taxi is fraction of the price of US rates.
I live between Italy (Florence) and NYC and spend time in many other parts of the US. The US is much more expensive for everything - except for gasoline. That said don't need a car here and have quite good public transport and access where I live. Food is much cheaper and utilities are still cheaper than in the USA - it also depends on your home and what type of heating and cooling system you have. If you have replaced windows and doors then you can save any more.
I own a 1 bedroom condo in the village of Scotia in NY and my electrical bill was $69.00 for the month of May. My condo runs 100% on electricity. Eggs $2.30 a dozen. Celery $1.87. Gasoline $5.00 a gallon. Bus $1.50.
In fact, I stated it in the video that I'm not comparing the prices to the US ones; it's about current Italian prices vs. prices here a few months/one year ago 😊
We just moved to Italy and are wondering if there are tickets that can be bought for monthly travel in regions of Italy? could you cover on your next video about saving money on travel?
So helpful to watch your videos ! 🙏🌸🌸 I wanted to know when visiting Rome if I’d need to get a city pass, Romapass or other passes available there? Or in my case, planning to stay 5 days max to visit only a few of the sites, Vatican, Sistine Chapel, Colosseum and Borghese Villa is it worth it? Thank you so much for all your videos ! 🙏🌸🌸
Honestly, I’m not an expert on Rome as I’ve been there only a couple of times 🙈 however, speaking from my general experience, I’d recommend you to compare the total price of separate entry tickets to the places you actually want to visit vs the price of the pass, to see if that makes sense. Sometimes a pass will save you money, but if you’re planning to visit only a few places, it might be wiser to get separate tickets. Enjoy your trip!
It depends, if you're buying a ticket for a regional train it doesn't matter, but if you're opting for high-speed trains it's better to start searching in advance!
You're missing the point of purchasing power. If it's more expensive and wages haven't gone up then it doesn't matter if it's cheaper than Amsterdam because the local Italians aren't earning Amsterdam wages
I actually said that in the video, I was comparing Italian prices now to the prices there used to be a few months/a year ago :) Wasn't trying to compare it with other countries.
Oh, absolutely! I was talking about studio apartments, but if you're fine with living with roommates, you can find rooms for about €350 (approximately, there are cheaper rooms, and more expensive too, so I highly recommend you to start searching now as the demand is really high!). Best of luck 😊
@@DramaticallyExpatic Thank you very much for answering my question😊 At first, i love your videos for my preparations for my stay in Bologna! I cant wait to go!! Can you recommend any website for rooms, I can only find the commercial website..

What about salaries. Is it best in Italy than USA. Seen the program for presicee and thinking about it.
@@JourneywithKasitti honestly couldn't answer that as we are both retired. Sorry Kasitti.

Sadly, the wages haven't changed much :(

Because American money is better than European money

May I know what job u do to live between Italy and nyc? Sounds interesting, I’m also interested in living between those two countries
Hong Kong is not affordable . It’s worse than New York

I was paying in Milan 6euro for a glass of wine with snacks (apperitivo) back in 2008 up to 2010.
Still paying that much in Florence.

New lipstick color?
Exactly :D
I don't know what happens maybe the war everything is expensive in USA , Canada , Europe ,
I forgot to mention my HOA fee is $200.00 a month rents are $875.00 and up.
I didn't know it was that cheap in NY. In tampa I pay $110 in electrivity for the summer months. Rent for an old 1/1 apt is about 800 including water
Not unique to Italy; same everywhere (and Italy still isn’t that bad vs other European countries)

TRUE

Hi,
I am going to study in Bologna in september. Do you have suggestions for rent a room/studio? I can only find rooms for €600?
Thank you😊
