Thank you for your patience and hopefully there will be a stream this Friday. As always my favorite comment on this video will be featured at the end of the next! Thanks for watching!
I've been a Spear apologist since I saw one of your streams a while back where you mentioned it can stealth clear bot fabs, and tried it out for myself. Hit a factory strider that was pinning down a teammate from 300+ meters with it the other day. Just as another teammate was commenting how impressive that was, my game immediately crashed. 10/10 would run it again.
I wanted to love the spear since launch(just like the heavy MG, machine guns in general and assault rifles) and I'm really happy that now it works cuz I really like it. The other day I saved a teammate from a bile titan (one of 4) as he was 150+ meters away. He was alone getting swarmed while the rest of the team was going for the extraction but he got stuck due to an earlier bug breach, having him running to the opposite direction, with 4-5 bile Titans going for us and 1 going for him. After sniping it across half the map, he then wrote thank you in the chat. First and last time in the whole match anyone wrote anything. First time I had someone thanking me. It was nice. Well I had a few people using the in game message "thank you" a few times but it's not the same. That one feels more of a "you respawned me on top of my stuff, pinged it to me, then proceeded to cover me while I got it back" kinda thank you (yep, that's me and the reason I got thanked with the in game message a few times).
The irony is the weapon is so useful now that the reason the weapon doesn't outright sweep the other options is cause the ammo economy bottlenecks the hell out of it.
@@GalladeTheWarriorammo backpack takes up backpack slot, could work in Teamplay if a teammate brings one, but considering it only refills 2 shots it might be better to save those packs for stims and primaries. Idk, I'm not smart enough to make that decision, I'm just smart enough to hit a fabricator from 200 meters away at the same time my teammate throws a stratagem at it
Just remember NOT to fire in the air while doing this cause you'd technically be higher. Wait to hit the ground then pop the buggers. Works really well I can attest to this.
Had a pleasant experience with randoms where I was the only one who brought a heavy weapon against the bots. I brought the Spear. I was taking out fabs, hulks, tanks, strongholds, and gunships like a true heavy weapons guy. Even had a teammate topping me off with a supply pack
Wish they would add a "fire mode" to this, free fire, smaller targets(scout strider, brood commander, spewers), larger targets(charger, titans, factory striders, buildings and the like) gotta keep the utility to lock on brood commanders and the like, as they ARE the biggest target on some difficulties. But keeping that relagated as a fire mode would be best way to both keep that function out of the way, and useable.
Just in general, it would be really cool if they did something more interesting with the fire modes in this game, and gave them distinct handling and more reasons to exist. As it is, there is basically no weapon that doesn't have one most correct setting (except the RoF selection for the machine guns, _maybe_ ).
@@BackwardsPancake For instance why is there a burst or semi mode on the breaker incendiary? -Semi is just as fast as burst -Burst only fires up to 3 shots but otherwise doesn't lock you into firing all 3 of those rounds. Speeds the same, damage is the same, no difference between the two besides how often you click.... which is spam trigger anyways to get the most shots when being swamped. Giving us a choke option to narrow spread and slow RoF or widen spread and increase RoF would be immensely more valuable. Sort of like how real shotguns do it... :3 Same is true of all shotguns though honestly.
The first 18s is 100% me. The Spear was my favorite Anti-tank option from the moment I bought it...when it worked. It was by far my favorite weapon to bring on Bot search and destroy missions, especially on Malevolon creek. Back then, and even now, there's something special about watching this thing fold Annihilators like they're Sunday laundry.
Brood commanders and scout striders show up on the mini map as large enemies for some silly reason, so that's probably why they fall into the same logic as "Lock onto large targets". The fact that the Spear now tries to lock onto the TOP of spore spewers and shrieker nests instead of the base was a HUGE change for the better. I have amazed many a teammate by taking them out from 300 meters away with a single shot (seems to be the max distance now?).
@@EravinVT Dawg you don't even know. Until recently, I never even knew the Spear had ammo economy problems. Because I only ever got to fire maybe 4 per mission anyways.
Oh yeah, I take it with me on Bot missions for the fabs and bugs for the chargers and BTs. Everything else is just icing on the cake since I've practiced with it so much that I know almost all the angles instinctively for getting consistent 1-shots. Hulks charging me and Factory Striders are the only ones I still struggle with. Gonna need to practice those now that Eravin decided to give his 2 cents.
Just did my first full Spear game. It was a nuke nursery mission with it, both ems, stuns, and an mg sentry. Fewest kills in the match by 200, but I killed SO many chargers, titans, spore spewers, nests, and bug holes from like half the map away. My best kill was an almost point-blank spear shot vs a normal charger that missed, swung around, and blew up both me and the charger head.
I bring the Spear fairly regularly. It's best as an opener against heavy armor to allow the other team to use regular weapons to take down the heavies. Even just opening a BT gives the light weapons a shot to kill if we are low or out of other heavy weapons. By itself, the Spear is real niche, but used as a complimentary weapon it shines. You wont be getting the hundreds of kills each match but you allow the other members a chance to secure the BTs and Chargers instead of wasting more rockets on it.
Kinda, every other support being run can basically do the same. The claim to fame is the 1 shot kills which, can be done consistently with enough practice but, yeah just not recommendable for me with the ammo, reload speed, and backpack cost in bugs.
Tips for the spear (from a self proclaimed spear main): 1. Be Obi-Wan Kenobi, get the high ground! Makes lock on very easy as long as you have line of sight. 2. Do not commit your loadout to just dealing with heavies: It is fun to run Orbital Railcannon, Precision Strike and Eagle 110 with the Spear to get unparalleled anti heavy capabilities, but you'd get swarmed very easily without any support. Only do this when diving with friends. Remember, using the spear means you sacrifice all other utilities once no objectives remain and no heavies spawn in the intermissions. 3. Be flexible in the usage of the Spear: One shotting heavies may be fun and satisfying, but if you dont have the angle, think how would the spear fly and where will it hit. For example, hitting a titan on its sides will strip its armor, and you can target that weakpoint to bring it down faster than you force yourself to a one shot angle. 4. Make mental notes of the landscape. As mentioned, heavy jungle planets are not very viable due to the amount of trees. The same goes for sand planets with canyon layout as it limits the range of the spear severely, and you might as well use a Recoiless rifle. However, Bizzards, Sandstorms, and Mist doesnt affect it much. So fire away! Extra tip: Spear cant lock onto broadcast towers. Or at least i dont think so. Not that it needs a spear when you can just airburst a nade at it...
Imma add a bit of info for dealing with Chargers and Bile Titans. When it comes to Chargers, the easiest way to kill them is to let them rush you, pass you and then put just a bit of distance between the two of you. As they're turning around, you can safely lock on and fire once they face you head on. Also, don't aim lower, aim either dead centre of the reticle or slightly higher so that the impact angle is steeper - that way the missile is almost guaranteed to hit the weak spot correctly and result in a one shot. It's a very natural thing to do once you get the hang of it. Same logic applies to BTs - don't aim low, aim high enough so that your shot hits the dome more perpendicularly to it but still doesn't miss. And obviously, only shoot when the titan is facing you head on to avoid hitting the legs.
i bought this game for 2 friends. now that they have it, i txt in group txt, your videos. best hd2 tutorials. and ive watched every hd2 content creator. others i do enjoy, but yours are the most impactful when it comes to hard-hitting nerd science. breakdowns. only ones worth spamming my friends with.
Good to see this thing fixed up and with a nice mix of ups and downs to it. A while back, one of my regular squadmates made a habit of bringing it and despite it's finicky nature at the time, he brought a lot of value with surprising consistency.
The only mission that the Spear is really good is the Defend mission type. Especially vs Bugs, because how fast and easy is to 1-shot BIle Titans, since they come straight to the front gates of the base. But in all other missions, does not make sense choose Spear rather than the Autocannon vs Bots and choose Spear rather than a Flame Thrower vs bugs.
Eravin, 2 words: Automaton Bunkers. I believe you didn't mention them. It takes 2 rockets for 1 bunker. I have a clip where I destroy 2 bunkers with 4 rockets in 20 seconds. They don't even have enough range to fire back at you. Also, max lock-on range for the Spear is around 300m. This weapon also greatly synergises with the Emancipator Exosuit, cause tanks and turrets are it's weakspot. Thanks for the video.
12:59 ouch, as a laser rover main against bugs, this hurt me. That good boi and the distraction MG sentry have saved my ass so many times. They pick off the little guys chasing me so I can more effectively burn chargers or queso titans to death. But also yeah I get it, I’ve gotten kicked from at least 3 games from rover TKs.
Have you tried turning a bit? the rovers always seem to hover over your right shoulder and you can kind of juke them away from teammates running past. Though I always dive through the laser as it seems to avoid hitting me that way.
It’s been broken longer than it’s worked. So frustrating. I don’t bring certain support weapons due to this module not working since I don’t wanna be a resupply hog.
OG SPEAR enthusiast here. Ammo issues are solved by having ammo pack in the group. I also bring autocannon sentry and become mobile artillery. I'll go thru chargers and titans pretty quick with this.
I wish they had some sort of disposable lock-on launcher, that would be neat. I'll just stick to making beeping noises while firing off EATs. Good video, thanks homie.
I've used the spear for a long time now, and from that I've got to say, you're really underestimating its performance against bugs when you learn how to use it. The bile titan one-shot is pretty consistent when they are looking at you, but you can't just aim as low as possible like you said in the video. The best way to make it consistent is to manipulate the aim to hit the forehead. If you aim it too low, it is far more likely to crack the side armor instead of getting the head one-shot. Also, I'm not going to say this is the best option for dealing with chargers, but you can kill them from up close pretty consistently in a pinch. After they've done a charge or slammed against a wall, you get up next to them (about 3 ft away), crouch, and then shoot the spear to have it hit their face. It takes a bit of practice, but on charger seeds or when playing solo, it is actually pretty legit.
Nah, two different very low cd strats can 1hko bile titans for me without taking my support and backpack slot up. There are just better options against bugs which is what it comes down to. I can make it worth while on defense where it can 1hko titan after titan but other then that, it's just not worth it there.
Depends on your build I believe, I use SPEAR mostly when running mech. Taking down heavies to save up ammo from distante before engaging.. combine this with a rocket turret. Also, I use HMG emplacement with this build so it takes down most targets that SPEAR cant/wont do due to ammo economy. Thats how I believe its better to use it and I usually end up being the most kills/less death diver in the team, so I guess it works quite well. I got a google doc with functional builds that I test if you want to check :)
@@EravinVT By that logic, the only support weapon "worth it" on bugs is the flamethrower, since it is the best weapon for killing chargers/behemoths. Spear is perfectly usable against bugs as an alternative to 500 kg or precision strike, which frees up your stratagem slots for anything else you might want to take. It may not be the singular best meta build for bugs, but it is more than sufficient and pretty even with all the rocket launchers in terms of viability imo.
I've been running spear solo against bots, and it honestly makes for a really interesting build to support it. If the missile hits a tanks body it doesn't one shot it, just like missing a hulks face. Don't have to worry about turrets doing that since they don't have a body to hit. But I run it with the new orbital barrage to both finish targets I've already hit with the spear & make up for my missing chaff clear. Then if anything makes it out of that I use 110m pods, with their improved targetting they reliably clean up anything hit by the spear even with just the reduced damage AoE. These combined let me consistently only use one spear rocket per enemy I want to spear. Being solo lets you hog all the ammo to, and the reload honestly isn't bad (I think we're just too used to the 4sec recoilless reload, Spear's used to be fastest!) 4th stratagem is a power freebie, I've been running OPS, Rocket Sentry, or sometimes just EAT's for more rockets to shoot. Very fun, even if it's not the most meta. Lets you clear out the super annoying canon sentries without issue, but you will have to hell bomb the anti-aircraft & mortar emplacements if you don't want to use 110m eagles on them.
to note, the spear can also lock-on to exosuits, and used to lock-on to shriekers before the patch to fix the spear's targeting (which also added the ability to lock-on to eagle-1 before that capability was removed in the following patch). Also, the max lock-on range is approx. 300, which you can see when you try to shoot down distant gunships. Finally, my own thoughts. While the spear does arc up and over immediate terrain, the flight path doesn't feel very top-attack. It'd be a fun fire mode to have a top-attack mode that's best used against enemies at long range. Maybe it could have a sharper ascent angle and/or a longer delay before the guidance system takes effect, with a flat trajectory before diving into the target from almost directly above. Obviously the drawback would be that it can't be used at closer ranges (in the sense that the missile would either turn around and potentially hit the user or just fly away without engaging the guidance systems, just as the spear currently does if the target is too close), say at up to 50-100m or so, and the missile could possibly take slightly longer to reach the target than in direct-fire mode.
Any backpack weapon is often easier to call in a fresh drop if it has refreshed in your strategem list rather than hunt for supply packs. even if you leave the weapon and just grab the full backpack off the pod. This also saves on hogging supply drops that your teammates might also be in need of.
About the spear and dropships: while hitting the engine requires more luck than skill, you dont need to. Two spear missiles hitting the drop ship anywhere will take it down, sometimes even spectacularly breaking it in two. A two man anti-aircraft team with a spare launcher and backpack, with a supply pod at hand will make bot prospecting missions trivial as you can knock every dropship out of the air hundreds of meters from the mission area. Ships destroyed in mid flight like this always kills its occupants, unlike when shot dien ehile dropping troops
Just to add your commentary on the Spear... The Spear is also *great* at taking out bot Command Bunkers from long range. It can one-shot a Command Bunker from well outside of the range of their cannons. Also, the Spear can lock onto a target which you can't see due to environmental effects. I had a teammate mark a Command Bunker for me during a blizzard where I was too far away to see it myself. Using the mark the Spear took out the Command Bunker in one hit even though I couldn't see a thing other than his mark.
My friend and I destroyed an entire base that was on the other side of big river during a blizzard. We didnt even knew what we were shooting at it was awesome
The spear is apart of my main bot loadout now. It’s taking the place of the eruptor and it does a better job. I have to keep on top of ammo resupplies and scavenge any ammo I can find in mission. The pummeler, bushwacker, and impact incendiary grenades with the light gunner armor or the drone master armor are my go to with the spear.
For chargers, you can run up to their face and launch a missile right in there. I generally dive into them while locking on and launch it when i hit the ground. You do take dmg but only like 30% of your hp. Run medic armor and its not a problem. Plus you can run the new LSD stratagem to run away from the crowd
It is great in automaton missions, it takes out bases and bot factories from a safe distance. It doesn’t always take down drop ships but for gunships it is great.
I kinda want the spear to not lock on to any new enemy for about a week when they're introduced. Hive lord shows up. Spear, "nope. Not a valid target."
This weapon needs some love after the recoiless major buff recently. They should consider primarily giving it an alternate mode similar to the Commando, but slow to get there. Also, give a "hold R" to narrow the lock cone to a tiny one so you can be more selective. Especially now the Recoiless can one shot spawners and such with no weakpoint hit.
You can one tap chargers reliably with the spear if you get close to their head and aim downwards before shooting, you gotta be pretty close and i recommend bringing stuns to get this done
Spear in my experience has been invaluable when taking down shrieker nests and spore spewers. Clearing those without issue from miles away means no 'effin bats or noxious clouds. I'd expect to use something else against chargers and titans though. It's a bit unreliable for those. A well placed rocket sentry will do the job easily with minimal issues. Just bring along a primary to clear the mobs and you should be set.
For the spear on a titan you want to be it's target. At level or below the range in which a titan will stop to puke bile is the exact range you need to be. Aim as low as you can and wait until you hear the sound of the titan spit then release the missile and dive immediately. This has been 90% reliable since day 1 for me even having to deal with temperamental missiles
I'll never forget all the times we had to motivationally talk to our Spear to encourage it to lock-on - It's okay little spear, you'll get em next time
When fighting chargers, sometimes I like to lay on the ground and let it charge me, then fire it just as its about to hit me. So the spear hits it just as it exits the tube, really cool feeling when you pull it off
I used to want manual laser targeting for the Spear but they’ve since added the things I wanted to destroy so it’s now less desirable, but still desirable. As before, the Spear is a force to be reckoned with in the right hands, it’s a menace to all enemies of freedom so long as u can feed it.
Probably locks on to striders and brood commanders since they're big red dots. IIRC Spear just locks on to any enemy that is a big red dot on the map and therefore the game's interpretation of a strong enemy. I don't like the idea of enabling usage against small enemies but I like the idea of a mode via holding R that lets it be laser-guided like the incoming Commando. Can help solve issues with angled fire if done right perhaps. It's that or give us a way to cycle through limbs/parts of the enemy to lock-on to but that seems like it'd need to be done per enemy plus a way to enable such a command has to be done. So, let us guide our own missiles maybe?
its easier to get low angle by shooting while diving backwards giving you better 1 shot potential against chargers, titans and hulks and makes it possible to lock on at closer range. the spear has 3 angles to deal with chargers as it is able to 1shot trip charger legs. in group play the spear shines more with weapons like the AC since it also 1 shot armor strips sides giving AC an attack angle to kill titans, chargers and fact striders. in solo the spear shines in stealth builds and makes full clears almost a walk in the park due to it shooting outside of aggro range with scout passive. if you abuse the 30m curve angle you can 2 shot the neck of a factory strider from the front.
I’m so happy to have a spear user on my team. But I struggle with it because I’m so used to using my support weapon for everything so I’m just constantly out of ammo.
for chargers: you can also gamble and barrel stuff them, risky though. for titans: contrary to other AT weapons I've found great success waiting for the bile attack as the spear seems to connect more reliably with the top of its head then.
I wish the Spear had a LOS (line of sight) mode which was its alt fire direct without a lock. This would solve the 30m distance for correction and the outright miss on chargers that are...well...charging.
Actually you don't have to aim the reticle down. Just do what I do, when you're close lay down. So long as you're a decent distance away it'll headshot chargers
I've actually one-shot a Factory Strider with the spear, I just shot a missile from afar at about 150m away just because and it killed it in one hit. My ally who was closer said it hit it in the eye, probably not something you can do reliably as it's a very small target but it IS possible.
i believe that a change in an early update that nerfed knocking down dropships that they made automatons immune to their own cookoff explosions; i never see tanks hulks or factory strider detonations harming robots even ones standing on the corpse
Before the patching. It was very trying. But when you did get the sweet spot of the map. It did do work. Absolute unit with all the fixes. Just need a spear buddy and you're golden.
I think it's noteworthy that if you want to bring the emancipator exosuit to the bots the spear is an excellent pairing to it. It eliminates the only real threat to the suit with ease now. The only thing it requires you to do is to hop out when you see a tank turret. The tanks will not target the exo and will target you. Ps Great ending to the video
Actually never used the spear prior to it being fully functional. It’s a neat idea, and it’s glorious to have a near guaranteed kill for gunships. I’m not sure it’s my playstyle but glad it’s here.
I wonder how they should balance/improve buddy reloads? Maybe an indicator to more easily know who has ammo/a weapon for you to reoad and when you're only holding the ammo pack to get more ammo than carrying weapon and ammo. Also making the reload even a bit faster?
I love the Spear I'm too old and don't have patient to do trick shoots every 2 secounds. The fire and forget is for me. Manageing ammo economy is my favorite minigame anyways.
Honestly I've started getting to the point I just bring orbitals and eagles for consistency. Factory strider is definitely hardest to take out with any AT unless you hit it in just the right spot or you go through all your ammo and still use your eagles and orbitals anyway.
Since new hi-tech stuff usually riddled with bugs and Spear is the most advanced anti-tank weapon in Super Earth's arsenal, I'm not suprised that this things has many bug since its introduction
They need an auto loader stategem. Stationary loader (comes with 5-10 reloads itself) that'll ally reload you and provides you a small ammo boost for those low economy backpacks.
Spear just needs a lot more damage to justify its auto lock on (which can make targeting critical points difficult). It should always 1 shot chargers to the body, and 2 shot bile titans. The only time you can 1 shot either is when the stars align: they're facing you, you're at the right elevation
I think the buddy reload should be reworked too, you should be able to reload from your partners backpack instead of needing a backpack yourself, the downside being it's eating your ammo quickly and it still takes 2 to work 1 weapon. Just my thoughts
So glad my SPEAR is finally fixed! I personally found it still very reliable in solo helldive difficulty in bots utilizing stealth and its massive range im pretty comfortably full clearing deathless with it, my only complaint is pls arrowhead give me 1 extra missile at least!
Hopefully, they will implement a level-based targeting system for it someday. Targeting the highest of selected difficulty level enemies. It's inconsistent but predictable inconsistency.
demolishes titans is kinda hard to hit chargers with you have to make sure it’s still because it can miss easily but it can one shot behemoths something the regular anti tanks can’t breaker incendiary and grenade pistol and you have a decent bug strat and of course in bots it has a far bigger pool on enemies it can fight paired with the dominator for medium spam and below and it can be a deadly combo i wouldnt say its s tier by any means but you can make it work in a squad
The spear really should get a reliable 1 shot on hulks and chargers, considering how many spawn in higher difficulties and how few missiles you get. And how easy it is to take them out with other support weapons.
My brother brings the spear to both bugs and bots when we duo them on difficulty 6. He loves this thing. I bring the grenade launcher to bugs and heavy machine gun to bots.
5:42 Can we please make it so your buddies reload you out of your own backpack? I really love the idea of this mechanic and wanna help my team, but usually end up dying with the pack somewhere before they need it. If I could carry my whole setup, backpack and all, and still help my buddy reload without risking losing their ammo, I’d feel a lot better doing so.

The fact that the Spear now tries to lock onto the TOP of spore spewers and shrieker nests instead of the base was a HUGE change for the better. I have amazed many a teammate by taking them out from 300 meters away with a single shot (seems to be the max distance now?).
If you have stuck with the spear through thick and thin oh my God we are eating now!!
You have to set up some of your shots but when you're able to do so it's goated those one shots on BT's are unmatched
Spear Mains gotta be having the week of their lives
The Spear ain’t a spear no more, it’s an intercontinental ballistic missile
Tips for the spear (from a self proclaimed spear main):
As always, well thought out and helpful vid. Always love the Brasch bits at the end
Glad you like them! Thanks for watchin
Good to see this thing fixed up and with a nice mix of ups and downs to it. A while back, one of my regular squadmates made a habit of bringing it and despite it's finicky nature at the time, he brought a lot of value with surprising consistency.
"Failure to do so will result in the SPEAR crashing you-"
*windows error sound*
never gets old
The only mission that the Spear is really good is the Defend mission type. Especially vs Bugs, because how fast and easy is to 1-shot BIle Titans, since they come straight to the front gates of the base. But in all other missions, does not make sense choose Spear rather than the Autocannon vs Bots and choose Spear rather than a Flame Thrower vs bugs.
Eravin, 2 words:
Automaton Bunkers.
3:50 WTF did i miss?! The airburst has a heavy armor pen?
Maybe next patch they fix the support pod ship modules. Lol
It’s been broken longer than it’s worked. So frustrating. I don’t bring certain support weapons due to this module not working since I don’t wanna be a resupply hog.
I really hope so, it's a real downer only getting 2 missiles per supply
@@EravinVT yup. Going from 2 to 3 missiles in one pack is a 50% increase in effectiveness.
@@colin7231 Well hey, so was the Spear, but now that it's working...
Love the ending list of positives and negatives
OG SPEAR enthusiast here. Ammo issues are solved by having ammo pack in the group. I also bring autocannon sentry and become mobile artillery. I'll go thru chargers and titans pretty quick with this.
I wish they had some sort of disposable lock-on launcher, that would be neat. I'll just stick to making beeping noises while firing off EATs. Good video, thanks homie.
For the jungle maps have someone with the cluster to cut trees down. We dont have a daisy cutter fuel bombs yet.
that's a good idea lol
SPEAR can also removr those turrets/tanks on Automatons front so mech can do its thing without getting sniped😉
Spear just needs a reliable 1hk on hulks and drop ships. Then honestly I'm happy with it.
Also the max range of the spear is 302 meters
Eravin my man ! The only content creator that helps us get better. Keep up the good work.
Thanks will do! Thanks for watchin :D
I'd like to see the spear get a fire select mode that lets you choose whether it targets medium targets or not.
That'll be the Commando :D
For chargers, you can run up to their face and launch a missile right in there. I generally dive into them while locking on and launch it when i hit the ground. You do take dmg but only like 30% of your hp. Run medic armor and its not a problem. Plus you can run the new LSD stratagem to run away from the crowd
spear is awesome now. Hope they dont nerf.
Doubt they'll nerf it, It does one thing especially well compared to it's peers and has no ammo. Nothin broken about that
You never know as long as alexus still works there.
Been playing this weapon for 6 months. Love it. Best support weapon in my opinion.
I taught my friend how to use it and he's loving it ever since
It is great in automaton missions, it takes out bases and bot factories from a safe distance.
So cool that they added this brand-new weapon to the game. We were really missing a lock-on missile launcher before!
lol
Never heard of you, you deserve more subs and attention. Good job
4:12 S2 went flying😂
xD
Yeah the drop ships not killing their units anymore really destroyed my desire to ever send anything towards them
Before the patching. It was very trying. But when you did get the sweet spot of the map. It did do work.
Absolute unit with all the fixes. Just need a spear buddy and you're golden.
I love the run the spear, my friend loves to run the ammo pack. We are great friends
I bet haha
I think it's noteworthy that if you want to bring the emancipator exosuit to the bots the spear is an excellent pairing to it. It eliminates the only real threat to the suit with ease now. The only thing it requires you to do is to hop out when you see a tank turret. The tanks will not target the exo and will target you.
Ps Great ending to the video
I think the spear in a good spot it can do multiple thing but you have limited ammo so use it wisely
It can do so much but so little at the same time sadly xD
Actually never used the spear prior to it being fully functional. It’s a neat idea, and it’s glorious to have a near guaranteed kill for gunships. I’m not sure it’s my playstyle but glad it’s here.
I tried the Spear and love-hate hits the nail on the head
it could add to put enemy name when targeting from long range and the ability to cycle enemies while locked on, choosing which one to fire on.
All praise the Saint SPEAR.
praise be the Spear Weapon System
Flamethrower. I like my charger steak well done.
The spear used to spear my descent into madness
FR lol
As a Spear lover, thanks for this.
np thanks for watchin!
I fucking love this thing against bots, clearing out bases from across the map
very satisfying to do that
I think the buddy reload should be reworked too, you should be able to reload from your partners backpack instead of needing a backpack yourself, the downside being it's eating your ammo quickly and it still takes 2 to work 1 weapon. Just my thoughts
They should give first person mode the ability to manually lock-on to an enemy or surface so we can hit the weakpoints more consistently.
Its my new main in 4 man groups.
group play it fits well in any comp I'd say
I think you can also target command bunkers and kill them in two shots which makes the mission a breeze
Quasar can also do this but with infinite ammo, just takes 4 hits instead of 2
So glad my SPEAR is finally fixed!
It's inconsistent but predictable inconsistency.
demolishes titans is kinda hard to hit chargers with you have to make sure it’s still because it can miss easily but it can one shot behemoths something the regular anti tanks can’t breaker incendiary and grenade pistol and you have a decent bug strat and of course in bots it has a far bigger pool on enemies it can fight paired with the dominator for medium spam and below and it can be a deadly combo i wouldnt say its s tier by any means but you can make it work in a squad
oh and you need to have a duo with you running supply pack to make this at all a meta strat
you can hold the fire button to immediately fire when the reticle turns green.
Kind of want to try an Anti-Armour only Defense mission meme run:
Spear
EAT
Recoiless Rifle
Quasar
And probably Jar-5 and Grenade pistol with Stuns.
Titan spear angle calculation reminds me of Autocannon bot fab angles 😂
I feel like spear and grenades would get a big bump in use/usefulness if they would go back to HD1 supply call in being individual rather than shared.
Up right down down down cures my bug depression
same
5:42 Can we please make it so your buddies reload you out of your own backpack? I really love the idea of this mechanic and wanna help my team, but usually end up dying with the pack somewhere before they need it. If I could carry my whole setup, backpack and all, and still help my buddy reload without risking losing their ammo, I’d feel a lot better doing so.
