I was in school for woodworking for 3 years and then I was in the restaurant business for about another 3 so I worked a lot with my hands and wearing nailpolish wasn’t appropriate. I totally understand the chaotic energy, I’m feeling it too looool 😭 I’m definitely someone who benefits from routine, and when I get myself into the routine I feel like I’m thriving. But then eventually I either have an event planned, I get sick, I have a mental health moment or I get burnt out, and then I fall off the routine and get into a weird funk of feeling unable to transition back to my routine. Then I literally feel like I have to rebuild the routine all over again from scratch🙃 It honestly feels like climbing a huge mountain sometimes just trying to get myself back on track, and trying to get on track for some reason makes me dissociate a lot lol. So annoyinnngggg! Even if you feel like you’re falling behind, just know you’re doing so well Fern! Your content brings such a genuine audience and you’ve built such a comforting space on the internet. I hope the chaos passes and I hope you’re enjoying all the spring vibes! 💚💚💚
I know this may seem crazy to some... but i havent set an alarm to wake up in over 3 years. I just wake up between the times of 630-730am no matter what time I fall asleep and start my day. And honestly, ever since I decided not to wake up to an alarm, I've been having the best sleep, best mornings, and feel energized all day. And I used to be a hit the snooze type of girlie forever. I will probably never set an alarm to wake up ever again (unless maybe i have a super early plane to catch or something)

Fern, I know you didn't ask, but I think you should downsize or hold off on houseplants until you get your house to where you are comfortable. I feel like it would reduce some stress for you. You can always get them again & you could even sell some so you can use the cash for your garden project. I think the anxiety is due to not having the house "ready" enough for you. I have been watching you for years. You are a routine person and the "chaos" in your new home is where the issue is. You need more time to settle in it, and can take a while! It's okay.

For falling asleep I’m the same! Always have such a hard time turning my brain off, but I have been obsessed with the Nothing Much Happens podcast!! You HAVE to check it out!! I like to line up two or three in my queue and then set a sleep timer. So you don’t have to turn it off when you’re drifting to sleep 💗💜 hope this helps! It’s brain training so it just gets easier to fall asleep every time🎉

Even when I do a messy job, the polish that’s around the nail just washes off the next day 😃 other than that, just practice! I was rusty when I first started too.
Here the deer just jump over anything you put up to stop them lol… my neighbor has some of those yellow deer fences and we’ve witnessed the deer just hopping into his garden for snacks. I also noticed they ate all the branches off my little cherry blossom tree T^T I’ve put in some repellent (scent balls) to hopefully stop them from eating the new spring growth but we shall see if that helps.

Outdoor gardening is a work in progress. You definitely have cleared a lot, making it look tidy. Personally, I would keep the berry bushes, especially raspberries, for at least a year. Yes, rosehip oil is a liquid gold! Now I’m using prickly pear seed oil, and to be honest, I find oils working so much better with my skin than layers of toner, essence, serum and cream. The less the better I guess 🙃

I am a seasoned veggie gardener but Its a pain in the butt starting from seeds.. The only thing I have figured out is tomatoes.. so the other stuff I buy seedlings.. Kisses and extra hug for Cadence. I have stomache issues so I feel for her. Please don't be so hard on yourself. We are here for you and if I lived closer you would have to say "Petra go home" I hope you have people you can delegate or ask for help with things. Sometimes a good girl friend day does wonders. A sound machine is a great idea. Homedics makes a great one. I’ve used one for years. I got it when I moved into an apartment that was built with the bedrooms by the wooden sidewalk that went from apartment to apartment. And there was no air conditioner so we had to use window a/c. That just let all the noise in the window. I worked nights and slept days. So I needed the sound machine to block out all the noise of people walking and talking on those wooden walkways. I lived on the third floor and I could hear people on the second floor too. The sound machine works. I’ve had three of them in 25 years. I always get the same one cause it works for me. I just use the white noise. But my neighbor just uses a fan turned on high. Th at works too.
You know one of the other RUclipsrs I want bought some new raised beds that are long ovals made of metal. Doesn’t rot like wooden beds. They are really cute. She got one in regular steel and the second one was a pale green which was beautiful. A good color to grow greens in.
Omg those flowers are so cute! If you get another one please do share! You should get some floral foam and put it in the bottom of a pot and stick them in! I’m off to look for legos! 🌻🌻
If you ever need overalls that are a little more hardy, I highly recommend Dovetail Workwear. I work in the trades but ended up getting an extra pair of their overalls just for yard work because I love them so much. They run a little small though so size up if you want a more relaxed fit!

You can cut the berry bushes back in the fall to the biggest and strongest vines. They will grow back stronger. I mean you can cut them way back.

I built a lego Mini Spider-Man, vehicles and people, and it actually shot little disc and webs , when I got done. I was so Impressed with myself. 😂 I’ve been thinking of buying the LEGO succulent. 🌿💫

Outdoor gardening is a work in progress. You definitely have cleared a lot, making it look tidy. Personally, I would keep the berry bushes, especially raspberries, for at least a year. See how things go. Raspberries are so YUM!!!! Loved the lego sunflowers!!!! OMG!!! Love all those Mooncat Nail polish colours!!!

Yes, rosehip oil is a liquid gold! Now I’m using prickly pear seed oil, and to be honest, I find oils working so much better with my skin than layers of toner, essence, serum and cream. The less the better I guess 🙃

I am a seasoned veggie gardener but Its a pain in the butt starting from seeds.. The only thing I have figured out is tomatoes.. so the other stuff I buy seedlings.. Kisses and extra hug for Cadence. I have stomache issues so I feel for her. Please don't be so hard on yourself. We are here for you and if I lived closer you would have to say "Petra go home" I hope you have people you can delegate or ask for help with things. Sometimes a good girl friend day does wonders. My nails have been a mess lately and thats just what it is till gardening season is over. One thing at a time Fern.. Luv ya!
Beautiful Fern ❤ wait a month or two, and then buy a new pair of long overalls, when they are out of season, then they will probably be marked down 😅👌🏼 I always buy my clothes “out of season” and save money in that way… I for example will buy a new winter jacket soon, for half the normal price, so I have a new jacket next winter ❄️ 😊

My parents made like a trellis. And fixed the branches to them. If I had paper I’d draw a picture of them for you
A sound machine is a great idea. Homedics makes a great one. I’ve used one for years. I got it when I moved into an apartment that was built with the bedrooms by the wooden sidewalk that went from apartment to apartment. And there was no air conditioner so we had to use window a/c. That just let all the noise in the window. I worked nights and slept days. So I needed the sound machine to block out all the noise of people walking and talking on those wooden walkways. I lived on the third floor and I could hear people on the second floor too. The sound machine works. I’ve had three of them in 25 years. I always get the same one cause it works for me. I just use the white noise. But my neighbor just uses a fan turned on high. Th at works too.

You know one of the other RUclipsrs I want bought some new raised beds that are long ovals made of metal. Doesn’t rot like wooden beds. They are really cute. She got one in regular steel and the second one was a pale green which was beautiful. A good color to grow greens in.

If you ever need overalls that are a little more hardy, I highly recommend Dovetail Workwear. I work in the trades but ended up getting an extra pair of their overalls just for yard work because I love them so much. They run a little small though so size up if you want a more relaxed fit!
