I got my Hohem M6 today and was pleasantly surprised. Since I have an Android phone (Pixel 6 Pro) I assumed that I would not be able to film in 4K 60 fps, but...I CAN! There is also a specific "slow motion" option in the app that will allow me to film slow motion at 120 fps AND 240 fps. I thought that all of these options would be closed off to me as an Android user, but that was not the case!
I am BEYOND thrilled with this gimbal. I only just purchased a Zhiyun Smooth 5S a couple of months ago, so this was a bit of a "naughty" purchase for me; but after seeing what I can do with the Hohem, I have ZERO regrets about spending money on a second gimbal so soon.
This one is worth it. 👍

Be careful because I believe the Pixel pro is the only Android phone that gives access to the 4k 60fps option on gimbals. The Insta360 Flow has access to the Pixel Pro's 60 fps on their compatibility list but NO OTHER ANDROID PHONE does. I believe Its a problem with the phone manufacturers NOT Android OR the gimbal manufacturers.
@@DMSAdventures that is correct.... phone manufacturers don't give access to camera.. so gimbal developers cannot add those additional frame rates... it is the way it is. Many people don't understand it and get angry at gimbal manufacturers. This is one of the reasons I had to switch to iPhone as that system is compatible with everything.

Extremely informative to the point video. Well done! I watched other videos trying to decide if this was what I needed for my productions. None of the other videos mentioned the audio features that you covered. It was important for me to understand if the gimbal configuration allowed audio inputs to be impaled to the phone without disabling the gimbal and you answered the question for me. Although the rig has some features I am currently not using, it seemed to make sense to purchase the gimbal. And with the $40 and free shipping offer it was not much more expensive than a slimmed down model. I placed my order right after I watched your video. I am a new subscriber too!

I was hoping you would be one of the first to release intro after the M6 was released this morning (Canadian time). The new AI sensor answers a lot of the questions that the V2 raised about tracking from the main camera. I just bought an X2 for compact travel, but this seems like a good choice for a full-range gimbal at $210 USD.

Hi Zdenka - I LOVE your tutorials - I also love this gimbal - I just bought DJI osmo mobile 6 and I was ready to gift to my son until I found that this gimble wight one Kilogram more than the DJI - if one carries it during hiking it adds to the load not to mention handling it during recording.... but I need to know what do you think, Thanks!
Thank you for your support…. I like DJI but the longer I film the more freedom I need and unfortunately DJI has limits… it is good gimbal for fun. If you really want to film all the way…. More advanced all the way to pro then this is the solution right now….

Yes all Androids are the same with all gimbals. It is not possible to fully customize each android

Masterfulful video- composition, sound, first rate. What mic do you have attached? We use an insta 360 1 inch as a 3rd camera to film lionel model trains on our trainboard. The sound needs help on the 360 and on our s20 phone gimble. Our main cameras, use a rode video mic and deity mic ..too large.. Gary

How well do you think this will work with the Smallrig cage for Iphone? Also, would you mount a microphone similar to the way you would on the Smooth 5?

Good review. How is the phonebalancing handled with this? I have the iSteady X and it is rubbish with my ZTE and OnePlus phones, unusable as both phone's buttons are under pressure of the clips if setting the phone to be center of the gimbal. So calibration fails. Gimbal should have some counterbalancing option, extending rail or something, for phones with various button placements, so the phone can be installed onto the gimbal off-center.
I hear you… you have a very specific phone model which doesn’t have the standard design…. This gimbal you can balance off centre. There is a port where you could mount counterweight…, the same goes to DJI Osmo mobile 6. You can get counterweights for that one but make sure the whole set up is not more than 290g as that gimbal is not super strong .., Hohem can handle 400g set up

No unfortunately. Filmic pro is only compatible with DJI and select Zhiyun gimbals …. MC pro doesn’t support any gimbals
What would you recommend to save large files to an external source whilst shooting on an iPhone 15 Pro Max?
It depends how much space you have on your phone…. If you edit on computer it would be faster with the card when it comes to transferring them

Filmic Pro is not supporting this gimbal. There are only a few gimbals, which are working with that app.
I am curious if the tracking will follow objects. I would like to have it follow my RC truck. Thanks for the informative video.
There is object tracking in the app. You cannot do that with the AI sensor
Subbed and Just got mine in yesterday, In older software there is a timer option you can set to of, 3 sec or 5 sec for gestures, i am not able to start, stop video/ photo with the V gesture, i get the green squaire but it does'n"t work, did i miss something? also in the Hohem official tuturial to stop recording sighn (keep upor hand up) also stops the AI tracker.

In your opinion would you get this Hohem M6 gimbal or the Aochuan Smart S2? They both seem really good and equal to each other. I just bought the Aochuan Smart X Pro about 2 weeks ago and thinking about returning it for one of these gimbals. I am a beginner and it is my first gimbal but I don't want to have to upgrade later on so I figured I would just get something that has it all.

As usual an exceptional review by Zdenka (no big surprise there). Can anyone help me to get my REMOTE connected (paired)? I bought my Hohem M6 in China and can't read a word of Chinese. The Hohem M6 manual (online) does not mention anything about the remote) I'm an hour into trying to connect the remote but no joy. Other than that the gimble just blows away the competition on features and quality.

If you are happy with the gimbal you have, keep it. Otherwise this has bigger payload 400g

It would be a big step up but also bigger and heavier
I wish these gimbal companies would make something like this with an adaptor that you could use with your action camera or phone. Especially since this one has a remote. Otherwise you find yourself shooting some stuff with your action camera and some with your phone and having to merge the footage.

Phillip Skraba just showed the DJI A3 placing it horizontally onto the phone clamp with the AI/fill light on the left side (facing it) or on right side (looking out).

Just to add my thoughts; I am very new to the Gimbal craze , but the DJI Mobile 6 extension pole is what drew me to the DJI brand.
Regarding the follow-mode; are you able to say set what you want it to track and then get it to do that or does the tracking only follow if you give it the command too?

I unfortunately cannot see what is happening with your gimbal. Make sure you physically unlocked all motors. If there is a problem with the gimbal, please contact Hoham directly for customer support.

Will this work with the new Samsung S23 Ultra? And if so, will you be able to shoot video in 8K? It looked like the app only went to 4K?
Unfortunately, that is some thing I cannot answer as I don’t have that type of phone
I need to record the fencing competition. Both of the fencers are dressing white jackets, will this Gimbal keep tracking on one target even when another very similar target gets close?
I tried DJI Osmo. It will lose the target easily, but Osmo is way smaller and lighter.
AI tracking sensor is a dedicated camera for tracking so he’s not going to lose anything
Finally, a smartphone to rule them all. All kidding aside, I have two gimbals (Smooth 5 and Isteady V2) to do what this gimbal does. Further, it appears to do almost everything better than these two combined. Time to sell these gimbals and get this one.

Only appears to have one downfall; the lightning port for IPhones will be up against the gimbal. That takes away the simple use of an external mic.
@@Doc2705 The Smooth 5 has the same issue. Workaround should be similar with 90' lightning adapter. Not great, but workable.

Those are two completely different gimbals. This one is for advanced filming an Insta 360 is for every day stuff and social media filming.

No. You have to enable it by signals. There is a tracking in their app which you would use in that case
Thanks for excellent video. Any problems with the Ai sensor? Just got this today. And though the Ai was just one of the many attractions, I find it utterly unreliable. One in twenty times it recognises gestures. The rest of the time it sits there and does nothing. I’ve tried turning the Ai unit to work with front and reverse cameras, in bright indoors and outdoors, but still no luck. Will be sending it back tomorrow if I can’t get it working. Very disappointing as it otherwise seems very well made.

@@ZdenkaDarula I now see that tracking is after all working (after the V gesture in the Hohem Joy app) just not with any gestures in other apps or default (iPhone) camera. This seems to suggest it's a software rather than hardware issue but I guess I'll have to return it in any case. Thanks again for the reply.
@@ZdenkaDarula Thanks for the reassurance. Sent that unit back for a replacement and am delighted with the gimbal now. The Ai is a very nice touch but even without it the balance and stability are leaps and bounds ahead of anything I've tried before (DJI OM6, cough cough :)
