The fact that Onyx had the confidence to ask for help rather than trying to put the tractor and grain cart in a tight spot says volumes about his maturity. That young man will be an asset to the farm for a very long time!!!

Great video, a little bit of everybody. There is something about Jim that makes me want more of him. Smart Mechanic, great farm hand and has good humor and really funny when he gets upset ( like the time you two were stranded ) LMAO !!!
When you asked him if he was ready to run the grain cart again, after his practice, the look in his eyes were so serious. Must've been another proud dad moment.
Zack, never be embarrassed about expressing your pride in your son. What you are experiencing is the "why" we do what we do. At the core, God, FAMILY, Country!
At 11:18 min mark, that is the best shot, Onix driving the grain cart, Dad emptying the combine while Ailla watches. This when your throat fills up with your heart full of pride. :-)
Put a camera in the cab with Onex and lets hear the operation through the mind of a 10 year old. I'm 62 now and can still remember my first runs with the machinery. Those vidios will be precious for him for the rest of his life.
My son is my lead technician in our IT firm. He has been working for the company over 10 years and is 26 years old. I grew up in farm country and the idea of family working is part of my world. I'm really proud of your boy and I get why you are a proud poppa.
7:53 I'm from the city. Dad taught me to mow the lawn at 7-8 years old to my Mothers terror. However, he grew up farming in Iowa and was operating tractors at that age so it wasn't a big deal to him. He taught me how to do it safe and especially how to do it right. Soon after I spent my weekends for years mowing the entire block for 5 bucks each. Him entrusting me with the responsibility really helped shape who I am. I have a very strong work ethic compared to some of my millennial peers. Thanks Dad.

So happy to see your son show interest in running the equipment and helping out on the farm. I can only imagine how proud you must be to have him helping on the farm!! Thank you so much for sharing such moments in your personal life!

Hi, I am from India, never been to the USA, never been to a farm even in India, don’t know what I am doing on this channel. Strange thing is that I have been now watching it for the last one year, have never missed a single episode. I just love watching Zack work, putting in so much effort into not only farming but keeping his equipment always in top shape, doing almost everything on his own. And now the little Onyx getting ready. Congratulations and all the best for all your future endeavours.

Hi Zach, I'm a 5th generation farmer in NE Nebraska. My 23 year old son started farming with me this year. I know that feeling that you were having as you watch your son run the grain cart. I have had that same feeling watching my son and now also my daughter doing the same thing. It is a definite feeling of Pride to see that in the Next Generation. Good luck with the rest of harvest.
A lot of people don’t truly understand family history and heritage especially when it comes to farming. My family started a farm where I live in the early 1800s. Like yours it’s has gone through many puts and takes over the generations but these last 15 years have seen the worst. For the first time in over 150 yrs the land is no longer farmed by a family member. I have worked for nearly 15 yrs to secure my piece and with the help of very gracious friends and family members there is now once again family farming a small part of our ground with the intention that we build a future for the next generation. I for one understand 100%. It is something that the word grateful just doesn’t seem to describe. Farming is rewarding. Farming is hard. It is not a job, it’s a life. Love the videos. Stay safe.
Someone should let Mike Mitchell know where his X9 went. I’m barely a minute in and chuckling at the beginning of this vid. That’s awesome that your son is part of this, not to mention the history he can look back from your POV in these videos.
I know exactly how you feel. My oldest is 15 now and I remember the first time he drove tractors by himself like it was yesterday. My daughter also runs our cat 924G loader like a pro. Now my 7 year old boy started running the skid steer by himself on our dairy farm. These kids are 7th generation. I'm a very proud dad also!!
agree Mark and we always do the same and if you arent back after that and a certain amount of time you go and check on them ...people get tired at the end of the day and bad things can happen quickly
I think it's wonderful that you include your children in your channel. What is a farm without a family. Onyx seems to be taking to it very well. Great job being a farming Dad.
I'm shocked that your daughter is not out in the fields driving one of those machines. But, I would be proud as heII of your son. As I'm sure your are.
So awesome to see another generation in the tractor. Gives me great comfort to see some of the most important things haven't changed. Maybe he stays on the farm, and maybe he doesn't, but one thing is for sure: You'll never be able to take the farm out of him. Priceless.
Since your a farmer, you must have a combine! I love combines and I love watching them harvest corn or soy beans! Preferably corn! If anyone has a Case IH Combine and your going to be harvesting corn soon please send me some pictures! I love it!
You can see the strong bond that him and Onyx have when they pulled up by the driveway and Onyx asked him how long he’d be outside. Still laughed that you called him bud, gives off the hockey vibe.
When Deere pulled the 9X demo for @Mike Mitchell, the consensus was on that channel that it would show up at your place. That was a no brainier. But AGCO just dropped a new Ideal 10T for him to demo.
Just in time seeing he lost 1 to fire, there was several folks on Mike's Channel Salty because "It was going to Millennial Farmer, because he won't give a honest opinion on if the machine was any good or not due to his John Deere Association" looking forward to seeing what that X9 does. It's always cool to see the latest n greatest in machinery.
@Jason There isn’t much to complain about in new equipment. Zachs combines go through 1 15th of what Mikes do, so he’s obviously going to have more breakdowns. Zach also doesn’t run a brand new competitors machine like Mike does. Deere would rather give a guy who bleeds green and has a much larger following a new combine, than a guy who has something fairly new to compare to and is very honest about his issues. Mike bashed and found all kinds of issues with the Ideals. Agco came and fixed them. But Deere doesn’t want their reputation ruined and have to cover it up.
It's not "p**sy crap" as you said. You are a very proud Dad and you have a wonderful son. I pray that your farm continues way into the future. You're a good man brother!
The fact that Onyx had the confidence to ask for help rather than trying to put the tractor and grain cart in a tight spot says volumes about his maturity. That young man will be an asset to the farm for a very long time!!!

2:23 ..... which is opposite from me, when I’m loaded down with beans, my hopper bottom always opens up real easy... 😂
Trust and responsibility are mutually inclusive. Good job sir. Good job.
@GamerKat'71 Remember the Claas? The little footage on it?
Never really said in the videos that they had tons of trouble with it.
Jackson is thriving just as well today! Great community awesome people!
greatvideo, you brought a tear to my eyes when talking about your son working with you. very cool..
It's not "p**sy crap" as you said. You are a very proud Dad and you have a wonderful son. I pray that your farm continues way into the future. You're a good man brother!
