No, the fireworks were not going to stop him, he just wanted to see where he was going to commit suicide, and then go for nishimiya but she made him think about living. He was just imagining his suicide.

You look at the yellow sky and see birds flying. You hear cars passing by and the sound of waves. Everything around you is alive. So why don't you feel alive aswell.

kind of like trying to place a fuzzy memory or a distant thought/idea. maybe there’s a whole gap in your life that you’re trying to fill, but end up returning to the same confused, blank mindset as before. maybe there’s someone you’re missing from these memories, someone you forgot.

The tone of this song. It's so calm, but it's so scary. It seems so fast and upbeat, tricking you into a false sense of security. It's so out of tune, so unorganized. Kind of like the mind of someone who is planning to kill themself, don't you think?

Shoya jumps into a river with his friends when he's little, he thinks about committing suicide off a bridge, he gets suspended for jumping into a river, and even when he saves Shoko, he still falls into the water.

I reversed this and its somewhat the same. Its more clear and it I am not sure if they did that on purpose but it sounds like bell sounds a car makes or the sounds that the rails make when train is coming. But I doubt that they actually reversed it. Anyways other soundtracks also have this foggy noise of some sort like its not clear which... is actually symbolic to the characters and hits home for the theme of miscommunication

I can’t explain the feelings I get listening to this. It’s just... surreal.
The drifting anxiety of realizing its the day someone is peacefully organizing their life in order to cleanly end it.
