Arthur has been one of the few characters in any video game that actually felt so human.

By the way, the epilogue will serve as a great consolation for what has just happened, it is a nice tribute to those of us who played rdr1, and at the same time it is an ending that leaves you very satisfied.

Kind of.Most people can understand him fighting between the good and bad side of him.But at the end of the day Arthur was a scumbag person that murdered and destroyed peoples lives for his own personal gain.Just because he was charismatic and occasionally did nice things doesn’t excuse any of his horrific actions.Point is,if you knew someone like Arthur in real life, you’d stay as far away from him as possible and you damn sure wouldn’t shed a tear if he died.

@@BrooklynBalla I agree, he was the only most sympathetic out of the group. Then John becomes even more sympathetic in a way in the epilogue and even more in rdr1. Either way arthur is my 1st favorite then John and Dutch as 3rd. I love the entire story between all of them also Jack's redemption was also pretty nice

But for those of us fans who have played RDR 1, the epilogue is a giant love letter, since we get to play as John again and we get to see the events that lead us into that first game.

I’ve stopped playing for the first time during the campaign after this. Fort a week maybe. I don’t know.
This game is a masterclass in immersion.
Arthur wins you in 10 seconds.
You playing as him is like a godly way to root for him. And you feel like you are in control of that. You die, try again.
Arthur is there. But when that control is taken away from you, and you are back to real life. Where you in fact have no turning back on events. No save point.
That breaks you really hard if you feel like I’ve just described. It’s a true grief.
Is cool how games give us the opportunity to see a life time of a possible person on a given universe. And also can teach us how to understand the inevitability of death.

I had to pause too at the start of the Marston section and go collect myself in a bathroom too.. then got back and decided "Nope, can't" and continued the next day.
This game and Last of Us 2 are the only games that have made me so much emotions that I've had to deal with stuff for a while, almost like with real events. (I know the latter is very divisive, so won't state any more opinions on the game or it runs a risk of becoming another argument, but I am happy about games daring to cause such strong emotions [and in TLoU2's case; deliberately making the player feel hate towards an aspect of the game] and I hope we get varying degrees of that in the future as well)

and try to be better....he is a good man

I’m honestly so glad mine was a blind play through. I knew nothing of the first game so moments like John’s death and his return were so unexpected and real to me, also being able to see Dutch turn from a good man to who he becomes in RDR1 was such a shock and surreal being able to see it unravel before me. Now I’ve just finished RDR1 and it’s become my favourite gaming series of all time. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the events of either game in my lifetime, especially the ending of Arthur’s story. Unforgettable….

I'm guessing you got the Empress Ciri ending based off of your comment since it's the more sadder one of the good endings, unless god forbid you got the bad ending on your first playthrough. At least Witcher 3 had the B&W dlc to follow up with the main story, really wished that RD2 got single player dlc too but sadly the devs seem to be more interested in putting more attention on their "monetized online content" (which just boils down to GTA Online since they've been mostly neglectful towards RD2 Online from what I've heard) for profit than they do about expanding their single player experiences.

Thank you. This is the only video i saw on your channel so far, i'm going to be honest about it. It showed up in the suggested videos. Of course it did, there is something about this game and this part especially that i keep going back to so i've watched many clips of people playing through this same game section, crying their hearts out. Your video had to come up at some point. I'm almost 47 years old, i've been playing videogames since the commodore 64 era. This game was the most true and beautiful thing i have ever experienced when it comes to videogames. I'm greatful for it, from the deepest of my heart. And yes, this part is heartbreaking, i went through very similar emotions you went through in the same intensity. I cried my soul out (the death of the horse might be the only difference. Yes, it is sad, of course, but it never got to me too bad in over 10 playthroughs of this unique experience) and i'm greatful for it. It's heartbreaking to see someone going through the same emotions i went through, but at the same time i'm so greatful to see other people's suffering thanks to this epic tale. Thanks to Arthur. You were still crying when the story continued with John, Abigail and Jack. As much as i did. It's as if we both needed more mourning time. And i can find proof in it, you didn't realize what was being said by John and Jack just as i didn't in my first playthrough: John asks Jack what the name of the king of the round table was and Jack replies "King Arthur". It seems that went over your head just as much as it did to me during my first playthrough. I'm thankfull for your honesty, for sharing this with us. Yes, it is heartbfeaking. But at the same time i mostly feel gratitude to have the chance to share these emotions with other people, all over the world. Arthur will always live forever in our hearts. Like a real person we learnt to get to know. Again, thank you. It's been a holesome delight seeing what you went through. I know exactly how you felt and how you still feel.

This is what it means to be human. The one who sheds so many tears on a stage of a play is a human being with a heart and conscience. You even made me cry. You are an emotional human being. I hope you always stay like this. It is very difficult to be human, but you are truly human.
