This was wedding song!!! My husband passed away from Lou Garrick's disease at a very young age . He was 48 and we were married for 6 years. It reminds me of my husband's goodness and his love for music. He was my favorite person. And I love him so much. It reminds me of our wedding day. It alone reminds me of just how wonderful our lives were. Don't get me wrong we lived paycheck to paycheck. But I wouldn't trade that in for anything. So, with tears in my eyes, I just had to comment on how beautiful this song is and how beautifully you sing it. This is, by far, my favorite memory!!! Thank you so much. ❤️🤟
50 isn't even that old in today's world. My grandpa died at 82 after a triple bypass heart surgery in his 60's and had 3 different kinds of cancer. Even if you don't take care of yourself you can easily live till you're in your 70's. I agree that life does go by fast, but with modern medicine you can live well into your 70's+.
Will forever be the song I sang outside my neighbors balcony window that i threw pebbles at when i was 14 and loved Dawson's Creek. Adolescence is amazing when you embrace the possibilities of tv to life. Ill never regret doing that. At that moment in life i loved her.
One of my wife's favorite songs. 27 years later we are still traveling through life with this song. I try to live this song for her everyday as she does for me. This song wets my eyes. Till death do we part. Incredible song
So precious...a love like you and your wife share is so rare...you are both blessed! Enjoy your life together...may you have 100 more years filled with love and joy. God bless you both! ❤🥰🙏✝️🙏🥰❤
when i was 19, i met a lovely boy on holiday in Greece, when we returned home we text and called and he emailed this song to me oneday.. eventually we lost touch when we both went off to University.. im 36 now and i still think back to that time whenever i hear this song, which isn't often at all, but still 🧡
A 53 year old guy who loves classic rock and old metal. But this song is legendary among love songs. You could say it stops me and steals my breath. Amazing.
We saw him 3 times, last time was in Arizona, it was a NEW Bar. They had only fans going and no beer. His Saxophone guy quit after that. Edwin sung his heart ❤️ out that night!!!
I attended his anniversary concert in Greenville SC (his and my home town) almost two years ago. I went with a girl I dated for quite a while. This was kinda our song. A year after she ended things, I’m still not over her, and I’m still not ready to let it go. If you’re reading this, I miss you and I think of you every day, I’m here if you ever come back.
IMAGINE you are at this moment, while you and the love of your life is dancing slowly and EDWIN McCain is singing to this song live. IMAGINE HOW WONDERFUL IS THAT!
First time I ever heard this on the radio when I was a child, I fell in love and since then, it became my favorite song until now. I may like a lot of songs but this will be the first in my heart always and forever.
Yeah, I agree I heard this song during my childhood. It's immortal I can feel it running on my viens. One thing for sure its a good music and endless romance.
Geez, that's what I get for reading the comments. My son, Blake, was killed in a car wreck on April 28, 2020. He was only 18. The lyric, "I'll be better when I'm older" speaks, to me, of my failures as a father. I've heard it said that it's never too late to change, and I suppose that's true. But if one waits too long to change, it can be too late to make a difference in someone's life. I miss you Blake, and I'm so so sorry....
Oohhh that's a damn sad fate, sir. I am so sorry for your loss. I know words are not enough to console the pain it caused. Much more if you weren't able to say the words that you should've said when he was still there. I damn well know that feeling, 'cause in my circumstance, I am the son who lost his father :'(
I've been watching Edwin most of his career. I feel in love with this song the moment I heard it and the video as well. He has always had such a passion in his face when singing. Being an actress and singer I get it. You pour your heart out into your music. This song will go down with so many folks for the rest of their lives as one that either passes as a love song or got them threw something. Mine is pretty personal but when this song came out.....well I had a bit of a crush going on Edwin. I was married to a horrible man that treated me like dirt. the abuse was bad enough to make me want to leave this world behind. I needed someone to tell me they were there for me. I'd had a horrible childhood that taught me I had no worth and felt no one was much of a fan. As I've grown older and been threw more this song has given me something to cling to. I'll be better when I'm older. I'll Be, is about to become a tattoo. I've waited a long time to decide what I wanted but this is it. I already have a few but wanted one more. When I see it I will remember the passion in Edwin's face (not trying to be creepy here) and I'll repeat to myself, I'll be better, I'll be stronger, I'll be more compassionate, I'll be more forgiving, I'll be better to myself, I'll be there for others, I'll be better today than I was yesterday, I'll be discovered one day, I'll be an inspiration, I'll be who I was intended to be, I'll be free, I'll be me........And I guess I'll always be that young girl who got to see a passion in someone's face I didn't know singing to me that I had, "The greatest fan of my life".It gave me a reason to keep living...... I'll Be, here tomorrow. Thank you, Edwin, for "being" you and doing what you did with passion.
Thank you so much for sharing your story! If you need someone to talk to, I’m here. Have you ever posted any videos of yourself? I would love to hear you sing!
When i was a teenager i listen to Nu Metal songs but when i age 24 i started to like old music, songs that i hear when i was a kid..I realize that old music is more gold more meaningful and music that feels like memories goes along with it that cannot be found in todays new generation music.☺️
This was an amazing evening at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach SC!! I have been blessed to see Edwin play probably over 20 times. His music is absolutely incredible, some of the notes he holds are unthinkable!!!!!!! He is such a nice guy and his stories are hysterical!!!! He was very gracious to sign a couple of my guitars and take pictures after the shows! Make sure you see him if you get a chance!!!!
I've had the chance to see him live at the Free Bird in Jax Beach Florida. I will never forget this moment when we shook hands. Great musician, great singer great music, great guy.
Just fantastic! I wondered if this was a song that he could do well live. This is better than I hoped, they spared no expense with the backup band, a beautiful rendition, even the crowd was awesome!
I know you're out there, if you happen to see this just know I'm thinking of you and remember that I've never let go. I always wanted this to be our wedding song but I'm doing my best to accept that we were never meant to be.
It's the year 2020 and I literally just discovered this song. And man. How big the world is. Hidden good music all it takes is an open mind and really connecting to yourself. Love this song.

This song was just played on Roswell the show , and I sent it to my husband of 23 years and it brought him to tears, bc after that long we both feel this way about each other . Thank you for this song bc it has made a difference in our lives and it will until the day we die, and believe me I’m sharing it , and every one I’ve shared it with feels the same
The era when there is no cameras but only people enjoying the moment
Ok chill. I enjoy not taking lots of pics and vids but I’m glad for the view I get.
Can I have a sweet dance with you with this song playing?
You have a good music taste if you're still listening to this song.
I've been depressed and this song here is making me feel better 🌺❤😔❤🌺

Yeah that was really smooth playing!! suits the show really good!
His phrasing is fantastic and heartfelt, especially towards the end.

And he just keeps getting better. If you have the opportunity to see Edwin McCain in concert, don't let it pass you by.
2021 - he recently came home to Greenville for his annual show. Fantastic.
Would so love to do that...sadly he never comes to San Diego...sigh...😥💔😥💔

Edwin is one of the most genuine and authentic not only musicians but people. He dedicates his existence to music and it shows.
You can see how my fellow fans jammed from the heart.. I was in college when I heard this song. So much memories coming back .. all the best
What a voice! And wow, 5:59 when the audience sings the chorus. They sounded great!

In every live performance of this song, I always look for that soothing sound of the saxophone. Damn smooth as silk.
If you get a chance to see him talk about the inspiration for this song ... Watch it. "Napkin, pen!"
I found it! Look up the performance of this song in the Bing lounge. You will get to hear the story behind the song.
Already had goosebumps from the moment he sang "The strands in your eyes...". Wonderful song, amazing singer.
I've never to forgot, previous Christmas party kinanta ko toh. Nakaka proud. God bless 🙏
Technically competent artists may be able to "cover" this song, but they will never OWN this song like he does. Period.
I've had the chance to see him live at the Free Bird in Jax Beach Florida. I will never forget this moment when we shook hands. Great musician, great singer great music, great guy.
This song was soo special to me when i was younger. Still bring tears to my eyes now.

October 2024 hits hard for me since I lost my son. This is the only escape I have. Anyone who lost someone and dedicated this song to them?
When I saw Edwin McCain in West Palm Beach in 1998, we also sang along and swayed along with this song. It was immensely enjoyable.
I used to be a crying shoulder. And time goes by, I'm the one left alone in this messy World 👽
