i am confused by the county tax estimater. my house value when up but according to the estimator my taxes will go down. I checked the homes that sold in my area and they went up a lot and shouldn't have but they did. so i expected my taxes to go up. i am in Euclid and my sister in law just a few streets away, her value when even higher her house and lot are smaller than mine. plus the estimator says her taxes will go up. this makes no sense. who ever figured out the increases needs to questioned. a drive by evaluation is not any where near accurate.

Zillow values my house at about $250K. Cuyahoga County values it at $194K. In six years, it went up $25K. That is about 3% per year. That is not outrageous at all.
I agree. My estimate came and it was way under market value. I was shocked.
You got lucky, a homeowner posted her letter, and her valuation went from 203K to 410K, with almost $4K jump in taxes.

What a shame..I was planning to move BACK to Ohio…Cuyahoga County in particular to be close to family. The property taxes will EXCEED my property taxes here in central Florida….might as well stay here and also avoid the State Income Tax as well…

@@msl7863 Landlords exploit people for a basic human need. They live off the labor of their tenants and not their own hard work. Maybe if they got a job and worked for a living they would understand the difference.
You also forget that increased property taxes on rentals and apartment buildings causes your rent to go up. So boohoo to you too. It affects renters too. You really think landlords just soak up increased taxes without raising your rent?
