This is because Walmart is not unionized. I work at Kroger getting 18 an hour, and the union is about to renegotiate here so we can get a 10% pay raise like they did in Houston. That would put me knocking on 20 an hour just for stocking at a grocery store.
I think we're around the same age, I'm 31 and just got a front end job for a few days, already stressed. I have always worked office jobs, last retail\food job was Dunkin Donuts back in 2011. I only work here part time, I own a home but trying to lower my debt as fast as possible.
