Even when Dio was going through his Chemotherapy, in 2009, he loved his fans so much, he put out another metal albulm. 50 years of music. 1958 to 2009. The true godfather of METAL.
Show her some Dio from the Rainbow days. "Mistreated" or "Catch the Rainbow" from the 1977 Munich concert footage would be great. She can learn about Ritchie Blackmore as well. - and of course "Stargazer" (Studio)
Dio, in a documentary, said that when he was a child, his grandmother did the now iconic HORN sign. It's called the MALOIK. Warning off the evil eye, or to give the evil eye.
There is a 'figure in Black' lyric from the song Black Sabbath. "What is this that stands before me? Figure in black which points at me Turn around quick, and start to run Find out I'm the chosen one Oh no" Now that you mentioned Holy Diver, why don't you play it for her?
Like your channel. Long time Zeppelin, Sabbath and Maiden fan here. Have Macy listen to the Studio version. If you haven't already. Dio always seems to butcher this song live. Meaning adlib's and added transitions. Don't get me wtong it's still great it's just the studio version is more angelic and glorious sounding especially in headphones
Cool but this is why when someone listens to a song for the first time, you should always use the studio version. Dio didn't sing this song much as much as he talked his way through it, and the guitar sound was muddy here. Also, the director decided not to show Iommi for the whole song basically.
I must disagree. I prefer Dio vastly over Ozzy, and I prefer his version of Ozzy's songs. And that line is not from Holy diver. He says "There's a big black shape looking up at me". Look through the holy diver, it's not a line from the song.

I was lucky enough to see them on this tour. Video cannot really get across the sheer power that Tony and Geezer bring.

Side note, this live show had Vinny Appice instead of Bill Ward.
Other Black Sabbath (Dio) songs I would recommend..."I", "Sign of the Southern Cross", "Lonely is the Word", "Children of the Sea", "Voodoo"

Excellent point about the song, and even better suggestion for the reaction. Look for it in the next week or two! :)

Ronnie was a far better writer too. Ozzy is not a vocalist, he's a frontman. Ronnie was both.
