  • For all my elevator viewers out there, I have an alarm video that you may find interesting! I never thought I would somehow bring Elevators into one of my alarm related videos. Why? This is not only something that would tie into the fire alarm system, but this is something that relates to elevators as well. Therefore, I consider this video not only to be fire alarm related, but also elevator related. As such, I also consider this to be an elevator part as well. Additionally, it's my first video of solely an alarm accessory, not necessarily a notification appliance like I usually do. I would be more than happy to make more videos of fire alarms and fire alarm accessories (If you get the reference, I congratulate you).
The concept is quite simple; if the light is activated, it is simply informing users not to use the elevator. Most likely, this would tie into the fire alarm system, and would blink if the system has been activated. A few elevators I have seen videos of utilize this concept, but with a light mounted right onto the control panel. Most likely, that would activate with the alarm system.
This is the Artron Products LED-LE-EL1. Upon performing searches for the device, I come up with my unboxing video that I did a few years ago. I do not know anything about Artron Products, such as what other products they offer.
Still, this is another cool device in my collection; not only another integral part of my fire alarm collection, but one of my only elevator related items as well.
If you want to see me take a look at the device, feel free to watch the video. To see me turn on the device, skip to 2:00.
    DISCLAIMER:
1: It is a FELONY to pull a fire alarm in public to falsely report a fire (i.e. "Just for fun"). A fire alarm in a public building should only be pulled if there is actually a fire or other emergency. However, this is being activated in a controlled and legal environment, an enthusiast's test setup. No fire departments were called when activating the alarm.
2: This video contains flashing lights from a strobe. Those prone to seizures from flashing lights SHOULD NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO.
I AM NOT responsible for any legal damages done for pulling a false alarm, or for any seizures. These are your decisions, not mine!

I've never seen anything like this in person, from any brand. Was the device you saw this particular one? Glad you liked this device!

Yeah. I saw a few in a big giant hotel in Reno. They were part of a massive voice evac system.

I live in New England and I haven't once seen one of those lights.
Also, you should make an alarm system with this light in it.

this is my first time seeing one of these.

I have not seen any of these in person, as a matter of fact, any elevator related light. They are cool, not sure why most people don't use these; they are pretty useful to alert people not to use an elevator in a fire.

It really is a cool device; never seen one in person, but still cool. I figured it would be nice to mix things up a little with simply an accessory, not just another notification device. The best part is that this is elevator and alarm related; never thought I would somehow tie those two together, besides showing an alarm device in a hallway while filming an elevator.
I may consider more videos of accessories like this in the future, may not be as interesting as this, though.

Glad to see you enjoyed this device. I thought making a video on this would be different than the usual notification device. I may consider doing more stuff on various accessories in the future, although they may not be as interesting as this.

Yea, same concept with it being tied in with elevators. it's a very confusing idea, it's like the elevator will only recall if a detector near the elevator trips, otherwise the light doesn't illuminate.

My original guess for this device would be that it would be wired into the system, and if it activated, the light would blink. This would be any elevator in a building, not any in particular that got recalled (you're not supposed to use the elevators at all). Your guess may be valid as well.

These seem to be an uncommon accessory for elevators.

I haven't seen any in an elevator setup yet. I wonder why not many elevator systems use it, it's a BRILLIANT idea.

supposedly, it works like if it was a strobe

    • @NewEnglandElevators
      @NewEnglandElevators  8 лет назад

Not exactly bright enough to be a strobe for ADA standards, still some sort of visual notification if you want to think about it that way. Almost reminiscent of the older blinking light devices (AV32, V33, 4050-80, 2903, etc), simply with an LED.

This is pretty interesting. I honestly can't say I've ever seen one of these before. (Although I'm not much of an elevator person either). You should check out my videos! I have tons of devices and more on the way (my entire collection is in the 'about me' tab). All of that aside though, great video!

I'm an elevator person, and have not seen anything like this before, not just from this brand. I subbed to you, and hope to see more good videos from you in the future; you seem to have a nice collection (thanks for featuring me on your channel, btw). I am happy to know that I made a great video for you to enjoy.

Your welcome! I just got some new stuff so I should have a video out Saturday afternoon. I have been really busy, as well as having lots of schoolwork this week, but I'm planning to get a few videos out this weekend.
