Also she got scores 7 and above. If she was to score anything higher than what she gave... the others most likely would not have been worth above 5 (judging by the other ladies scores).

My mum said it’s always the fish! And she’s right! My Mum’s Ota is bomb but always make sure there’s consistency in all ingredients added with the Ota as well.

Raw fish, yummy!😍 we all have our own preference. The one with pomegranite seemed interesting. I like mine done with fresh cream, with a perfect balance of lemon and salt😋
same fresh cream is better IMO - i can't eat the ones in coconut cream - it drowns out the other flavors, imho

Rawfish or poisson cru, ika mata is delicacy from the Cook Islands and Tahiti dating back to the arrival of christianity traditionally was eaten as fish with coconut sauce but locals added vegetables with rice to feed missionaries and the concept came to new Zealand in the 1940s when cook island and niueans arrived in new Zealand, know your Pacific history
wtf All islands ate raw fish with coconut cream but I think your right about the vegetables being added to it later and everyone copying it
@@leont5096 lower atolls of french polynesia and cook islands Lacked the vegetation but trade with there main islands included vegetables plus they needed to feed the missionaries majority of missionaries were european most from other Pacific Islands adopted the new concepts now it has spread through out the Pacific but evidence in tahiti is still there it's sold everywhere and many forms of raw fish are made

It should be based on the freshness of the fish and what you have on hand that you can incorporate into the oka i'a other than coconut milk and onions. My advice to the Samoan people, please aua le fa'aka'ika'i i amio a isi akunu'u.

Brown onion, Red onion and finely chopped shallots, half cream and half coconut cream, chopped tomatoes and cucumber, cut whole lemon into quarters, squeeze in lime juice. Best to use fresh Tuna and Limu(sea grapes) easy on salt and chilli. Real Samoan oka.

Very entertaining. Only thing that ruined it for me was the shirtless Chippendale waiter. What was the point of that? Its 2021, and we are still allowing this sort of behavior? Can you imagine the uproar if it was a PI males taste testing panel and they were served by a skimpy dressed hula girl in a bikini? Would not go down well id imagine.. Oh, dont tell me its all "harmless fun", when im sure the bikini girl would be deemed "sexist". You cannot have it one way or the other. Everybody deals with body image issues and insecurities and seeing something like this only reinforces outdated body image stereotypes. Please be mindful of these concerns for future episodes.
