Love this song. They were very deep into their addictions at this point. I think I remember reading a good deal of the recording budget went into their veins and up their noses. However, the song writing, lyrics, and musicianship was on point. Definitely prefer the original though
Christ nope this is NOT the worst album by far! I’ve adored them since 1987…..I’m 52….I’ve met them 3x….the 80S what a time to be a teen and young adult…..! This album has my very favorite Megadeth song.
The Peace Sells album was a fantastic sounding record, but the production team that did the Peace Sells record was fired halfway through recording this album and a new team was brought in to complete the recording. That's why the sound is so different from the last album (and inferior). It was chaos in the mixing room
First song Dave wrote on the bus ride home after Metallica kicked him out, crazy how it didnt come out until the 3rd album! They were playing this live in the beginning of Megadeth, back when Kerry King from Slayer was their guitarist for a few gigs. By his own admission, Kerry couldnt keep up with Dave and thought he was nuts 😂🤘
@KingOfThePitTV There's a couple of videos of them opening with the original version of Set the world afire with Kerry playing, if you search 'Megadeth Berkeley 84' the whole gig is on there, but the sound quality is pretty poor because of the age and video recording, but if there's one thing you notice it's that Megadeth used to play everything even faster live than on the recordings lol, I highly suggest running through the albums in order as the early albums are rough and raw sounding, and where possible ALWAYS find the original versions of the tracks as the remastered versions are notoriously iffy and lack that 80's rough sound, if you want mental drumming and riffing definitely listen to the track 'Rattlehead' from the first album, half the band were Jazz fusion musicians for the first 2 albums which gave them a very unique sound 🤘
I love this whole album. The first six by Megadeth, the first five ( more like four) by Metallica, Pantera from Cowboy on, are all perfect albums, in my opinion. I can name others from metal and other genres, but this, to me, is greatness. Also, the original is superior. 🤷♂️
