Good afternoon guys, both Kat and I are keen anglers too, truth be told we haven't dusted the rods off in a long time! 🎣🎣 you guys had one heck of a haul, great to see! Some good looking fights too ! The shrimp were massive wow! Great footage, camera work and editing a fun watch, thanks for sharing your trip ☕👍🎣🤗❤🛥
Thank you Kat and Ceri! Sorry we are a bit slow in replying, but we were out on our boat get more material! Really appreciate your support, and hope that you can get out for some fishing too!
Great job on your catches. That was quite the catch of many large fish. The shrimp looked great too. It was fun to see the traps and how they are caught. They were really big too. Awesome. The grilled fish looked amazing! Have a great day.
Thanks, Steve. It was great to have fresh fish and shrimp, and we sent a lot back with the kids. It's always fun to see what will come up in the shrimp traps.
aww such a lot of big fish u caught and the shrimp aww so good to cook a grilled fish and shrimp, such a wonderful day out fishing thanks for sharing, God bless
Beautiful scenery, awesome fishing and fun times with your family. Very cool seeing how you catch shrimp! The grill on the boat is amazing - nothing like a fresh grilled meal. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Family Trip!! Look at the color of that water! It initially looked like toy boats to me. lol Now THAT is some fresh fish right there! So fun! Thanks for sharing!
Those are some big fish! I love fishing! Thanks for the cooking tips! My dad loves salmon and I’ll be sure to pass those cooking tips along to him! Great video!!
Wow!! Great day fishing and shrimping!!! Looks like y'all will be feasting for a long time :-) Love salmon and halibut, had halibut for the first time in Alaska, soooo yummy!!!! Those shrimp are massive!!!!
Thanks, guys! All these fish went home with the kids, but we still have plenty in our freezer, and getting more! Yes, we have some awesome seafood here.
I really enjoyed watching the fishing. I used to go out with my Dad at times for walleye, but nothing as big as what you were catching! And thanks for the tip on grilling the salmon, it looked really good on your grill.
Thank you so much! I grew up in the midwest, catching pike and walleye with my Dad! Great memories. Now we do it with our kids, but in Alaska. Appreciate your comments!
That was some bent on the rood but I can see why, the fish sure were biting and nice second day catch too. Now thats what I call fresh fish, out of the sea and onto the pan, cheers Alan
We're not the biggest fishermen, but it seems like you netted a pretty good haul there at the end (certainly better than we could catch anyway). It would be so awesome to fish in Alaska, I feel like the scenery must make it one of the most magical fishing spots. Great share guys! 😊 🎣
Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Actually, one of our other videos, with the whales bubble-net feeding, was going on while we were fishing! So, yeah, the scenery, and marine environment, makes the whole experience magical.
That water color is simply stunning from above. Wow it's amazing how those rods really flex. I love sockeye salmon. The freshest I have ever had it was in Seattle. You guys had a great haul. I had no idea that's how you caught shrimp. Great video!
Thanks Jacqueline! Yes, Seattle has good fresh salmon, but it's best straight from the water ;-) Glad to show something new. like shrimping. Really appreciate your comments!
Now that is what I call fishing...have been fishing for halibut a couple of times off the coast here in NS...I wonder how Otis would do in a boat? I have never caught a salmon, but I sure do enjoy eating them...Yum! Well, now, I don't know nothing about shrimp, but it would seem to me you grow them pretty big up in Alaska...surely not their name-sake...lol Always enjoy and appreciate your adventures...take good care and hope you have been having an amazing week! Bruce and Otis
Thanks so much, Bruce! Yeah, we like to eat halibut, salmon, and shrimp. I think the shrimp are more accurately "Pacific Spot Prawns," and they are much larger than your grocery variety, and so sweet! Really appreciate your support of our channel.
👍👌✋ Extra Good job🤝✌️ Wow. Great view, I love to see new places 👍❤️ Great movie 👍 Bravo 👋 And I have a new movie from a walk around the city 😊 Yours sincerely, DJ Janusz from Warsaw Poland 🇵🇱🙏✋
That's some serious family fishing right there. Do you need special permits for the fishing and shrimping? The only downside I can see is getting tired of eating fish after a few days, you caught so many, and some were fairly massive! The shrimp too! Nothing shrimpy about them.
Thanks, JR! Only an Alaska fishing license is needed (and they are free if you are over 60 ;-). Most of those fish went home with the kids, although we did eat some, for sure. We also brought frozen caribou meat from home, which is mostly what we ate as the kids grew up. They love getting the Alaskan cuisine again.

Nice fishing!! big fish and big shrimps!! nice trip!! what is the temperature? ')
Thanks Michel! The water temperature is in the low 50 degree fahrenheit range, and on the cold rainy days, about the same air temperature.
So much fun! How far out, looks like it’s near main bay for fishing?
Thanks, PrayerWarrior. Sorry for the late reply. This was all around Glacier Island, near the mouth of Columbia Glacier.
@@AlaskanAmblers thank you!! We’ve been saving some more money for another trip out. Tough this year with fuel prices. Such a beautiful area!!
