You’re a kid in 2001 - 2009 watching pbs kids, and the pbs kids plays and then SUDDENLY BOOM, this comes out of nowhere with the weird theme and the announcer saying this is KUHT, Channel 8, Houston PBS and the background with Houston moving then the funding with KUHT background plays and you hide behind a pillow. That was me
I remember that old logo from 2005 Man I remember when I was watching Clifford the Big Red Dog on PBS Kids when I was very young I remember Channel 8 Houston PBS logo always reveals his self when it goes on to commercial break and I remember they always mentioned the University of Houston because they always talk about the better career and a brighter future for your life and those are like good times back then
The reason they mentioned university of Houston is because their station is literally next to the campus. They have good connection with pbs khut station 8.
Yup, my wife and I even remembered back in the 2000s analog days when we would watch Sesame Street during class on the big cart TV it would start with this intro.

They held on to this jingle for a long time. In fact, they used it from the 90s all the way up until 2014 when they rebranded as Houston Public Media.
I’ve always loved that jingle from PBS in Houston
Sounds like a Blast from the past And a good victory theme
It sure is! Plus, it also sounds like we're at a Chapel!
I remembered when I was a Kid I saw to watch this is my city
I miss KUHT being called HoustonPBS, and I miss that "Sunburst 8"
As of early 2014, The station is now renamed as "Houston Public Media"
But I still call it "Houston PBS". This was the first PBS Station I ever watched.
Server2008, did you grow up with “Sunburst 8”, and do you live in Houston?
I do too, especially the "Sunburst 8"
@@mikeyg.thecnanddisneyfan9069I took the tour of the Houston Public Media studios back in 2018. The tower on the roof still has this logo on it!
