In this video I show you how to reset your minkaAire ceiling fan. This is useful when your neighbors are turning on and off your fan for you. Re configure your fan. #fan #diy
I keep returning to this bc my neighbors keep ending up on my frequency. Neighbor, if you’re reading this, stop it! 😂 So annoying, but this video is a gem.
My wall switch is in the attic. They weren’t able to hook it up on the wall because of how the electrical was without tearing a hole in the wall. Going outside and turning off the breaker and following your instructions resolved the problem. Thank you so much!
Does this method work with a replacement remote for the MinkaAire fan? We lost our original remote and need to connect the replacement to the fan. The remote we have looks the same inside and out. Thanks
Dude! I have three of these fans and over time they each stopped completely working. Finally got fed up enough to figure out what was going on. Fixed them all in three minutes because of your video. Great work!
Bro my parents room upstairs was on the same frequency as mine and it was so hot in my room and I kept turning on their light trying to turn on my fan. I watched this video and thank god bro your a lifesaver
OMG...thank you! My sons fan stopped working, and I thought it was the battery in the remote. It still did not work after installing new battery.. but it is working after this quick reset.. thank goodness because it's hot down here in florida!
some fans you have to change the frequency on the fan and the remote. check out my new video ruclips.net/video/pM74ftwkFew/видео.html in the first 2 mins I show how to change the frequency on the fan itself
@@thebartendermechanic it does. It took me forever to realize that the switch only holds memory after one minute. So if you turn home light switch off and back on, fan wont turn on until after one minute. Thanks
Thank you! My remote stopped working but I think it must have switched to a different frequency when I dropped it recently. I was about to buy a new remote.
😱😱😱🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏❤️thank u so much.. I have two the same fans and I just installed my second one on …and don’t know how they both running at the same time. I called my nephew but been waiting for him to call me back so I thanks so much for your video you are the angel.🌷🌷🌷🌹
Thank you very much I’ve been meaning to try and change those setting for a while. But I thought I had to open up where the motor of the fan was to do it. I was t sure of doing that so I never changed it. Your video showed me how to do it very easy. Thank You!
You’re a god damn life saver! I work nights and am tired of neighbors cutting my lights on while I sleep and turning off the fan when it’s 110° outside!
Excellent! My wife threw away the manual as most women do, (sorry ladies, it's true), so this did the trick. I knew it was something with the remote to reprogram, but I could not recall the sequence...
This was so easy! Thank you! I do have an issue though--we have 4 fan/lights on our porch and the remote controls two of them even tho they are calibrated differently on the back of the remote. I'm not complaining though. It worked!🙂
Dude! Your video saved me. I had 2 fans installed in bedrooms next to each other. The guy who installed them, threw away the manuals. Thank you for saving me the Google search to find a digital copy of the manual.
Thank you!! I changed the dead batteries in my remote and the fan and lights still would not respond. Then I just turned on wall switch and held the remote center button down and it reprogrammed to the same frequency and I’m good to go! I told my spouse that I saved an electrician bill and we’re going out to dinner now.
We put up with an upstairs fan turning the light off on our living room fan for years. Then the living room fan remote wouldn't even turn the light back on. New battery didn't help, so I tried changing channels like you did and reset it, and boom it worked. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for sharing this. In my case i did not have to open the remote control, i just did your trick with the switch and it worked. Best of lucks to you.
@@thebartendermechanic Now my fan only goes in reverse and is stuck on high. Also my fan does not have a light. My fan now is connecting to the another fan in the house.

question, my fan and light stopped working, i don’t have a remote for my minka aire, only the wall controller that looks similar
Your wall control switch can also be reprogrammed, pull the center cover and you’ll find the numbers/buttons and just follow this video instructions.
My Fans are talking. One is a craftmade and the other is a minka Aire
Thank you very much for making this video! My fan stopped responding with remote commands. This reset tutorial fixed my issue in under a minute.

How do I make it where the wall switch turns on my fan and not the stupid remote?
The wall switch would have to power the circuit of the fan.

When I'm pressing the power button to sync, I just hear a clicking noise instead of seeing the lights flicker on and off. Any ideas why?
Very helpful. Thank you. The fan instructions left out the part about turning off the power first.

How do I make my fan go in reverse
Hit the button with the two arrows pointing at each other at the bottom of the remote, not all fans can do it or have the button.
My fan speeds seem wrong.
There's little diff in speed between 1-5, then 6 is very fast. Any ideas?
Do you have another remote you could try? If the problem persists with a new remote, then you know its in the fan
