She is very well respected and she holds a very high approval rating here in the UK. Not everyone likes a monarchy but it seems the vast majority support it. She also has a lot of involvement with the troops and served in WW2 herself!

I must apologise about the dreadful behaviour of my fellow countrymen. Do what i would do. Ignore them. They are stupid and ignorant. The Queen's approval rating is very high as has already been said. She serves the country with a smile and with a diligence belying her age.

Regarding her knowledge, she's been the Queen of England since 1952. Her knowledge must surely be unbelievable. Imagine if America had the same president for 70 years and the experience they'd gained over that time 🙂

You're absolutely right. She has self restraint, hence why she's still such a great queen.

Yes she's well versed in most things as you'd expect after 70 years!
It's more soft power she weilds nowadays although she has felt the need to respond to the number of serious aligations made in the Megan interview in a polite manner!

Firstly please ignore the haters and never apologise for trying to learn. They are probably a lot more ignorant on things about your country than you are about theirs and you are trying to improve your knowledge. The queen I think is popular though I am not sure on what the exact numbers would be were you to run a poll. She would probably be more popular than the Royal Family as a whole and is much respected. Her powers are huge , in theory. But then so were her ancestor Charles the first and he was beheaded by Parliament. So yes she does have all these powers the real question though is what would happen were she to try and exercise them.

She's had a super high approval rating for almost 70 years, but yes she's definitely a great Head of State.
There is a very small fraction of the UK population that aren't keen on being a constitutional monarchy, but the overwhelming majority of us are happy with it. I think perhaps some people might misconstrue the type of monarchy that we have in the UK though.
One of the biggest benefits to having a constitutional monarchy is that the Head of State (monarch) is politically neutral. Politics can get quite heated in the UK, but this is generally kept at parliamentarian levels (members of parliament in the Commons) and doesn't taint the Head of State. So when there is a crisis that needs everyone to come together (such as a pandemic, for instance), then most people will turn off the political rhetoric and pay attention to what comes from the Queen.
For the vast majority of people, she's been the only monarch we've had in our lifetime, and has sort of become a grandmother figure to the public. When we elect our Members of Parliament, they will be sandwiched between the Public and the Crown to keep them in check. The public can always vote MPs out of office, but if there was ever a need to immediately remove one of them before an election, then the Queen is able to force them out of office and trigger another election at any time.
As also mentioned in the video, the Queen also keeps parliament in check by making sure they don't go on a power grab spree (for instance when MPs tried to pass a law so they could authorise air strikes without requiring her permission to do so, she ended up stopping that from happening).
Yup, she's very knowledgeable about the military and has a great deal of respect for all the armed forces - and equally they respect her in turn, too.
Every Christmas she does a televised broadcast to the nation in the afternoon, usually accompanied with a story that she tells on a topic that changes each year (whether that be family, friendship, etc). If you get a chance, then have a watch of the broadcast she did for the pandemic; and contrast it to how politicians gave their speeches. That video alone I think highlights quite well why it is having a monarchy works quite well (in my opinion).

The Queen doesn't normally directly decide on military matters. She would normally leave that to the decision of Parliament, she has some military background but doesn't really need to use it as she relies on the government to deal with these matters for her.

As for the Queen. We absolutely love the monarchy. We don’t like our politicians and the queen is a fail safe. She has all the power and they don’t and that’s a good thing 👍. As for the link to the military it’s very strong as they all serve and are very close to the military. They are also closely advised by the senior staff.
    Great channel too 👍

As for her military norwich she served in the military as a mechanic and driver she meets with the heads of her armd forces every Wednesday morning she apparently has a very good tactical and strategic mind when it comes to military issues, all her children and grandchildren have all served in the military most in active warzones at one time or, another edward was a pilot in the falklands war, Harry served as a forward observer in Afghan, and on top of all that she has the total loyalty of all the and forces they would obey her orders well before any orders issued by parliament. She is what you Americans might call "a badass", and she's a qualified marksman with a number of different weapons as well ranging from pistols two submachine guns, and apparently she's a really good driver!

I’m a great believer in monarchy because we have a head of state who is totally neutral in politics and therefore not embroiled in political dirty business or backroom deals, haggling and squabbles. At times of great national rejoicing or lamentation there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to resent the person who embodies the country on their behalf. The recent Platinum Jubilee was a splendid example. I remember my favourite radio presenter said quite recently that he’s been listening to another programme on his station in which some opponents of monarchy put forward the scintillating view that “Well, the Queen don’t do nuffink, does she?“ I should say that I am fully aware that there are far more valid and eloquent anti-monarchy views than that! Now in my 70s, I went through a period of a few years perhaps in my 40s when I thought that monarchy was outmoded and should be gently eased out over a period of years, although now I’m a great believer in evolution and not revolution. It may not endure forever, but it works. Republicans in the UK (and that is spelt with a small ‘r’) might argue that most of the countries have presidents, which I would reply with the greatest good humour that if it works for them damned good luck to them!
As the years have gone by I have decided that 1200 years or so of monarchy broken only by 11 years of a republic under a repressive fundamentalist Christian regime (ugh!) have gone pretty well, and I think that the last monarch who openly expressed strong political views was Queen Victoria who died in 1901. Her grandson George V reflected at the time of the first Labour government in the 1920s that he wondered how she would have greeted Socialists as HM Government. He actually got on well with them. Her successors have actually understood their role in the modern world, not least of all Queen Elizabeth Ii.

Fortunately the interactions you have online are totally different to real life no matter what nationality you are talking with. And hey I'm learning here too, even as a Brit. She is very good as far as monarchs go, but that doesn't mean its a good system. The next monarch could very well flip the attitude and become a tyrant. I feel that most people respect the monarchy but assume it will be phased out in the next couple of decades after Elizabeth dies. I don't think people will tolerate a new monarch for very long.

The royal family brings 170 million pounds to Britain every year while only spending 40 million , it doesn't make sense to abolish the royalty. Also, the next monarch cannot become a tyrant, the UK is a constitutional monarchy.

@@mariosmatzoros3553 I would say most people don't view it in a monetary way. You may be right that it can't devolve into a tyranny but its a spectrum of tyranny that people are becoming very sensitive to.

While the Constitutional Monarchs technically has a lot of power, any mistep that the public and or politicians disapproves of would make the politicians declare a republic and bye bye monarchy.
The monarchs do go to military academies, the late Prince Philip was serving in the Navy during WW2.
The queen was a part of the Womens voluntary branch of the army late in WW2.
While the monarch is technically the head of the military, the defense ministry is the de facto leaders of the military in terms of planning and actions.
The monarch holds the right to be briefed and give their 2 cents at the military meetings tho, and the monarch has the highest security clearings.
Winston Churchill had meetings with the King during WW2 for example.

Countries with a long history of monarchy and now has a constitutional monarchy, have a huge approval rating, as there is something fairytale like about it.
The monarchs barely do anything other than smile, give hand shakes and being a sort of moral compass by being nice and humble people.
They are basically not allowed to interfere with anything political.
With the alternative being a republic with an elected president, who outside of the US constitution, is sort of identical in role as a monarch, but tries to kiss ass to get re-elected. The US situation of a president veto'ing "parliament" and making decrees, is not desired anywhere else. Meanwhile the French president struggles internally, and in Germany.. well who even knows who the President is.
Therefore the approval rating is like 75%+ in the UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
It is a lot more sketcy in Spain, but the monarchy was only re-instated in 1975, and the king has been caught being morally and financially corrupt. He abdicated, so the son is the king, and fled the country, so yearh...

The first video I watched of yours, and you comments like "you rude motherfuckers" really turned me off. EVERYBODY gets negative comments that make RUclips videos. Your comment at the end "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all" made me laugh. Your toxicity towards the people in the UK was palpable. Of course not everyone in the UK is like that.
I guess this ended up being another one of those negative comments you hate., however, I mean it to sound constructive. Your casual use of "motherfuckers" was a real turn-off for me personally, and enough to make me not watch any more of your videos. But, I'm just giving you feedback. Good luck with your channel.
